I want to swim away but don't know how
Characters: Finnick Odair, everyone who was interested from this post, and OPEN.
Date: Backdated to around the day of the post and over the weekend, since there was a lot of interest
Location: On a boat. On the ocean. On the shell's edge? Idek.
Situation: Fishiiiiiiiiiing.
Warnings/Rating: Innuendo, for sure. Will edit if needed.
[Since arriving on Tu Vishan, Finnick's felt like he's going to explode. Like one day, he'll just not get out of bed again. Thankfully, the pull of the ocean is stronger than his need to simply stop existing for awhile. Fishing is as natural to him as breathing, and while he had really wanted to have quiet time to himself, he likes that so many people are interested in either joining him or having him teach them how it's done.
He likes that a lot more than being alone. He can't be alone anymore.]
[ooc: so feel free to assume whatever day you want to go out with Finnick. With so much interest in the post, I figured this would be the easiest way of doing it rather than having everyone come out all on one trip/one day, yada yada. c:]

Lost in his thoughts, it takes him a moment to notice the frost on the rope, the slight dip as if someone were touching it.] Glad you could make it.
[There's really only one person who it could be.]
no subject
Thanks for the invitation.
[ He leaned down to draw a smiley face on the plank seat across from Finnick to convey what he'd just said. ]

Say something again.

[ Jack's eyes widened when Finnick started replying to his remark, his steps fumbling on the rope so that he slipped off it, landing in the bottom of the boat with a bump but more occupied with staring at the older one. ]
Did you... did you hear me just now? Can you hear me?

Stretching slightly as he waits, Victor looks around to see if he can spot Finnick.]

So as he's walking up and notices the green-skinned boy, he thinks nothing of it. Until he continues to get closer, noticing other things about him that might be more imagination than reality. Because the more Victor comes into focus, the more Finnick thinks about the sewers. The more he swears he can smell the stench of roses choking him.
The more he remembers the sounds of the mutts behind them, the screams of their victims.
He stops moving, hands trembling as he stares at Victor.]

Hey, man. I thought I was late.
[He hasn't noticed that anything's wrong yet.]
no subject
There's only one though. There's only one. Why is there only one? Is this a punishment? Why is it talking?
It takes him a moment, but he finds his voice.] What kind of mutt are you?
no subject
The question makes him blink and give Finnick a confused look.]
What did you just call me?

Eventually, she notices the boat - and the person in it - and waves.]
Fishing, huh? [Her Prince liked to fish, but she herself had preferred to stand at the docks to watch and cheer him on.
BEST MINIGAME EVER]no subject
I've gotten a pretty good catch already. [His head tilts.] Want in on it?
no subject
Still, he wasn't the kind of guy that would back down from a challenge, even when he put it on himself, and if Finnick really wanted to claim that this was enjoyable, then he'd have to prove it.
So when the sun starts to set, because there's no way Santo was waking up before noon, the large rocky mutant is heading out to the edge, carrying some drinks and snacks with him.]
Do you have enough spears for the two of us?
no subject
He figures it's best to be prepared.] Not to worry. I only need the one spear. [He flashes a grin at Santo.] The rest are for you, buddy.
[Boredom and impatience are one thing, but Santo's size and general non-human appearance made him wonder about the possibility of actually breaking the spears. If there had been time, he'd have carved a thicker one.]

He walks over and sets the food and drinks down next to Finnick, obviously offering him to take whatever he wanted. It was a trade, and as close as an apology for the waste of time Finnick might consider this when they don't catch anything.
Picking up one of the spears, he tosses is in his hand, feeling the balance of it. He's know all that worried about breaking it, used to having to use a gentle touch, as long as he didn't have to balance on the tool or anything.]
Alright, brofessor. Where do we start?
no subject
[Finnick glances down at the drinks before picking one up curiously and gives an experimental sip. It's all about the paranoia, man.] There are a few shallow pools around here where some fish end up.
[Inclining his head towards the right, he walks a few feet until he's standing in the pool.] You want to be still once you get in, let the fish become accustomed to your presence. They'll forget you shouldn't be there after awhile.
no subject
And seriously, bro, if Santo wanted to kill you, he'd be so manly about it and not use poison. He also probably wouldn't have helped out with the zombies either...]
Seriously? That's all it takes? [Seriously, Santo was expecting some kind of crazy technique that would be tough to figure out. But if it was just standing still.] That doesn't sound all that hard.
[Nevermind that he can't help splashing as he first steps into the pool.]

starting at home 'cause she'd offer to fly them out
sounds good to me *u*
He smiles at her when he opens the door, gaze flickering over her quickly before glancing back up.] It's not everyday I that beautiful women knock on my door.
[Because Johanna and Katniss just barge in like jerks.]
no subject
Oh yeah? I think I can pick up the slack there.
[He is easy on the eyes and she is okay with that.]
Ready to head out?
no subject
I can get used to living around here.
[He nods, grabbing up the bundle of things they'll need for fishing.] I'm ready.
