Situation: Tu Vishan has come to a rest at the edge of a previously unexplored continent.

The empty coastline and rocky beach they disembark to seems untouched, and fish school plentifully in the shallows without fear, something that the kedan are quick to take advantage of.

Once they move away from the shoreline, the landscape quickly turns to savannah scrubland, the arid sand a deep ochre colour. The grasses that grow there are thin and spindly, adapted to what appears to be a lack of water. Although the temperature is cool -- though not cold, despite the lateness of the month in a northern hemisphere -- it would be easy to extrapolate that it would be extremely dry and hot in the summer months.

Like the schools of fish, the wildlife here seem untroubled by the presence of newcomers, unless overtly threatening moves are made toward them. In addition to a host of different types of birds -- which all seem to be hunting each other, and openly cannibalistic -- there are a few types of species which become familiar sights to explorers.

Some three miles inland, well within the range that Tu Vishan's protective aura extends to power the soul gems, a city stands quietly, surrounded by a massive wooden stockade. There are no roads or trails which lead to it, as if the city was simply dropped from the sky. This wall is hewn from logs larger than most have ever seen in their lives -- easily as big as the oldest redwoods or sequoias on earth, and many larger even than that.

They've all been cut precisely, ingeniously locked together so that no bindings or fillings have needed to be used to hold it together. Certainly, they're nothing like the scraggly, bent things seem to be growing in the area, which are only deemed trees by virtue of being marginally taller than bushes. The height of the wall is easily fifty feet, encompassing a square area of approximately a mile on each side, and there is one gate which is closed, but not locked, and is in impeccable shape.

As if the deserted (abandoned?) city isn't eerie enough, the curious among the Foreigners will find things -- items, circumstances, events -- which only cause more questions. Aomu Eilra is truly a puzzle waiting to be solved!

While exploring one of the longhouses, Conan will find a children's picture book in pristine condition, looking like it's never even been opened, and written in the same Cyrillic language.

The book is quite short; and focuses on the names and spellings of the three main wildlife species: Bibiru, Munga, and Aphaufa. Strangely, the sizes of the three are switched around: the Munga are the size of the Bibiru, the Aphaufa are the size of Munga, and the Bibiru are the size of the Aphaufa.

At some of the stores (or what seem to be stores, given the empty shelving) there is money in the tills. They are stone coins etched with a variety of Cyrillic-marked denominations, and are in various states of wear -- some so worn that their engravings are almost gone, but others so sharp edges they may have been carved yesterday.

One for Peter!

Behind one of the longhouses, Peter will come across a six-sided top that will only spin counterclockwise and will just immediately fall over going the other way, covered in strange symbols. The symbols are letter-like in appearance, and each side of the top is a 3/4-inch square with room for four symbols.

Some of the symbols appear on multiple faces, but not in the same orientation; the repeated symbols will be rotated between 45 and 90 degrees from their counterparts. While the symbols are reminiscent of the Cyrillic alphabet seen elsewhere in the city, they all have some slight variation on the original alphabet.

Sure!

While exploring the amphitheater building, Rey and Kylo will unearth a mask made of some kind of red clay, that is extremely simple in shape (two eyes and a mouth made from a circle of coiled clay).

When worn, strange whispers can be heard. If worn by others, the voices go silent unless the mask is passed into their possession. If worn for a long period of time, the whispers will continue after it’s removed and may become more coherent, and talking about all the little things your character is insecure about.

Pepper will find a set of windchimes hung in one of the longhouses, far from any window. The sound it makes when it’s set to motion is like the shattering of glass. It refuses to make any sound whatsoever when not inside a building, or when near an open window, even if something is knocked against it. There is a small word written in Cyrillic at the top, which translates to ‘breath’.

In one of the longhouses, abandoned not on a table but in a corner near the door, Sonja will find a bracelet of glass beads that contain what appears to be different parts of plants and animals native to the continent. The bracelet has a nasty habit of fusing shut, such that the clasp cannot be undone except in moonlight. It’s also extremely difficult to attempt to remove by other means such as pliers or cutting tools, and no standard tools will succeed. If she does try to remove it during the day, she will experience nightmares featuring the creatures encased in the glass. If she leaves the bracelet untouched, she'll find that the native fauna are more friendly towards her than others.

Hung near the door of one of the empty stores, as though it was simply waiting for someone to pick it up before heading out again, the Stalk will find a neat coil of rope. It's about six feet in length, with some strange writing on it, the same mostly-Cyrillic script as many of the other things in this place exhibit. When held, there is a whispering, just beyond the edge of hearing, that sounds like a list - possibly of names, or names of places. Some of them sound almost familiar, and some don't, but the familiar and the unfamiliar will never be in the same list.

Carrying the rope around for a significant period of time will give her a serene feeling as though nothing in the world matters.

Danny will stumble -- literally -- over a box of recipes in the kitchen area of one of the longhouses. The recipes inside, for a change, will be legible to him, appearing in his native language. When made, the recipes will create plain looking food, though upon tasting will seem a sumptuous feast. The measurements are strange, though -- 5/13 of a cup, a shadow of a pinch -- and if any steps are done out of order, the food will be gag-worthy instead. In other words, it's vital that the recipes be as perfectly followed as possible. The ones toward the front have annotations in a different, unreadable language, in exceptionally black ink. These get sparser and vanish by a third of the way through the box. Maybe the writer got bored, and maybe...

Alex will find a wooden carving of a fat man holding a serpent-like creature. If a small piece is removed, it will reveal a phial of most deadly poison. The poison is an exceptionally volatile neurotoxin, and labeled with a bright red X as though to indicate danger. When the piece is removed, however, the fat man's expression changes to dismay, and it seems like the serpent is closer to him than before. If the poison is used without being returned to the carving, or spends too much time out of the carving in general, the serpent will 'kill' the fat man, and the wood will slowly begin to smell of decaying flesh.

While exploring an area inside the compound where nothing has been built -- although the placing of the cleared area suggests it was meant to be -- Peridot will come across one piece of crockery lying in the dirt. While identical to many others in the longhouses, this one appears to have been broken and put back together repeatedly, despite many similar pieces being in perfect condition. If an unbroken piece were to accidentally shatter, within a few minutes it would be repaired seamlessly but the well-fractured piece would gain a new crack.

A set of bone keys left on an otherwise empty desk drawer in one of the longhouses, they do not seem to fit into any lock in the city, if one were to try. There are three keys on a leather-strap ring, each a slightly different length. One key has a very simple shape and appears worn down by repeated use. The second and smallest key is finely carved, almost ornate, like it might open a jewelry box or something similarly sized. The third key is the longest and also the widest; rather than having ridges, the bone has a series of holes punched into it with serration at the edges that is also sharp enough to serve as a knife in a pinch.
