Tel Vishani & Dreaming | Open
Characters: The Tel Vishani and YOU
Date: January 28, 2014
Location: Keeliai
Situation: With just over a month under their shells, the baby turtles are starting to explore the Dreaming realm with, appropriately enough, baby steps in the dreams of others. They are reaching out with curiosity to the Foreigners, with mixed results.
Warnings/Rating: Tiny turtles
Note: This log is set at night and characters will technically encounter the baby turtles in their 'dreams' (as triggered and tweaked by the turtles themselves). Those characters that do not require sleep are welcome to say that a baby turtle mentally nudged them into a daze or the like so as to facilitate this dreaming.
As with the Asti log back in May, this log is not predominantly plot-driven. The baby turtles are trying out their capacities for mental influence as they grow and evolve closer and closer to the state of being individual Tu Vishani, rather than the Tel Vishani that they currently are. These threads may be slice of life or may angle towards more plot relevant material, but it will be dependent on the actions and reactions of each character.
A character's 'dreamscape' should be shaped by their subconscious mind, so feel free to go wild with whatever you'd like. This includes details of their location and what their dream!selves might look like. Each baby turtle will appear differently and sometimes two or three will show up in each dream, depending on what they are doing. They will each first appear as a baby turtle before taking on customised appearances with the first reply to the thread. Characters may also not remember perfect details of these dreams in the morning, or remember them at all. That much is up to you.
Roy and Alex will be sharing the baby turtle tagging on an alternating basis (one of us will take even numbered threads, the other will take odd). We will indicate in the thread header which of us is writing us, for the ease of contact to clarify things, and should the writer within a thread switch, we will similarly notify.
We ask that you not pick which baby turtle appears to your character. This will give us the ability to share the threads amidst the turtles and to best juggle any cross-dream shenanigans that may happen.
[The night is cool and calm, the perfect atmosphere in which a fleet of baby turtles may test out their fledgling powers of the dream. They reach out to wander in and out of dreams, curiosity flaring at every new thing that they discover.
Why?
It remains their favourite question, asked time and again as they adjust to this strange world that they have come into. But Keeliai, for all its finality, is but a city and they want to know more.
Where?
The Foreigners are not from here, but from there. Where? There! And they want to know more, so they descend upon their dreams with a flurry of interest, reaching out to those with a receptive mind. At times, they crash through into the dreams, for they are as familiar with dream travelling as they are with doors. They will be apologetic for their haste and quick to headbutt the first dreamform they see, if only to prove that they still love you!]

...Asti?
c: alex
No. Napoleon! [Then, with great curiosity:] What is an Asti?
no subject
Then he saw the pink bear cub and smiles.]
Asti's the big turtle we live on. He's a friend of mine.
no subject
[The bear disappears in an explosion of pink fur to help his brothers in Korra's dream, then is back in what seems like only one half second, in the same form and on the same island.]
I had to help. [He says this as though there is total sense in the words.]
Does anyone know Asti?
[This is a question he states aloud, hearing back a series of replies from his brothers and sisters before he can answer Mark properly.]
We live on a turtle. Emily-Helen says it is named Asti, but Raphael called her a liar. Raphael likes playing jokes, so I think she is right and he is wrong. [He crosses his fuzzy arms.] I do not know an Asti. How did you meet him?
no subject
[Sits cross legged in the air so he's eye-to-eye with the pink bear.] Well, they could both be right. Asti is his name like Napoleon is yours, but people also call him Tu Vishan. It's possible Raphael hasn't heard Asti's real name yet. [He smiles.] I'm sure you will soon, now that you guys can do this. I met him just like I met you--he popped into my dream to say hello.
no subject
[Together, for their powers are fledgling and not always able to function on one's own.]
Tu Vishan? [That sounds different.] I am Tel Vishan! We are Tel Vishani! But we do not know a Tu Vishan.
[He concentrates, amplifying his voice.]
Asti! Hello! I am Napoleon! Can I meet you? We are turtles and should be friends! I will wait with this person until you get here.
[The call reverberates through this and other dreams, reaching out for this turtle. Then, he is quite happy to focus on Mark again.]
I have never dreamed before. Do you dream a lot? Is it always this pretty?
no subject
[Mark nearly falls over from laughing.] Well that's one way to get his attention. I hope it works, I'd love to see Asti again.
I dream all the time. They used to be not so nice dreams, but just like you fixed someone else's dream, Asti fixed mine. Now they're always nice. [He looks around the island.] Not always. Most of the time I'm flying. Sometimes I'm back home.
no subject
[The little pink cub claps his hands together and dances around in a circle, looking expectantly up into the sky. There is a great turtle here and he is going to meet it! Everyone will be jealous, but he will share it with them when it happens.]
You fly? That sounds like fun! Can I fly? Will you let me fly in your dream? I have never flown. It sounds like fun!
no subject
[His laughter fades to chuckles, but he finds himself looking up at the sky with the little cub. He wasn't kidding when he said he wanted to see Asti again.]
I don't know, can you? [Floats higher into the air.] Flying is totally fun. You should try it, if you can. If not, I can take you.
no subject
Yes!
[The announcement comes with a jump -- and a crash as he hits the ground face-first. He falls flat and rolls onto his back.]
That did not work. It is not fair! Rio'era and Marcelon flew in their dreams!
[He picks himself up off the ground and tries again. And crashes again.]
How do you fly?
[Sniffle.]
no subject
I just... do. [He lands beside him and helps him back up.] See, I'm not all human. I'm also part something called Viltrumite, and they can all fly. It's like asking me how I breathe. I just... do it. [He gave him a small smile.] I could take you until you figure it out.
no subject
Yes! Please! Flying looks fun and I want to have fun while we wait for Asti!
no subject
Flying is totally fun.
no subject
Vroom! I am flying! This is so much fun! Why would you walk if you could fly?
no subject
no subject
I will never walk again!
no subject
I could totally take you flying when we wake up. You're a bit bigger there, but I'm pretty strong if I do say so myself. [A pause.] Well, after I figure out how to carry you. You are a bit awkward shaped for a human to grab...
no subject
Oh. I am a turtle in Life. That will make it hard. [Trigger: Pout.] I wish I was always a pink bear. It is fun. I would hang out with you all the time and fly.
no subject
Hey I can carry a turtle. I just have to figure out a way to carry you in such a way you're comfortable too. [Loop the loops.] Why do you like being a pink bear?
no subject
That is because pink is bright and bears are fuzzy! I like fuzzy things! Blankets and jackets and animals and these bear things. They are so comfortable and fit everywhere.
[The words of a turtle that has destroyed at least one wall in his day.]
no subject
So who are your parents? Er... the people who looked after you? I help look after Eshai.
no subject
[He is looking down at the ground beneath them, kicking his feet delightedly.]
Mine are named Arthur and Zelgadis and Marry-Us Punt-Mercy!
[A beat, then:]
Eshai is my sister! Do you like her?
no subject
I think I know Zelgadiss, but I can't say I recognize the other names...
And yes, I like Eshai a lot.
no subject
[His attention wavers at the slightest thing and his paws are making grab gestures at the water.]
My people are nice! They are different, like you. But they cannot fly. They are different in different ways.
no subject
Well everyone's different, and not all the foreigners are human.
