Characters: Kara Thrace, York, & North
Date: After this.
Location: York’s suite
Situation: Kara died. She respawned and is showing back up a few hours later. Sup guys. How’s it going.
Warnings: Swearing, possible brawling?
Kara had died – she knew she’d died, she’d seen the grenade coming and felt it explode -- and then nothing. She was dead and she knew it – so why was there sea water? Why were people pulling her out of the ocean? It was – just like when she’d first arrived.
After spitting venom and a little bit of vitriol for the majority of the cart ride, Kara was eventually deposited back in front of her suite where she promptly got out and went straight to York’s on unsteady legs.
She doesn’t even knock – she just barrels in.
“York -- North? Where the frak are you two?!”

She looks up at him and smiles tentatively, an almost hopeful, needy thing but one that's still apprehensive and on guard.

Because -- that sounds really good to her, York. She's shaken and trying to put on a tough front and a smirk and it's eating at her.
"Guess we better go check on Princess number two. Pass me my robe?"

"If you wanna change, I'm gonna get a water and some painkillers for me and Sasquatch."
no subject
"Sure. I'll put some pants on so he doesn't have a heart attack."

"...What're you going for?"

As soon as he heard York enter he turned, closing the cabinet and sniffling sort of self-consciously. "I was going to try and work up some kind of breakfast."
no subject
"I don't think I could eat, man. I was just gonna go pass out in bed with Kara for a few more hours after making sure you weren't passed out."

"You offering?"

He's not sure if she would, but he has them anyway, along with some for him later, which he sets on the nightstand and crawls gingerly into bed, like even his bones ache. He makes it to handing her the glass of water, before promptly easing his way down and burying his face right between her breasts.

She has to laugh at that. Resting a hand on the back of his head she takes a sip of water before setting it aside and slowly allowing more of her tension to ease.

He smiles into the swells of her breasts and eases off to the side so he's not squishing her, instead resting his cheek on her shoulder, quiet for a long time. He doesn't know what to say, doesn't know what's right or what's not here, and finally settles on just curling next to her, soaking it all in.
"You're...feeling okay, right?"
no subject
"Yeah. I'm fine, babe." Or at least - she sounds fine. She's pretty rattled, but damn grateful to be alive.
"You know, I didn't used to be afraid of dying. Like, it wasn't a big deal. It's what made me such a good pilot. I was fearless in that cockpit."

He doesn't know how anyone could be fine after that - that's a whole slew of shit that's Not Fine, but he'll go with it for the time being, stroking his hand down her side, curling it over her stomach gently.
"Kinda goes with being a soldier of any kind, I think," he murmurs. They were all aware dying was an option in the war and as everyone else went down around them, it became all the more clear. "Luck only gets you so far."
