Situation: Leo takes his hoverboard flying around the different sectors!

[Leo sometimes remembers, vaguely, a promise to Annabeth that he would tell her about his hoverboard when he actually manages to finish it. Today is not that day.

He screws in the final bolt and grins as he watches the hoverboard rise from the ground. So he cheated, kind of, using a little bit of that Celestial Bronze to actually bring it to life, but whatever. Little details. He hops on it, wobbling for only a couple of seconds before he finds his balance, Thomas and Buford leaping excitedly below him.]

Alright! [He claps his hands together and rubs them excitedly.] Let's do this!

[And off he goes!]

Yes, ma'am! [And he hops off the hoverboard, which is still floating close to the ground without really touching it. He gestures at it with his arm.] All aboard the Loverboard!

[sophos]

[She's about to hop on, but she pauses right before the leap, turning to stare at him flatly.] Loverboard?

[fotia]

Well you can call it the McFly Hoverboard Generation II Turtle Edition. But I find the Loverboard to be catchier and easier to say. [swagger shrug!]

[sophos]

[Nope. She's still staring at him.] I'm just going to call it a hoverboard. Unless it gets named something like Buford. [And then she jumps on it easily.] How do you steer it? Just like you would a skateboard or surfboard?

Fine, suit yourself. [Not really bothered though! And he immediately goes to explaining the controls. He points to three glowing buttons on the front of the board, near where her feet are.] Stepping on the green button makes it move, red makes it stop. Just lean forward to speed up and backwards to slow down, left to go left, and, well, you know what's next. Oh! And, [he points to the smaller button in the middle.] that's what you step on if you want super cool BGMs while flying. Hope you like Cee Lo Green!

[sophos]

[She actually follows along well enough, and she's pretty sure she's got a handle on how to steer it properly.]

[But there is one thing.] What's Cee Lo Green?

[Look she's bad enough at pop culture as it is, and with the way her life was in the months before going turtleside, do you really think she had the time to hear "Fuck You"???]

[He pretty much expects Annabeth to get the hang of it pretty quick, so he's just grinning as he watches her steer. At the question, he raises a hand.]

This guy! [He doesn't need to reach for the button on the hoverboard, really; one flick of his wrist and suddenly some phat beats boom out from the speakers underneath the hoverboard, followed by Cee Lo's distinctive voice.]

"I see you drivin' round town with the girl I loooove..."

[sophos]

[She wrinkles her face. Mostly out of too loud feelings than anything else, even if the guy's voice is verging on obnoxious to her.] Yeah, no. Can we go with no background music for now?

[fotia]

But what's a hoverboard ride without wicked beats? [waves the music away, though!]

[sophos]

Maybe after I get the hang of it. Is that the only music you have set up? [She sort of pokes around at the buttons, readying herself to try it out.]

[fotia]

Uhh... Taylor Swift? [all girls like her, right?] You're like, both blonde or something?

[sophos]

[Pointed. Look. No, Leo. No.] Not all girls have to like the same things, much less because of their hair color. [Wow he hit some sore spots.]

[fotia]

[hands raised in surrender!] Whoa, sorry, Miss Hipster. Seriously, though, what kinds of music do you like, anyway? I never hear you gushing about the most awesome tunes on the radio or anything like that.

[sophos]

Because I don't usually listen to the radio. I don't know, I just - find songs I like. Music that fits what I need it for. [A pause.] Rachel likes to try and rec me things.
