Misty water coloured memories
Characters: Adrien/Chat and YOU - Open to anyone, if we plotted or not!
Date: February 8-12
Location: Various
Situation: Memory share event
Warnings/Rating: Parental neglect, that's about it!
A: Every super hero has an origin story (Adrien or Chat, let me know which flavour you want!)
[Who knows how you ended up coming into contact with Adrien. Maybe he bumped you while serving you some food in the Midnight Hotel, or while he was working in the Healer's Guild. Perhaps he was just a friendly shoulder bump while talking to him. Or maybe you didn't come into contact with Adrien at all, and it's Chat Noir you touched. Either way, a memory is unveiled, if he wants it to or not.
You find yourself in an enormous room. It's filled with many things to occupy a teenage boy, but most of it remains perfect. Untouched. Nothing here is important. Not really. On the floor, rolling along on a recently emptied toilet paper roll is a tiny, cat-like creature. It's also listening to Adrien, who is staring at the silver ring he constantly wears - currently in the palm of his hand.
"But I'm stuck here, I'm not even allowed to go to school," Adrien seems more frustrated than he usually outwardly shows. "What good is a superhero who's imprisoned in his own house?"
"No good! That's why it's all going to change soon. If you're willing to change, that is," the creature watched Adrien slide the ring onto his finger, determined. "Claws out. That's how you transform."
"Got it!" Adrien just barrels right ahead. "Plagg, Claws out!"
Plagg panics, frantically trying to grab hold of the toilet paper roll as he's sucked towards the ring.
"NO, WAIT!!! I HAVEN'T FINISHED EXPLAIIINIIIIIING"
Plagg vanishes into the ring, it turning jet black with a familiar-to-some green pawprint on it. There's some flashy lights and one magicalgirl boy transformation later, where Adrien stood is Chat Noir, grinning manically at his gloved claw-hands. Wow. Shock. Surprise. No one saw that coming. What a twist. ]
B: 80% of them have parent issues too (Adrien)
[Or maybe you trigger a DIFFERENT memory. Here, Adrien sits at a table, where an older man seems to be arguing with him. A woman with a red streak in her hair stands by, head bowed.
"I already told you that it's out of the question for you to go to school!"
"But Père!" Adrien stands, desperation in his eyes.
"You have everything you need in this house. I forbid you from going outside, it's too dangerous!"
"Why do you always want to shut me off in a cocoon? I'm always alone," desperation has made Adrien bolder, but there's still fear in his eyes- fear to stand up to this man. "Why can't I have friends like everyone else?"
"Because you're not like everyone else," the man snaps back. "You are my son, Adrien. Resume."
The man turns on his heel and walks out. Leaving Adrien where he is, giving no more quarter for an argument. Fun times.

B.
Plus, Adrien's puns were awesome.
But an accidental shoulder bump lead to Danny stiffening as Adrien's memory ran through his mind, even as one of his own was triggered.
Danny was sitting alone at the kitchen table with an untouched dinner plate, playing with his fork and looking depressed. He didn't know what it was, but ever since he'd started seeing the new school guidance counselor, he felt depressed and angry all the time, and it didn't seem to be getting any better.
A teenage girl with long red hair steps into the room and looks at him with concern.
Danny glances over at her with annoyance. "What?"
She shakes her head. "Nothing." She examines him closely, then walks over and pinches his arm.
Danny flinches back and glares at her. "What!
"Nothing!" She looks uncertain for a moment as she sits down at the table beside him. "So, uh, Danny. I know I've been kind of hard on you lately, but you know I think you're great, right?
Danny glowers at her. "Yeah right. That's not what I hear."
"Then you've heard wrong. Look, I know you think I'm pushy and I'm a know-it-all. I know you think I can be a jerk sometimes..."
Danny is listening with a smug smile. She frowns at him. "You know, you can stop me at any time."
"I know"
She sighs. "All I'm saying is I'm your sister and I care about you." She puts a supportive hand on his shoulder. "And even though you don't think I'll understand, you can talk to me about anything."
Danny looks away from her, almost as if he was considering saying something. But before he does there is a loud crash coming from the living room. The two siblings rush to the opening overlooking the living room to find the couch half destroyed and smoking with a large man in an orange hazmat suit wielding a futuristic looking gun at it and a woman in a blue hazmat suit looking on.
The man is still waving the gun around with a disturbing amount of enthusiasm. "I'm just saying, if we can find that ghost at Jazz's school, this baby could peel that ghost apart like an onion!"
The woman smiles supportively at him. "Well we can't completely vaporize it, Jack. Don't you want to at least examine the remains?"
Danny winces at the overheard conversation between his parents and shoves his sister's arm off.
"I don't want to talk about it."
no subject
But then the rest of that happened and he turned to stare, wided eyed at Danny. Did his parents just say what he thought they did.
"Um. What was that?"
no subject
He wasn't sure which part was worse.
no subject
He frowns softly.
"We're they talking about what I think they were talking about?"

B.
[Midii might not have been well versed in magic, but she recognized something was amiss. And so she made sure to pay attention. The features of the man arguing. The words spoken. Facial expressions. Body languages. She tried to remain impartial to the moment, but when she realized she recognized Adrien--]
[When the memory ended, she gave a soft gasp as reality resumed around her. Blinking twice, she averted her gaze just long enough to process everything before turning back to Adrien.]
Was that...did that really happen?
[A dream or a memory? She couldn't be sure.]
no subject
His shoulders drop. He doesn't even try to fake a smile for her.]
...Yeah. It got- a little better. But yeah.
no subject
[Sorry.]
[Assuming being sorry would help him now. Which Midii was pretty sure it wouldn't. She thought of her own family. Her father. A man who had been so sick by the end, he spent more time sleeping than awake. Who had three other children to look after. And yet, had always done his best to make time for her. One of the few things she'd never doubted in her life was that her father had loved and cared for her. She couldn't imagine...]
He shouldn't have treated you like that. It wasn't right.
no subject
And yet, he still makes excuses.]
He's just worried about me, I mean- I hated being locked inside all the time but - I could understand why he did it. he just wanted me to be safe.
[And then he got the Ring and put himself into the kind of danger his father would never even imagine. Irony. ]

A.
She'd heard of Chat Noir in the city, of course, especially when talking with others during her deliveries. But she hadn't thought to think of Chat as being one of the others, as if Chat himself existed as his own entity.
That, it seemed, was not the case... ]
--Adrien?
and equally A!!
...Though, perhaps he is more panicked about the fact he doesn't feel all that bad about people finding out. Marinette will KILL him.
But hey, at least he knows has a good visual of Columbia. Maybe he can divert her attention with that? Yeah, sure. Great plan.]
So that was Columbia?
[Flawless. ]
so flawless
I... yes. Yes, that was Columbia.
[ She opens her mouth to say something more... and then, inexplicably, what she says is: ]
There are usually more airships visible than that. It must have been a quiet day.
gosh wow
I see. It's uh...a pretty nice place. I mean, it looks like one, anyway.

B!
[She turns to Adrien, horrified by his father's actions.]
He spoke to you as though you did not matter.
no subject
I- I'm sure I do. He just- he was just worried about me.
no subject
[She frowned, eyes flickering to the ground briefly before fixing her unblinking stare back on Adrien.]
You are not a thing to be commanded.
no subject
I've got an image up uphold. The family name.
[Boy howdy does he sound bitter about that. The cracks in his careful facade are starting to show. ]

B because lets keep this slow moving trainwreck going
Bisi herself remained invisible, cloaked by her Loki Warframe.
Ordis's unmistakable voice greets her over the commlink. "Operator, I am unclear about what mission you are undertaking here. This is a civilian colony."
"I know, Ordis." The enhanced senses of her Warframe let her make out the details through the glass domes of the structures, seeing people going about their lives, with friends, with family. Peaceful.
"The Lotus has forbidden Tenno from interacting with civilian colonies," Ordis continued.
"I know, Ordis," she said, just about snapping back. She sighed. "It would threaten a neutral colony's standing if it became known they were fraternizing with Tenno."
"Then I don't understand why you are here, Operator."
"I guess I don't either." She stood up. "I'm heading back to extraction. Have the Liset ready for me."
"
ABOUT TIMEI mean, of course, Operator."Bisi spared one last glance at the colony and then started heading back to the landing pad.
=========
Bisi stepped back, as if she'd touched something red hot, when it had actually just been a brush of the hands. She was speechless, at first, unsure what had just happened, and also angry that it had. She'd been trying to keep that part of her life away from Adrien.
But at the same time...
awww yeeeee
"I- what was that?"
no subject
"I don't- know what that was."
She'd seen something in Adrien's past as well. "Who was that? The man named Père?"
no subject
He can't avoid her question forever, though. Maybe he can make this painless.
"My father. That's what Père means in French. Father."

BELATEDLY: A
She'd thought it was just Chat Noir, and they've spoken at fair length before, and she hadn't really been concerned about anything. But she'd meant to ask him something more about his magic, and now the question has left her head somewhere between her hand outstretched to catch hold of him and Adrien's memory.
Her own memories catch up before more than a moment or two can elapse, the heartbeats seeming much longer than they actually are.
She's falling-- falling-- and she's resigned to it, she knows her students will carry on the hopes and dreams of the world, and all she regrets is that she's leaving her brother to someone else's cares, that she won't get to see him grow up--
The Tower has made this a long, long fall. Raine half-expects deep water at the bottom, and she closes her eyes.
--it's a moot point, since someone's snatching her out of the air. Her eyes go wide and she sees Zelos, with a shadow of his usual grin and wings arched behind him like flames--
Thank goodness for Lloyd, she thinks. because who else would have managed to change Zelos's mind, but she doesn't say anything aloud.
no subject
"I- I'm glad the guy with the wings saved you."
no subject
The memory is fairly unassailable, and her initial topic of conversation has gone completely forgotten by now.
"You're... Chat Noir. That certainly explains some things." Now she's peering at him with some curiosity. The creature must be why she hasn't been able to identify him as the same person; there's something of darkness different between the two.
no subject
Oh. Never mind. She got there. His eyes widen, glancing around in half-embarrassment-half-panic. He knew more people would realise who he was eventually, but he never imagined it would be this way. He gives a nervous laugh, backing up a little.
"Um. Yeah. So that was something you saw."
Great. Greeaaaaat.
