Raine has a head full of transformations before she realizes it. She'd thought--

She'd thought it was just Chat Noir, and they've spoken at fair length before, and she hadn't really been concerned about anything. But she'd meant to ask him something more about his magic, and now the question has left her head somewhere between her hand outstretched to catch hold of him and Adrien's memory.

Her own memories catch up before more than a moment or two can elapse, the heartbeats seeming much longer than they actually are.

She's falling-- falling-- and she's resigned to it, she knows her students will carry on the hopes and dreams of the world, and all she regrets is that she's leaving her brother to someone else's cares, that she won't get to see him grow up--

The Tower has made this a long, long fall. Raine half-expects deep water at the bottom, and she closes her eyes.

--it's a moot point, since someone's snatching her out of the air. Her eyes go wide and she sees Zelos, with a shadow of his usual grin and wings arched behind him like flames--

Thank goodness for Lloyd, she thinks. because who else would have managed to change Zelos's mind, but she doesn't say anything aloud.
