[closed] I want to feel the pain and the bitter taste
Characters: Stephanie Brown and Raylan Givens
Date: 13th Feb.
Location: Earth Sector
Situation: Some gang members and Raylan make poor life decisions, meanwhile, Steph hates everything
Warnings/Rating: Violence, will update as necessary.
It's supposed to be a perfectly normal evening; her shift had run a little late, but not enough to bother her, she still has plenty of time to walk home, grab some dinner, and do a quick warm up before heading out to patrol for the night.
She makes it almost all the way to the Foreigner housing without incident, but as she ducks down a side street to take a shortcut, she hears footsteps behind her. Two, one heavier set than the other and both walking as if they're trying to be silent, which isn't very effective when they're sneaking up on a Bat. She doesn't change her pace, doesn't look around or do anything that suggests she's heard them, just keeps walking, closing her eyes briefly as she concentrates on the sounds in the night.
Three up ahead, likely planning to cut her off at the exit onto the next street, while the two behind block her exit. This area isn't quite in any gang territory, but that doesn't rule out someone straying from their bounds.
Her guess is right. When she gets close enough to the end of the street, three figures step out of the shadows, only one of them armed, and that's only a small knife. She stops, sighs, and casts a lazy glance over her shoulder to take stock of the other two kedan; they aren't armed either, but all five of them hold themselves confidently, assured they're going to come out on top in this little altercation, and Steph has to stop herself from laughing.
Instead, she looks back at the three in front, and interlocks her fingers together so she can stretch out her arms as they start to close in on her, loosening her posture in preparation for the fight to come. It's not exactly how she planned for the night to go, but she can make it work.
