Characters: Diana of Themyscira & anyone!
Date: 8/7
Location: Earth Sector, Turtle's head
Situation: After settling down for a bit, Diana needs to get some fresh air and decides to explore her surroundings
Warnings/Rating: None/Will add if necessary
Honestly, she could've reacted better to the situation. That was the first thing that occurred to her when she had finally settled down in her provided suite. She had been taught as a child to expect the worst, that things will not always go as you expect, but to be told that you were to be stuck in an unknown dimension until you wake? That wasn't very promising. If it was so easy to slip in here just by sleeping at night, it was going to be a problem when she gets back.
When, because she thinks it's possible, but right now she's not sure how. It was a wonder the locals were initially angry with her too for lashing out. She could've, should've, handled that more diplomatically. She would in most situations, and had she been in a dangerous fight maybe she would've accepted it with more grace, but her temper got the best of her and it was only when the explanations started that she settled. Uneasy, but on the bright side she had not attacked anyone. She was still in control of that.
Still, that didn't make her feel better about being here. Even if they assured her time does not pass the same way here as they did back home, she still worried about Steve, about her mother. They would definitely worry, and she didn't even get the chance to assure them she will be fine.
It takes her a few hours before she convinces herself to walk. A few hours of meditating, remembering the teachings of her mother on how to reign in her temper, before she manages to calm herself down. Enough, at least, to investigate the land to which she was brought into. She had noticed the computer on the side, found no reason to use it for now, and settled on moving about and trying to find clothes, at least. All she had was her armour, which she was proud of, but she remembers the need to not draw attention to herself here. Steve taught her the importance of anonymity and blending in to a culture she had not been used to, and while she wasn't 100% okay with it, she understood the importance enough to let it be. Besides, it kept people from flocking her, and that was good enough for now.
So she moves about the Earth sector, at awe at the sight but also a bit too melancholic to full appreciate it. Occasionally, she can be found checking local wares halfheartedly, sometimes she's talking to the local children to ask for directions. One time she can be found sitting in a tree just watching people. This happens for the whole afternoon, as she doesn't venture to the other cities first until she's satisfied her curiosity here.
At the end of her exploration, she can be found sitting over at the head, overlooking the sea. She's less melancholic at this point, but still wistful. It would be nearing night when that happens, but she wouldn't mind conversation now.

"On the contrary, I believe a rematch is in order in the future." She then peeks over at Kyle, amused. "Are you all right?"
no subject
"Oh, don't worry about him. He's probably just overwhelmed at meeting his hero-crush again." The teasing tone says there's no hard feelings here, Kyle.

'I do not have a crush on her!' A pause, and he looks at Diana, sheepishly. 'No offence.'
no subject
"None taken. Though I did not realize I would have quite an admirer." Teasing, of course, before she looks at them both. "So, do I consider this your normal greeting?"
no subject
"... I think it might be. Kyle did start a fight with me when we first met." Ah, good times, when they were trying to knock each other's brains out.

He looks back and runs a hand through his hair, smiling up at Diana, when she asks.
'First time I've met someone who tried to tickle me into submission, but. You could say. Yeah.'
He waggles a finger at Shayera. 'That's cos you called me a kid!'

"I believe children are a lot smaller." Sorry, she didn't quite grow up around them, though she does like them enough from her brief exposure. It's hard to grow into a culture.
"Perhaps next time you would think twice before a surprise challenge."

But now she's turning her attention back to a certain little shit. A hand is placed on her hip, and her expression is not amused. "I don't think that's any reason to go shooting arrows at complete strangers."

'They don't have kids on Themyscira?' He looks at Diana questioningly. 'I thought only you were made from clay, where'd the others come from?'
no subject
"You are correct. My sisters kept their youth eternally since the great war. You could say I am the youngest on Themyscira."

'The Diana of my world is... really fond of little girls,' he finishes. Wow, terrible save. 'I had no idea she'd never played with them before.'

"Don't worry, there's a few kids here I've seen. Not that that's exactly a good thing, but at least you'll be around them."

"I did not know about human children being here." She had meant the kedan. There were quite a few running around, after all. "I was under the impression that everyone they had brought had the ability to fight in combat."
no subject
"Yeah. Teens and younger, I've seen. Plenty of adults, but it's still not right."

And at the same time, she'd somehow sent people home. It wasn't who came that bothered him most, it was the simple, arbitrary nature of it all. Everything had rules and consequences, and he honestly couldn't figure out what the ones for the Emperor's magic were.

"Who is Luthor?"
