[ For those interested in accompanying her to the brothels, Inara waits again by her tea house, but this time outside of it. She is willing to make several trips in order to get different perspectives and opinions. Don't be afraid to tag under this thread! ]

[Dorian has taken a liking to Inara, which is no surprise. She is beautiful to look at (never a flaw) but she is also beautiful through cultivation and performance. Charming grace—what the German might call anmut—holds far more attraction to him than mere physical beauty. Like all good art, it puts him in a good mood.]

[ Inara dips her head in a bow of acknowledgement, smiling merrily at him when she is addressed. ]

Mr. Gray. I am, thank you. It's a pleasure to meet you in person.

And you. Hopefully, we'll be able to find what you want to see. Is Favrielle here already?

Unfortunately, I received word that Favrielle is under the weather. She won't be joining us on this tour. [ Inara seems genuinely disappointed. ]

It will be just us, if that's all right.

No, that's perfectly fine—but it isn't serious? [Dorian does want to go on a fun adventure in brothels, but he cares enough about Favrielle to put it off if she is really unwell.]

Oh, no - nothing like that. She simply told me she was feeling under the weather, and encouraged us to continue.

[ she gives Dorian a genuine smile. ]

I'm sure she would appreciate your concern. Are you two close?

She has been a friend here since my arrival, and a good one. [He says it easily, naturally, and honestly: he is more fond of her, and she has been better for him, than he might have expected on arrival.]

[ Inara nods. ]

She has been very much the same for me. I appreciate her kindness -- it is a thing not often given so freely. It is always appreciated when one stumbles across such a beautiful person, inside and out.

[At that, Dorian Gray has to smile at a joke she wouldn't quite get.] It is an occurrence more rare than one would hope, and all the more valuable for it. Do you want to have tea first, or should we be off?

It truly is.

[ Inara is awash with tea. ]

If you don't mind, could we perhaps postpone the tea until our return?

We can postpone it as long as you like. [With a playfully gallant bow, he offers her his arm.]

Perfect. [ she takes his arm, smiling at his bow. ]

Where shall we start?

[He walks with her through the streets.] With what we said, I thought we might first visit a place nearby that seems more interested in the spiritual welfare of the clients than most.

That sounds like the perfect place to start.

[ Inara is interested in most aspects of the place, though to be honest the sort of place he's just named is what she is more vested in researching because it seems that is what she would relate to the most. ]

Are there many like that here?

[Arm in hers, he gestures freely with his other hand.]

Not many, as far as I can tell. [His hand spreads, an almost apologetic movement.] There are a few more high end places, but even in those, the focus is rarely anything like what you explained to me.

I see. I suppose then that means I shall have quite the monopoly, don't you think?

[ she smiles lightly, though it does trouble her that there isn't at least one that views sex such as she. ]

It seems probable. Perhaps a few will play follow the leader.

I can't say that I'd mind that so terribly. I'm rather fond of the way Companions do things, after all.

I'd assume you were. You normally work in more of a community, with other Companions?

[suoxi]

[ Inara nods, a smille crossing her features. ]

When I lived on Sihnon, in the Companion house, yes. I left about a year ago though, and rented a shuttle on Serenity. It opened up quite a few doors for me and allowed me to travel and extend my clientele base.
