Location: Keeliai - Fire Sector
Situation: Day 02: Wally's been here for a day already - he's yet to make a network post, mostly because he's been concerned with finding work. He's just found a job that fits and he's exploring the city.
Warnings/Rating: None, yet.

[ So aside from the whole situation of winding up here yesterday, Wally West was doing alright. His long ride to the city and settling down had gone off with ease - aside from getting strange looks now and then from the locals when he expressed his disbelief in being "between life and death." He had locked himself up in the suite and spent most of that first day pacing until he fell asleep. With the dawn, he had made the resolution to find himself some work. This was definitely a sprawling place, and not a prison, or so he had determined for now. Might as well go along with the flow. An explanation from a local resident had laid out the sectors in detail for him, and that's what set him on his path for the Fire Sector.

Wally walked like a normal human being for once. It took him a good deal longer than he probably wanted, but even this impatient boy knew better than to go all that way without getting a hang of his surroundings. Once in the Fire Sector, he set his sights on every herbalist around. He figured with what chemistry and biology he knew, he'd be perfect for that sort of a job. Four turn downs. The only reason he got the job he did was because he let slip he lived in the Wood Sector and he showed off his speed. The soon-to-be boss appreciated that he could stealthily retrieve ingredients now and then, maybe cutting down on his costs to the merchants.

With that success under his belt, the ginger-haired teen was told to come back the next day for work, bright and early. Today? He had to himself to finish exploring the city. ]

Because the Rob I know would never be-

[ He sighed, trying to calm down from that little outburst he could feel bubbling under. ]

He'd want to go down his own path. Not Bats's.

[demon_brat]

It was a complicated situation.

[The words were ground out through his teeth. It wasn't like what the speedster was saying was exactly a surprise, making the reminder that the best thing that had happened to him was also just about the worst thing that had happened to the person who'd done it to him... all the more poignant.]

[ Wally was taken aback by that reaction. If he had to guess, he'd say this kid cared about Dick just as much as he did. ]

Right...

[demon_brat]

[Ohhh yes, he cares. No, he can't in any way show it normally.]

... what.

[sciencewhizard]

[ The speedster leaned in and squinted at the boy. ]

Aside from, well... being Robin to his Batman... Who are you to him?

[ If this kid said "son," Wally was going to flip. ]

[demon_brat]

[It takes Damian a little bit to actually say it. Because... because. But he does.]

Brother.

[sciencewhizard]

Oh, so Br-

[ He stopped himself - he wasn't completely sure of that fact. ]

Bats adopted another kid?

[demon_brat]

Yes. Three. But not me.

[the face he was making turned into a smirk.] I'm the real deal.

[ And that

BATS HAD A KID?

[ Wally was definitely spazzing out beyond measure right now. ]

[demon_brat]

[That look? Is incredulous as to how one could miss the fact that Bruce Wayne engages in activities that may lead to procreation. Really, West.]

It is not necessary for you to shout.

[sciencewhizard]

[ Pardon, he just thought all creatures of the night were just... sterile or something. ]

Dude, that's just-

Egh. Right. Right. No shouting.

[demon_brat]

[Nope. Not sterile. Just... actually careful.]

[Beat.]

He - your Robin - is a lot older, where - when - I come from.

[sciencewhizard]

[ The speedster looked off to the side and ran a hand back through his hair. What was he really gonna make of all this? ]

Okay. Right- So... Do you know me?

[ Back to curiosity; he needed to know this... ]

Don't tell me I'm still "Kid Flash."

[demon_brat]

Do you really want to know the future?

[It's not a light question, either.]

[sciencewhizard]

[ Did he? He took a moment to think about that, crossing his arms and starting to top his foot to the rhythm of his thoughts. He was pretty stubborn, and he probably felt if it winded up badly, he could change things.

He finally shrugged and smiled. ]

Sure. Why not?

[demon_brat]

[You really shouldn't ask questions like that.]

Because some people move on to the next persona after their mentor has died. And most of them do not like the situation.

[He's not saying that's the case... nor that it isn't.]

[sciencewhizard]

[ ...Well. He's not going to jump to that conclusion. No, not at all.

...

Oh wait, yes he is and he's going to tense up about it. ]

Oh- ...Yeah, I see why.

[demon_brat]

[SIGH, WEST. SIGH.]

There are reasons time travel is never allowed to be commonly accessed. Not all facts are supposed to be handled... too soon.

[sciencewhizard]

[ Don't sigh at him, Damian! That's his uncle. ]

Yeah, I know that now. [ He really shouldn't be getting upset; he did ask, after all. ]

Look- ... It was nice meeting you, kid- but I think I need to go sort this stuff out.

[demon_brat]

[But he... comes back?]

Go, go. If you have questions... [shrugs.] About this place. Somebody probably would like it if I helped out.

[sciencewhizard]

...Right. [ And like that, Wally was speeding off. ]

[demon_brat]

[And Damian just shakes his head, frowning. He still hasn't had enough interaction with speedster to just take this as normal. So he's irked. But... oh, well.]
