[Open] Hope you don't mind being wet
Characters: Luke Skywalker and you
Date: Through June
Location: Around Keeliai
Situation: Catchall! Luke can be found in the gardens in the Sky sector a lot. Because trees.
A. Rain
The rain might be cold, and Luke had, even before coming here, found out that being wet and having wet clothes sticking to cold, clammy skin wasn't much fun... But on the other hand, it was rain, and it was still something that felt... special. Impossible, in a way.
So it's pretty easy to find him all over, probably just standing or sitting somewhere, face turned up towards the sky, eyes closed, and a small smile on his face. Completely drenched.
(Someone's gonna get sick one of these days.)
B. Eaten by peace
The tremors weren't anything new, but being caught by a wave of tranquility both like and unlike what could be experienced in the Force, but unable to break out of it... Luckily he probably wasn't doing anything in particular when it happened, might even seem to simply be looking at some greenery or another in the garden in the Sky sector until he breaks out of it, but either way, it's not something he'd like to see happen more than once.
Unfortunately, it does.
C.Floating rocks in the garden - Sky sector
It might be simple, but considering he'd had all of a month of proper training so far, maybe simple was best. And while he could get more help now, he just wanted... to make sure he had what basics he'd already gotten down properly. To that end, Luke was sitting on the grass, eyes closed, and keeping several rocks of varying size in the air around him.

C - Sky sector

"Hello."
The stones remained in the air around him kept completely still - he wanted to get to the point where he could keep them moving, perhaps, but for now this would do. Control, as Yoda used to try and beat into his head.
no subject
"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. It's just been a while since I seen anybody do this."
He looked at the rocks and for a moment there was wariness in his posture. It hadn't been all that long, actually, if what Kylo Ren did to him counted. Poe tried to ignore the bad memories and give the blond a smile.
"Sorry to be blunt but you are a Force user, right?"
no subject
Then he blinked at the question and nodded.
"Yeah. Trying to train, otherwise I'm never going to get better," he chuckled, shaking his head.
no subject
"You seem to be going a really good job with the training. Where I come from we don't have many young users, being able to control the Force had become a rarity. My name is Poe, Poe Dameron. It's nice to meet you."
no subject
"There's not really many when I'm from either," he said, though honestly it seemed more like 'not any' more than 'not many', but Luke hoped there were still some around... Straightening up a little he smiled again and slowly let the stones down on the ground, one after the other.
"Luke Skywalker."
It wasn't as if there was any reason not to use his full name here.
no subject
"Oh. Oh, sorry Master Luke. I...I've been told you were here, Han warned me you looked young but I wasn't expecting...well, this." Poe gave him a sheepish smile.
"I'm not making any sense, aren't I?"
no subject
Luke frowned, shaking his head.
"No, I think I know. You're from my... or at least one future. And I'm no master," he shook his head again, shuddering a little. "Just Luke."
no subject
"There seems to be more than one possible future, though, it's really confusing."
Couldn't he just ignore the title? It felt wrong to him, but Poe didn't want to make the young man uncomfortable either. Well, more uncomfortable. He ran a hand through his curls, messing them even more in the process.
"Okay, then...Luke it is. I'm sorry, I must be overwhelming you."
no subject
Shrugging, he ran a hand through his hair as he looked out over the garden. It really was easier like this. Felt less stressful, really. Whatever happened, would.
"I mean, I can't say I wouldn't be curious, but by now it's kind of obvious that even if I tried to find out every thing about what seems like two different futures, there's nothing that says which will be mine... if either of them."
no subject
"Yes, that's true. If you see it that way, it's a relief." Poe smiled, understanding. There was no way to be sure what future would be waiting for him, no. Maybe it was a whole different one than Poe's reality.
He hoped so, the Jedi deserved a much peaceful existence than the one he got. His sister too, and that brought up the next question.
"Might I ask if the Genera..ah, if Leia is also in the city?"
no subject
"No, Leia's not... here. From any time in the... um, timeline?" A shrug. "I miss her, but it's probably also just as well she isn't here."
Even if time didn't pass in their respective realities when they were here, this was still not where they should be.
no subject
Poe is not sure how she would react to seeing Han again, knowing that it's not her Han. Not to mention Kylo Ren. That was a whole different, and more worrisome, issue. Which coincidentally made Poe look suddenly very worried.
"You might have noticed him but there's another Force user that goes by the name of Kylo Ren. He's from my world and there he's looking for you too. You should be careful..."
no subject
"My possible future nephew, yes. I've met him. We've been avoiding each other since then," Luke shook his head and gestured vaguely, "it should be fine. I think he was thrown off by my age, and if that changes, I'll just have to learn to duck."
He still didn't have a lightsaber, after all, but he had the feeling that really, having a lightsaber wouldn't be helpful in dealing with the man.
no subject
"In that case, things went better than I expected. I'm pretty sure he wants you dead in my world. Not you, the...other older you."
Luke's comment brought some more questions, though. "How old are you, sir?"
no subject
"... Sir?" Luke stared for a moment and then shook his head again, grimacing, "we're not in the Alliance or any military at the moment, so while I technically am a Commander still, it's just Luke."
Of course, he could understand it as well; Poe was obviously used to him being older, but there really was no reason for him to call him 'sir'.
"And I'm twenty two."
no subject
"Ah, my apologies. Old habits die hard. I'm a commander myself but I never use the title either. Luke, all right...I can use Luke." Probably. If he focused, maybe. Poe huffed and shook his head but he looked more amused than upset.
"Twenty-two. That's terribly unfair, I feel so old. you are a decade younger than me. No wonder everything people from my world tells you must sound so weird."
no subject
Laughing quietly at Poe's complaint, Luke grinned.
"Aside from the fact that it's the future at all? Thirty years is a lot of time, yes. Nothing my parents haven't had to deal with, though, so I'll take it as it comes."
no subject
"He's Kylo Ren. He probably feels that sand has wronged him if it gets into his mask vents." Is not as if Poe was trying to imply the man acted like a petulant child but...the man acted like a petulant child. A dangerous and violent petulant child, at that.
"That's the best you can do. And it probably would be for the best if I don't bother you with it. We don't know if my future will be yours too and you certainly don't need the headache."
He looked around them, at the rocks first and then back at Luke, trying to relax. "You are learning do to this all alone?"
no subject
"I get the feeling the dark side does things to those who use it..." But that was a thought he hadn't had a chance to dedicate much attention to, and he didn't know what he wanted from it either.
So he shook his head instead.
"I can't say I'm not curious but yeah... since there seem to be at least two possibilities, I'm not sure how much I want to worry about it."
Looking from the rocks to Poe, he snorted, crossing his arms.
"Not... exactly. I had a teacher for a month a little before I came here, so most of what I know or could practice, like this, comes from him. But... I don't actually need to learn it on my own here either, since my father's here, and Galen."
It felt good to have people he could go to when he wanted to. A relief, really.
no subject
The pilot understood the blond's reasoning but if it was something common in both futures, as far as he knew, is that most of Luke's students would suffer a terrible fate. Sharing that information could result in something even worse happening, there was no good choice to make.
"You will...No. I mean...if you ever become a Jedi Master and decide to teach, please remember that some things are beyond our control. And that we can't blame blames for the actions of others." He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, looking apprehensive.
"I've been told about Anakin and I've talked to Galen. I hardly know anything about your father, though, but Galen seems to be a man worth listening."
no subject
Blinking, he turned to look at Poe, an eyebrow arched.
"Why would I forget that? I know that. That doesn't stop some of us from trying to fix everything, of course," he smiled wryly as he said it, thinking of himself as much as Leia, "we do the best we can."
no subject
Luke had been missing for over a decade in his world. Poe doesn't know the full story of his reason he knows people doesn't disappear and cuts all contact with the rest of his family if he's feeling well. Poe really should try to make this conversation a little less depressing.
"Ehm, one of my pilots really admire your flying skill. I mean, we all do, but Jess would be cursing at me if she saw me standing here and not asking you for an autograph or something."
no subject
But sometimes (quite often), it didn't feel like it was enough. Not when he'd left Yoda, not when he hadn't been able to save his friends after leaving his teacher. Not when...
Shaking his head, he looked up and chuckled, feeling his face heat up a little.
"I'm pretty sure we can't take anything from here with us, otherwise I should... ah, give her one, if you really think she'd want that."
no subject
"I've been told that we don't keep the memories from this place if we go back to our world, so...I appreciate the offer but maybe it's better to wait and see if Jess shows up here instead. She would ask you for one herself." And maybe fangirl a lot.
