Characters: Diana of Themyscira & anyone!
Date: 8/7
Location: Earth Sector, Turtle's head
Situation: After settling down for a bit, Diana needs to get some fresh air and decides to explore her surroundings
Warnings/Rating: None/Will add if necessary
Honestly, she could've reacted better to the situation. That was the first thing that occurred to her when she had finally settled down in her provided suite. She had been taught as a child to expect the worst, that things will not always go as you expect, but to be told that you were to be stuck in an unknown dimension until you wake? That wasn't very promising. If it was so easy to slip in here just by sleeping at night, it was going to be a problem when she gets back.
When, because she thinks it's possible, but right now she's not sure how. It was a wonder the locals were initially angry with her too for lashing out. She could've, should've, handled that more diplomatically. She would in most situations, and had she been in a dangerous fight maybe she would've accepted it with more grace, but her temper got the best of her and it was only when the explanations started that she settled. Uneasy, but on the bright side she had not attacked anyone. She was still in control of that.
Still, that didn't make her feel better about being here. Even if they assured her time does not pass the same way here as they did back home, she still worried about Steve, about her mother. They would definitely worry, and she didn't even get the chance to assure them she will be fine.
It takes her a few hours before she convinces herself to walk. A few hours of meditating, remembering the teachings of her mother on how to reign in her temper, before she manages to calm herself down. Enough, at least, to investigate the land to which she was brought into. She had noticed the computer on the side, found no reason to use it for now, and settled on moving about and trying to find clothes, at least. All she had was her armour, which she was proud of, but she remembers the need to not draw attention to herself here. Steve taught her the importance of anonymity and blending in to a culture she had not been used to, and while she wasn't 100% okay with it, she understood the importance enough to let it be. Besides, it kept people from flocking her, and that was good enough for now.
So she moves about the Earth sector, at awe at the sight but also a bit too melancholic to full appreciate it. Occasionally, she can be found checking local wares halfheartedly, sometimes she's talking to the local children to ask for directions. One time she can be found sitting in a tree just watching people. This happens for the whole afternoon, as she doesn't venture to the other cities first until she's satisfied her curiosity here.
At the end of her exploration, she can be found sitting over at the head, overlooking the sea. She's less melancholic at this point, but still wistful. It would be nearing night when that happens, but she wouldn't mind conversation now.

Shayera > Kyle > Diana
She had just been staring out at the ocean, admiring the tranquility and silence that came with it, until she saw someone out of the corner of her eye. A person. Shayera would've shrugged it off, but that head of hair looked familiar, not to mention the posture. She flew in over to get a better look at her face, soon finding out she was right on her hunch.
"Diana? They got you, too?" She waved Kyle over, to get him to come see her... fellow League member. Diana's not exactly a friend, but someone she's just a but relieved to see. Chances are, Kyle knows her, too.

Coming here with Shayera had been a natural progression. He was falling into the routine - drive her up the wall, let her tease him, wrestle, eat together, and have some semblance of respite from all that they'd been through. Flying was just one of those things, and they often just did tricks in mid air. That was fun, and Kyle follows her lead - even when she flies off in a random direction towards a stranger.
Or what looks like a stranger at first glance, but isn't. He lights up. 'Hey, Diana!'
no subject
"They have. I'm afraid," She starts, looking at both of them. Relief, cheerfulness-- already she feels bad at not recognizing them. Were they good friends wherever, whenever, they came from? "I am not quite familiar with both of you. Yet, it seems. Forgive me, I'm normally better with faces than this."
no subject
"We know you in the universes we're from. Apparently for people like us, there's a lot of them. I'm Shayera Hol. Try not to let it bother you."
She did know that there were going to be many more explanations on this. She was prepared, if not a little exasperated, to give them.
no subject
'What she said. Don't worry about it. I'm Kyle. I uhm.' Owe you so much. 'You taught me to fight.'
no subject
She focuses on Shayera right after what Kyle said, one hand to her hip as she shrugs. "That's a lot to ask of me when I've just arrived, but I will keep it in mind." And she would end it there, if she could. "You are not the first to approach me regarding the topic today."
no subject
"You never told me that." It's not an accusatory tone, more curios and surprised. She'd understood why he never said that, it's not like he's going to tell her his life story or anything. She focus back to Diana, she can't really ignore her when she just got here and everyone knows her, but she doesn't. Not even Shayera can be that mean to her.
"A lot of people are going to know you here. I had the same thing happen, everyone mistaking me for someone else." And then it hits her she has something in common with this Diana. Anything really is possible.
no subject
He looks back at Diana, and gives her a bright smile. 'Sure. I can match you for strength, but you've always been faster than me. Amazon thing, I think.' Oops awkward schoolboy crush and tiny hero worship was showing. He couldn't cover that up, not very well. She'd always been someone he admired and respected.
no subject
That was the problem right? Everyone's from the future, and she doesn't even know how to handle that particular info. She takes great pride in her fighting prowess, besting Artemis is kind of like receiving candy after all, so the way she actually looks happier at some sort of welcomed news helps. She knows, when she was young, that she had the same awe towards her mother for similar reasons. She can relate. "Perhaps we can test that out sometime, to see if I am up to par with your memory."
no subject
But then there was this. Thing that she was dealing with. Her and Diana weren't making snide remarks at each other, getting along, and to top it off, Kyle's heroine worship is showing like neon lights in Vegas. She puts a hand on her hip, cocking a brow at him. Are you for real now is pretty much written on her face.
no subject
He looks at Shayera. What? ... Wait, was she jealous? He didn't know how to deal with that, so he focuses his attention back on Diana.
'Sure. You'll find the forms extremely familiar.' He's modified them, from adapting different fighting styles, but the base concept is still Amazonian, and nobody can fake that, at least, not on the instinctive level, unless they've learnt it.
no subject
"I'll have to," She stresses, because well-- if she doesn't, then she's not much of a warrior, is she? Adapting to the situation was always important, and already she's given herself more than enough time to brood. She keeps in mind what Kyle said, wonders about it in the future, and instead focuses on what is making her curious now.
"Are you two siblings, by any chance?" There's no similarity in their features, not even close, but the bantering isn't like the way she and Steve interacts. Not close. She wonders if it's like her and her sisters.
no subject
Then next part, however, definitely catches her by surprise. Was it that easy to tell? Guess Shayera is better at being a family to someone than she originally thought.
"What makes you say that?" It doesn't sound hurt or upset, just simply asking for curiosity's sake.
no subject
Cheerfully, slightly smugly, 'Ew. No. I'd catch something.' The accompanying smile is cheeky.
no subject
The twitch of her lips are unmistakable, trying to keep from smiling too much. Already like siblings, if not the more rowdy type. She knows, from the little she's spoken with others who knew her, that she had the support, but it would be nice still to see someone she's met before this place. She'd take Artemis even, if that was what it took (although really, she was fond of her, they reminded her of how she banters with the older Amazon.)
"Just a thought." Oh Kyle, you are so in trouble.
no subject
"I'll get right back to you on that, Diana." But for now, she gives Kyle a punch square in the jaw, though not too hard. Right after that, she tackles him to the ground for a little playful wrestling. Shayera doesn't want to hurt him, just mess around a little and have some fun. This is their way of doing it, and she loves him for it.
no subject
'Okay! Okay! Uncle!'
He waits for her to release the grip, and then pull him up (because that's how it is), and he dusts himself, running a hand through his hair, his green ring standing out against the black.
no subject
"Didn't put up much of a fight there, did you?" Well, playful and all. "I'll take that as a yes on the siblings."
no subject
"Are you kidding? I can beat him from here to the moon." Not really, considering no one really wants to fully kick the other's ass when it's just for play and fun. She pulls Kyle close, wrapping an arm around his shoulders with a grin.
"Yeah, this idiot is my little brother." But now this gives her a good idea. There's a glint in her eye, turning to Kyle again with a smirk that means nothing but trouble.
no subject
At her smirk, he returns the glint, knowing exactly what it means. Turning back to Diana, he yells, 'Think fast!' before he and Shayera lunge at her.
no subject
Diana manages not to react reflexively in tossing someone over her shoulder when they lunge, managing only enough to step back before she lets out an 'oof!' and crashes to the ground in surprise. A part of her was aware that this was just playing, which was the only reason she didn't treat it as a threat from two practically strangers, but the surprised yelp she makes was still embarrassing as they tumble down.
no subject
Shayera can only raise her eyebrows in surprise once that yelp comes out, and there's an awfully smug grin on her face. Hearing the princess yelp like that? Definitely one of her favorite moments so far.
"Never heard you make a sound that embarrassing before, Princess. One of your less graceful moments, hm?" Definitely going to remember it. And possibly smirk.
no subject
It's funny how he's sometimes just not conscious of that fact. Maybe part of him did think he was a metahuman. He'd been using the ring long enough, anyway.
Instead, he just smirks and incredulously remarks, 'Oof?'
no subject
"Oh, you are getting it now."
And her demeanor breaks. The twinkle in her eye is obvious as she gets her bearings, and while they were normally heavy on their own against a normal person, she's not normal. With as much strength as she could muster without actually intending to hurt, she bends one knee to help stabilize her position and goes to aim for flipping one of them off. Whoever is closer and easier to move in the few seconds she calculated. Flip them off and under her if she could. If successful, she'll be taking that opportunity to pin one of them down, fingers moving for a tickle attack.
Who says she can't have fun?
no subject
"So the Princess can have fun."
