Look who's overworking herself again.

Having ceded about half her responsibilities to Suhiet frees up Raine's time somewhat, so she's not technically obligated to be at the Guild; but all this means is that she spends more time in the lab that was Solomon's instead. She keeps busy.

There's a few days toward the beginning of the month where this isn't the case, as Sheena's returned from the Dreaming and some kind of celebration seems the order of the day. Apart from that, however, Raine can usually be found at the Guild, and if she isn't at the front desk then one of the volunteers can easily find her. She's the person to talk to for health concerns or helping out around the Guild. Or if she's been demanding answers about someone's home world.

When she's at home Raine can often be found in her apartment proper -- never in the kitchen, owing to an age-old conspiracy against her, but tending the small planter boxes in the front or sitting in the window of the open living room, reading or writing.

Sometimes she can be found instead at a park nearby, sitting with her staff across her knees and her hands glowing faintly. Her eyes are half-shut, but she tracks anyone who comes within a few meters, and won't be startled if interrupted.

Devin appears at the Guild every few weeks, having made a request to conduct any blood donations under medical supervision. He doesn't allow anyone to be in the same room with him when he actually consumes the blood, however.

By now he's at least a passably familiar face in the Guild, and most of the regular staff and volunteers have learned that bothering him immediately after he's finished is an unwise idea. There's something faintly wild at the edges of him, something less controlled as he starts to stalk his way to the exit, hoping to find a quiet place to be alone when he turns a corner and nearly walks into the head healer.

"Do you ever leave?" he inquires, arching an eyebrow.

It's not a conspiracy; it's health insurance.

A quiet humming can be heard coming from the kitchen, however, as Sheena bustles to and fro preparing a snack for her friend. Well, a bribe, actually. She needs to talk to Raine about some news the ninja had heard, and some buttering up may not hurt.

After a few moments, Sheena exits the room carrying a tray with lemon tea and cookies to where her friend is reading. Clearing her throat quietly, she puts the tray on a nearby table.

"Hey, Raine. You got a moment? I want to ask you something."

It's mid-morning when Bakura appears at her elbow, right in the middle of a conversation with one of the guild attendants that he interrupts without the slightest hint of shame, literally cutting them off mid-sentence.

"Time to go, seba-rekhet. You, come back tomorrow." The latter is added at the attendant, with just enough arrogance to assume he's actually the one in charge of dismissing them, rather than Raine being their actual boss.

Zelos spends a little less time at Raine's apartment than he did the previous month, now that Sheena's back and all is right with the world. Or... most is right with the world. (A world floating around on the back of a giant turtle without Lloyd or most of the others in it will never be right.) But that doesn't mean the three of them don't occasionally get together, and it's during one of these times that he brings the topic up out of nowhere.

"You're both going to the ball, right?"

He says it like it's what they've been talking about for the past twenty minutes, but it's not. He says it like that's a foregone conclusion, even though it probably isn't. In short -- he's making a lot of assumptions. That's pretty par for the course.
