Characters: Diana of Themyscira & anyone!
Date: 8/7
Location: Earth Sector, Turtle's head
Situation: After settling down for a bit, Diana needs to get some fresh air and decides to explore her surroundings
Warnings/Rating: None/Will add if necessary
Honestly, she could've reacted better to the situation. That was the first thing that occurred to her when she had finally settled down in her provided suite. She had been taught as a child to expect the worst, that things will not always go as you expect, but to be told that you were to be stuck in an unknown dimension until you wake? That wasn't very promising. If it was so easy to slip in here just by sleeping at night, it was going to be a problem when she gets back.
When, because she thinks it's possible, but right now she's not sure how. It was a wonder the locals were initially angry with her too for lashing out. She could've, should've, handled that more diplomatically. She would in most situations, and had she been in a dangerous fight maybe she would've accepted it with more grace, but her temper got the best of her and it was only when the explanations started that she settled. Uneasy, but on the bright side she had not attacked anyone. She was still in control of that.
Still, that didn't make her feel better about being here. Even if they assured her time does not pass the same way here as they did back home, she still worried about Steve, about her mother. They would definitely worry, and she didn't even get the chance to assure them she will be fine.
It takes her a few hours before she convinces herself to walk. A few hours of meditating, remembering the teachings of her mother on how to reign in her temper, before she manages to calm herself down. Enough, at least, to investigate the land to which she was brought into. She had noticed the computer on the side, found no reason to use it for now, and settled on moving about and trying to find clothes, at least. All she had was her armour, which she was proud of, but she remembers the need to not draw attention to herself here. Steve taught her the importance of anonymity and blending in to a culture she had not been used to, and while she wasn't 100% okay with it, she understood the importance enough to let it be. Besides, it kept people from flocking her, and that was good enough for now.
So she moves about the Earth sector, at awe at the sight but also a bit too melancholic to full appreciate it. Occasionally, she can be found checking local wares halfheartedly, sometimes she's talking to the local children to ask for directions. One time she can be found sitting in a tree just watching people. This happens for the whole afternoon, as she doesn't venture to the other cities first until she's satisfied her curiosity here.
At the end of her exploration, she can be found sitting over at the head, overlooking the sea. She's less melancholic at this point, but still wistful. It would be nearing night when that happens, but she wouldn't mind conversation now.

Hope this is okay
Frankly? He's scared. And more than a little lonely and kinda depressed. And freaking out about so many little details. What about his dad? What about Scott? What about Lydia and Beacon Hills and the Alpha pack and the Darach and fffff.
So, with his rapidly dwindling money, he's been trying to stick to a budget. Food, mainly. He had to figure out some way to get some cash coming in, or he'd be in a lot of trouble. Wandering with a bag of vegetables in one hand and his backpack slung over his other shoulder, he makes his way to the turtle's head. Maybe this could help. Maybe just kinda staring off into space will make things seem less overwhelming. Maybe...somebody already beat him to that idea! A woman, not too much older than him, looking wistful and lonely.
"...Hello?" he asks her tentatively, not wanting to interrupt her or piss her off.
Totally okay!
He seemed young, though it doesn't surprise her to see him here. She was told it was a popular enough spot for thinking, and while she's not sure if that was his intention-- she figured it was only polite for her to answer as well.
"Good evening. Out to enjoy the view?" She tries not to scrutinize, seems more curious than anything actually. She's been in Washington long enough, seen enough men, teens, women and children of all ages, but the curiosity was still raw as she still is indeed learning about them.
:D
He doesn't know if he should sit down next to her, or keep walking, or what. So he compromises by just standing there slightly awkwardly for a while, and putting his bag of food down at his feet.
"I'd heard it was calming to be up here. Good vibes or something. I kinda need some good vibes right now. You?"
:D!!
"It's fine. You can sit down." At least, she assumes it was some sort of awkwardness at taking a space not offered. The next set of words earn a smile from her, shrugging lightly.
"The same as you, it looks like. I... am still new to this place." She chooses her words carefully, mostly because she is not sure what to make of him yet. "Have you been here long?"

"Diana?"

No, no such luck.
"I'm sorry, but have we met?"
no subject
"Ah- I... guess we haven't, or we haven't yet for you." It's a little disappointing, but he'll live. "Arthur Curry."
no subject
Was this one of those situations, or perhaps something else? But no, he specifically said haven't yet for you. That could be taken in two ways.
"It's my pleasure," She starts, and as she's learned, a handshake was a proper greeting which is what she'll extend a hand for. "Are you by any chance a friend of Steve's? I admit I am still fairly new to this."

It was the sad look in her eye that drew Kara to the stranger. That and the asking for directions, that was kind of a giveaway.
"Excuse me, hello," she called out, sort of sidestepping her way into the woman's vicinity. "I heard you asking for directions, and I was just wondering if you wanted somebody to show you around."
no subject
The offer was very tempting though, and it did not occur to her that it might be odd. Sure, do not trust strangers and all, but everyone she's spoken to have been accommodating so far. Not quite friendly, like this one, but accommodating enough not to make her too ill at ease.
"I would appreciate that," The child scurries off when she speaks, and she watches him go for a moment before focusing on her again. "Do you know of anyone who could? I'm afraid I am still not familiar with this land."
no subject
"I have the rest of today off, and I've been here a few months already... I wouldn't mind." She was always ready to help newbies in her happy city home.
no subject
"That is a very generous offer. If you're certain I am not distracting you from your tasks, I humbly accept."

Turtle's Head - before or after Arthur is all okay by me.
Today she makes the time, and leaving her motorcycle by the walkway, she walks up to the head.
Where she's suddenly delighted to see a familiar face.
"Fancy seeing you here."
Let's go with after!
"As I've been told. Good evening, out to enjoy the view?"
no subject
Which is really the best reason to be out here. Dinah grins at Diana, friendly and still pleased to see her, and then the lack of recognition in her face gets through.
"...and you have no idea who I am, do you?"
no subject
"I believe I come from an earlier time than you. I've only just settled in Washington a few weeks ago." She pauses, as she considers how to approach this. Blunt would be best, it keeps awkwardness to a minimum. "How do we know each other?"

Shayera > Kyle > Diana
She had just been staring out at the ocean, admiring the tranquility and silence that came with it, until she saw someone out of the corner of her eye. A person. Shayera would've shrugged it off, but that head of hair looked familiar, not to mention the posture. She flew in over to get a better look at her face, soon finding out she was right on her hunch.
"Diana? They got you, too?" She waved Kyle over, to get him to come see her... fellow League member. Diana's not exactly a friend, but someone she's just a but relieved to see. Chances are, Kyle knows her, too.
no subject
Coming here with Shayera had been a natural progression. He was falling into the routine - drive her up the wall, let her tease him, wrestle, eat together, and have some semblance of respite from all that they'd been through. Flying was just one of those things, and they often just did tricks in mid air. That was fun, and Kyle follows her lead - even when she flies off in a random direction towards a stranger.
Or what looks like a stranger at first glance, but isn't. He lights up. 'Hey, Diana!'
no subject
"They have. I'm afraid," She starts, looking at both of them. Relief, cheerfulness-- already she feels bad at not recognizing them. Were they good friends wherever, whenever, they came from? "I am not quite familiar with both of you. Yet, it seems. Forgive me, I'm normally better with faces than this."

He almost passes by the tree completely considering he was a little deep in thought himself. But he does happen to notice Diana in the tree. His senses were far above average so even the smallest rustle of the leaves or the change of scent in the air would give it away. The Wakandan king looks up into the tree, happening to spot the Amazon. It doesn't take a genius to figure out she has something on her mind.
"... You seem troubled."
no subject
The statement, however, comes back in mind before she ponders going down to meet him at a closer distance. She decides to do just that, only to avoid making it feel like she was looking down on him. Be on equal footing. "I've only just arrived today. There's still a lot to be troubled about."
no subject
"I am relatively new as well. And I must admit... it is a lot of take in." Especially since there is so much going on with alternate universes and what not. There's at least two different Tony Starks here and he doesn't think any are from his universe.
"I am T'Challa by the way." And he moves a step or two closer to offer his hand to shake hers.

She's absently skimming through people's minds when she notices Diana. The woman must be new, if she's that worried about being here, or missing home that much. Catty burrows a little deeper to confirm, but only within thoughts that are already at the forefront of Diana's mind. She doesn't want to alert her to her presence by having her suddenly remembering her first kiss or something.
She's definitely new. Catty casts her gaze around until she finds the woman in person, sitting in a tree. She wanders over and sets her bags on the ground, placing her hands on her hips. "Haven't seen you hanging around before." The pun is absolutely intentional. "I'm Catty! Are you new?"
no subject
"Is it that obvious?" She tries to sound a little more enthusiastic than she is, though it wasn't really the best effort. "I don't suppose new people appearing here is all that uncommon to you."
no subject
"Well." She offers up a bright grin. "You're not blue, and I don't recognise you. Not that I really know a whole lot of people here, but I thought I'd take a chance and maybe make a friend." There's a pause, where she considers tugging up a few happier memories to cheer the other woman up a bit, before deciding against it. She doesn't know what kind of powers she might have. "I'd totally shake your hand, but you're kind of in a tree."
