August Catch-All: Sheena's Back! (Closed and Open)
Characters: Sheena and YOU! (Raine, Zelos, and Kratos specifically for Prompt One)
Date: 8/8
Location: Errywhere!
Situation: She's baaaack! And going all over the place this month.
Warnings/Rating: None so far.
Reappearance: Closed (Aug 7/8)
As a ninja, Sheena's been known to disappear and reappear suddenly, but that's usually accompanied with a puff of smoke and under her control.
Nothing like her reappearance today in Raine's kitchen. Totally asleep, Sheena is totally unaware that she's no longer in her bed, but is now on Raine's kitchen floor, curling reflexively against the sudden chill hitting her body. Given time, that temperature change would normally be enough to awaken the ninja, but Sheena's life isn't exactly normal.
Especially since whatever force had decided to return her to this place and time did it just as a certain Chosen was entering the kitchen, putting her right in his next step's path.
Around Keeliai: OTA (Aug 9th on--except the 21st)
Of course, Sheena's not going to let a little thing like being asleep/gone for a month keep her from getting back into the swing of things. Well, one month and a day. After all, she does need to readjust--again--to things. First and foremost--training. She has to get back into that schedule, so every morning she can be found running through the Earth Sector or in the fields outside of the city doing routine exercises or practicing with a makeshift dummy. Or even sparring with one of her Spirits. Or even someone who offered to spar with her one day.
Later, she can be found all over the city. After dropping Tomoya off to play with the Kedan children, her next stop is the Market and shops. There is a small matter of a Ball happening, so she's doing a little window shopping for a few days before entering one of the clothing shops. And who knows? She just may be able to convince Raine to go to the dance and will be dragging her along as well. When she's not there, Sheena can be found at her usual haunts in the Market, haggling with the stall owners over the prices of their wares. And if anyone comes close enough, they'll notice that the ninja is enjoying herself immensely-even if she doesn't always come out on top.
Most of the time, though, she can be found at the Jasmine Dragon. She may have been gone for a month, but thanks to instructions she had left "just in case" that happened, the Tea House is--and has been--functioning as if she had been there the entire time. Still, that doesn't mean there hadn't been--and aren't--things that need taken care of. So, Sheena can be found in her office, mumbling about the Kedan confidence that she'd return as she goes over back paperwork, Or, just to take a break, she'll either be working a few tables, or behind the counter, or in the kitchen cooking. Or, if someone is lucky, actually catch her sitting down taking a real break. But they have to be quick--that's a rare occasion with Sheena.
Although, because of the nature of her disappearance, she's going to be doing a little research on it. She's got a few questions and theories about it, so she'll be found at the Healer's Guild in her spare time, asking those questions--and probably driving Raine crazy at the same time. She won't be there every day, but she will be there as often as she can be during the rest of the month.
For most people, the day ends when night falls, but not for Sheena. Nope. She'll be out and about on the rooftops, running and jumping from one to the other. Partly for exercise, partly as part of her research, but mostly because she wants to talk to someone. A talk she had planned to have before she disappeared. That doesn't mean she'll turn away any other rooftop dweller. Not at all. Conversations and races from others are very welcome!

Which Sheena hasn't, because all of this will be brand new to her, but still. Zelos kind of wants to be angry at something for pulling this.

Forget why she's in the kitchen (which is suddenly clear), she's got more important things to worry about.
Hands that had remained still suddenly spring to life, gripping his shoulders tightly. her eyes blazing with an unexplained fear and a different kind of anger, the ninja demands, "Where is she? Where's Raine? Is she all right?"
And if he doesn't tell her, she's just going to get up and search for her herself.

It honestly doesn't occur to him that Raine turning into a dragon might be the most important emotional thing to process here. Sheena vanished. As far as any of them knew, she wasn't coming back. Zelos is still looking at her like if he glances away for even a second, she'll disappear again. Why's she so focused on Raine?

"Good," she mumbles with a sigh of relief. "At least this Raine's okay." Emphasis on "this". And blurted out without her thinking about it.
Looking up from her hand, her gaze is now steady, with more than a hint of determination. "You said it was because of a necklace? Was it cursed? And is it still around?"
Because she's going to destroy it when she gets the chance.

"This Raine?" Zelos squints at Sheena. "You mean there's more than one?"

Whoops. Had she actually...? Yep, she sure as hell did. And she can't lie her way out of this one. Though, it does take her a while to answer, her voice barely above a whisper as she nods.
"Yeah. In the other place I was. Before coming here." That's a good answer, right? She can leave it at that, right?

Zelos sobers the moment Sheena mentions the other place, loses all conceit and puts his chin into his hands, watching her. "But it's still Raine, right?" he asks. "She's still Raine, no matter what. She doesn't have a twin."
He can accept there being some other world out there Sheena was pulled to before Keeliai, but this? Two different Raines? That makes no sense.
This may be a good time for Kratos?
It takes her a long moment to look up and meet his gaze. "Yes and no. Raine and I talked about this when I arrived. She thinks it may be a parallel universe since she had been here during the same time--but yes, it's still Raine. No matter what," she says with conviction. She had had another theory, but comparing notes about events back home had changed that.
Not to mention that's what her heart tells her--and everyone knows Sheena tends to follow her heart.
throwing in one more tag. Ground control to Major Kratos!
... this is not the kind of thing Zelos wants to be thinking about right now. He shifts, suddenly and decisively, and puts his face right up next to Sheena's, peering at her. "You mean you might not be the right Sheena?" Prod. Prod prod. "How can you tell? You guys have the same face, the same amazing body, the same volum --"
It's perhaps a good thing he won't be able to finish that sentence.

So he appears in the apartment with that subtle blue flash, and ... blinks. Zelos on the floor is not new. Sheena on the floor? That is a surprise.
Kratos's face perceptibly softens in the vague direction of a smile. "Sheena."

When he shifts closer, Sheena doesn't flinch, but her eyes narrow. "Are you sure you want to continue with that line of questioning, Zeloser? I'm me, and I can prove it to you." She starts to raise her hand--for what, no one will exactly know, since that's when the blue flash of light catches her attention, and she turns quickly, a look of confusion mixed with pleasure at seeing him on her features.
"Kratos." She should have known he'd be there to protect Raine as well, and her relief is two-fold. As is her concern. "Just how bad did it get?"

"Raine turned into a dragon," Zelos repeats, pointedly, giving each word its own emphasis. "How much more do you need to know? It was bad."

He pulls off his cloak to spread it over the back of a chair. "Is there anything in particular you're eager for, for breakfast?"

She sighs and turns back to Zelos.
"One of you being here to make sure she doesn't turn back into a dragon equals it was bad. Both of you being here? That means it was far worse than just bad." She narrows her eyes. "Give me some credit, Wilder. I have fought alongside all of you and seen how you fight, you know." So, she's pretty aware of their strengths in battle.
Moving on before he can say anything about her watching him...
"So, only her office and artifacts, huh?" she asks, totally not believing that. "Neither of you," she wags her finger between the two of them, "got hurt? I'm impressed." And also knows that's not true.
At Kratos' question, she shakes her head. "Nothing for me right now, thanks. I think I should let Raine know I'm here first."
