Location: A cafe in the Fire Sector
Situation: Toby is just chillin' like a villain in a cafe, because that is a thing to do.
Warnings/Rating: None that I know of? Will edit if that changes.

[Toby is sitting at a table in a cafe, flipping through a well worn copy of Wordsworth's Poems, In Two Volumes. He's also sporting a mild sunburn, emphasis on mild considering how severe sunburns can be for him. Either way he's seeming pretty relaxed more or less and amicable and friendly enough when the server comes to take his order. So bother him at your leisure, or not, whatever floats your boat.]

[Toby's delivery is matter-of-fact and offhand and nonchalant, as if discussing the weather. His focus is back to drawing on Dorian] Actually the pawning it off on someone not here was the villainous part, and the person you picked just made it worse. You could've said it was Alan or Henry or even James, but you picked Basil of all of them. And that is what makes you a villain.

James never dressed that nicely, Alan and Harry are better looking. Basil's the only one who made sense.

I despair for your poor painting right now.

[His head is now sunk down to the table as he waits for Toby to be done brutally disfiguring his beautiful perfect skin.]

I don't see the problem.

[monstrous]

[Toby hummed as he drew] Does ignorance work as an excuse as far as your painting goes?

[depicted]

[From his muffled defeat:] No.

[monstrous]

Well maybe when you get home the painting can explain it to you then.

[depicted]

You have to make me miserable on very possible level, don't you?

[monstrous]

[he releases his grip on Dorian's wrist] You're free to go if you want. Start tearing off your skin if you like, too.

[depicted]

[Dorian scowls at Toby—You know I won't—and looks down at his arm. And scowls more.]

Don't tempt me.

[He does at least start rubbing at it to get the markings off.]

[monstrous]

Hey, I spent a lot of time and energy making that for you!

[depicted]

Not the right preposition.

[monstrous]

Oh?

[depicted]

Yeah. [Dorian surrenders, his skin thoroughly irritated by his efforts. He slumps back in his chair again and drugs his sleeve down to hide the marks.]

[monstrous]

Hey, hey, come on now. Don't hide that, it's a gift from me to you!

[depicted]

Nothing you say will sell me on this.

[monstrous]

If you hate it that much, just do the skinning thing you mentioned earlier. That way I can at least hang it up at my place.

[depicted]

[He answers in a light voice.] That may be the most morbid thing you have ever said to me.

[monstrous]

Not an easy feat, so I'll take that as a compliment.

[depicted]

It isn't. [No, it is.] Would you really be willing to hang a piece of my skin up on the wall? That isn't a bit much even for you?

[monstrous]

I don't know, I'd have to see how it looks first. [No he wouldn't, it is a bit much for him, but it's fun to play with Dorian]

[depicted]

You aren't Hannibal. [Dorian looks back down at his arm and goes back to trying to rub it off.] And besides, as a Romantic, I think it's your responsibility to go in for hearts or larynxes instead.

[monstrous]

You do have a pretty little neck and a very pretty voice.

[depicted]

[He is way, way too easily flattered.] That I certainly do.

[And then Keeliai blew up because it couldn't handle all that ego.]

[Ugh but the drawing is not automatically fading out. It's just all smudged on his arm now.]

You really are wonderful at painting, though. If you didn't do things like this, I'd enjoy seeing more of your work.

[And he likes the expression Toby gets when he's painting. He always did, but he was a little occupied trying not to screw up very badly with it.]

And I don't care what you say, I still like this [Toby gestures to Dorian's arm.] I'll have to see if they have something like henna here. Then one night when you're sleeping I'll get to properly finish without you having to ruin it.
