[His smile matches her own. How sincere it is, however, is still up in the air.]

[ she browses a menu for a moment, then nods. ]

Anything with ginger in it will likely give you the kick you're looking for. Also, the tea eggs here are delicious and quite spicy.

[Bruce glances back at his menu to get an idea of what she's talking about. But he's quick to set it aside.]

Inara Serra.

[ she gives him a polite smile, and tips her head. ]

Are you new here?

Pleasure.

[He chuckles at her question.]

Hope I'm not too obvious.

[suoxi]

Not terribly. [ she leans back as a tray is brought to her table, a cup set in front of her and hot water poured into it by a kedan clad in traditional oriental garb. ]

Toa chie. [ she smiles softly at the kedan, then bows her head before the server walks away. ]

Though I'm sure all of us were fairly obvious when we were new, like it or not. We certainly all seem to have the same questions.

That's good then. It means I'm blending in. [For a foreigner anyway. Just the way Bruce wanted it.] Are you adjusting well?

[suoxi]

Well enough.

[ she sips at her tea and sighs happily, pleased with her selection. ]

It's difficult to initially settle, honestly - the story is a bit outrageous, I admit.

It is.

[Especially when you're apparently someone's double.]

But so far it hasn't been a terrible vacation.

[suoxi]

No, not at all. It could absolutely be worse.

[ she gestures – they’re still talking across two tables. ]

Would you care to join me? I’ve quite some time before I must be somewhere.

I wouldn't want to impose if you're expecting someone.

[Yes he would like to join her.]

[suoxi]

It's quite all right. I have some spare time and I wouldn't mind the company.

[ she gestures again. ]

Please, have a seat.

[Well, in that case, Bruce eases into the chair across from Inara with a smile.]

Thank you. This is much better than eating alone.

[suoxi]

[ Inara nods and smiles, and pushes the teapot in his direction. ]

Agreed. I prefer companionship over a meal. There's nothing quite like a good meal and good conversation.
