Well, we don't experience them all at the same time, we're not linked mentally. But once we re-merge, all of the memories compile. If that makes sense. And if I split again, well, all the copies retain all the merged memories.

And it doesn't drain you or anything? Extra tasking on resources and all that?

Mm, well, a bit? I'm still three people and my appetite doesn't divide among my copies. In fact being split sometimes means I get a bit hungrier than usual.

I'm having to be a bit careful with the rationing and the fact I work two to three jobs a day, depending.

Mm, not by the standards of my family. My father's family is Aspurran. It's something like a point of cultural pride that Aspurrans work long hours and make it their life. It's something of a passion for them.

[She shrugs.]

I wish I could say it's the same for me but really I just wanted to make sure I had enough money for a rainy day. It's a bit alarming to be dropped somewhere without the backing of the wealth you've been used to all your life.
