Closed(ish) Investigation team tinies

Situation: The tiniest self-organized investigation team in action?
Warnings/Rating: Tinies dealing with adult things; violence possible.

Damian had seen Evandau's message, of course. He had reported - as Robin - for at assignment work, but there was nothing for him. Then he waited around for the assignments to be completed.

Neither Bean (or Ender) nor Grayson were put into teams.

Well, then. At least this way he was going to keep an eye on them. And he was sure they could find something odd to investigate. If there were, what, two dozen and more things wrong? There would be one more, he was sure.

Five are a team

Of course, it was not just Damian, Grayson, and Bean. Ender was a logic addition, and Zatara... as Rayner had informed him that he was going to be under cover, Damian guessed she could join them, rather than remain alone and vulnerable.

So five of them did go out, asking question. And, yes, there was something odd in Water Sector.

ooc: This one is for settling down of the five who more or less know each other. Including Bean and Ender reactions to the two Robins, if wanted!

Bean was surprised when not one, but two people claiming to be Robin showed up at his suite. It was clear just from speaking to them which one was the one he'd spoken to on the Nets, and he quickly aligned himself with that one, though never revealing himself as Julian.

He was glad to get out and involved, and glad to have Ender along as well. The girl was new, and Bean was still forming an opinion of her. But all in all it felt good to get out of his suite for a change.

He was staring at her. Somewhat. Glances had been thrown her way. It might not've been the most obvious of staring, but it was obvious enough to her.

Zatanna had only been mildly surprised when two boys even younger than the other Robin showed up. Of course. Why not? She didn't question, if only because no one else did.

"...if you have something to say, might as well get it out now." She gave a faint grin in his general direction. Her tone was casual, like there was little he could do or say that would actually bother her. "Otherwise this is going to be a really, really long mission."

He was surprised at being caught out, but then again he wasn't being very subtle in his measure of her.

"I don't know you," he opts to say. "I was merely trying to assess your place on this... team, of sorts."

Just like the other Robin.

She was honestly tempted to ask if the two of them were related.

"And I don't know you, either. So I guess that makes us even." Straightforward and to-the-point, but with a hint of playful tone behind the otherwise truthful statement. "Though I'd be more than a little impressed if you actually could figure out what I can do just by looking at me. Most people at least try to ask a few questions first."

"Alright then." If she wants questions, she can have questions. "What is it you can do? Or are you one of many who can no longer do what they normally could? And how do you know Robin? Either one."

"You don't waste any time, do you?"

Though, to be fair, she had challenged him. Challenge Accepted, she supposed.

"Alright, in order...I think..." since her memory wasn't quite as good as some, "I can do magic. Yes, my powers are temporarily gone...and no, that's not going to stop me from helping out. I know the older Robin because we're from the same world, and I know the younger Robin because he keeps following me around everywhere."

...okay, so that last one might've been a slight exaggeration. But not a total lie.

"Is there time to waste?"

The look on Bean's face makes it clear what he thinks of "magic," but he doesn't say anything. "Are you a superhero?" Because he's pieced together from talking to Damian and various others what certain worlds are like, and the Robins seem to be superheroes.

Which just makes Bean wonder what Damian is doing in all this.

SIX are a team.

What Damian had not counted on (and he didn't know that any of the others had), was that somebody else might have found some of the same leads. The girl was younger than Grayson, but looked. Bossy. He remembered her from the network. Egyptian magician? Something like that.

Well. She was not very magic-y now, was she? He was going to make her go home and stay safe.

(Or he was going to try.)

And Sadie was not having it.

"Look, I quite frankly don't care who you masked loons think you are," she snapped. She was mostly speaking to the two dressed up like something out of a comic book movie. Really, what century was this? "I've been tracking down this funny water business for a few days now and there is no way any of you are telling me I can't because--what, I don't run around in tights?"

She tried not to laugh. She even went the whole nine yards by both covering her mouth and turning away. Clearly, not even two highly proteges of Batman would be able to tell.

"Actually, the tights are optional," said the girl who, when normally in uniform herself, also had a habit of wearing them. For the moment, however, she was only dressed in her khaki pants and light purple top. No uniform. No point. "Which, I guess, says even more than if they weren't."

"Unless you are a gymnast or a dancer, tights are just awful," Sadie grumbled. "Or it's really, really cold but you want to wear a cute skirt anyway." She gave the Robins a Look. "And since it's not cold and you are in cute skirts, you have no excuse and I am not letting you boss me around. I am going to keep looking into this funny sickness and you are not going to stop me."

"So who's bossing you around?"

"No one, obviously." She'd like to see anyone try and boss her around. Everyone who had tried so far had failed miserably, even Carter.

"Yeah, I didn't think so." She spared a glance back towards the younger Robin. But only a glance, so that he couldn't glare too hard at her directly. Which she was pretty positive he was doing. "Try not to think too much of it, really. He does that to everyone. Present company definitely included."

Okay, this is getting out of hand.

"We're just concerned about your safety, that's all." He hates using 'we're' but he can't leave Damian out in the cold.

"As for us 'loons,' we have years of training in martial arts and investigation."

Investigations, keeping each other safe...

He could not be with all of them all the time, of course. But he at least tried to make sure that none of them were alone, as much as was plausible. Because the two magicians were sans their powers, because Bean seemed a little slower than usual, and, overall...

Damian would never admit to worrying, but he was concerned. Most definitely.

Robin was-- well not quite stalking but definitely following a kedan. More specifically, one of the kedan that had fallen ill two days ago. He seemed fine now, more or less.

Robin didn't want to approach just yet. Instead, he's following along on the rooftops. Something about this illness is very, very off.

Damian was keeping an eye on people. Which meant that, once somebody of those he kept an eye on was settled (such as Bean and Ender), he went out looking for the next one.

Like Grayson.

He caught up with the older Robin when the other boy was still and waiting for his kedan to come out of a building. Damian was still for a moment, then.

"I'll look around for other exits."

He's not surprised to see Damian. The younger Robin was practically his second shadow, and Dick knew why. So he couldn't exactly begrudge Damian his little bit of safety, but it still sometimes felt like he had an overprotective nanny following him around.

Dick nods.

"There is one on the side, a back door, and a garage door around back."

He did scope out the place, tyvm.

Good. Damian nods, approving, and perches beside Grayson, implicitly approving at his current vantage point and at the same time ready to spring into action at the fall of a feather.

"Has he even left the sector?"

It's maybe a relevant question, okay?

"Arrived an hour and a half ago, hasn't left since."

He rolls his stiff shoulders.

"Find anything on your end?"

"Not much. Their actions still don't add up. And don't make sense. Why report something you do to yourself?"

Damian might be a trifle frustrated by the whole situation. But he is frustrated quietly, his attention still partly on the house they're watching.

Beat.

"And, while they keep on doing what they do, they don't... extend it to friends or family."

Usually, at least some of the types they are watching would be feeding somebody else what they're taking. Offering it to friends, coaxing girlfriends to take it...

... wouldn't they?

"They definitely know what they're doing is dangerous. Any evidence that they're being coerced?"

Dick has tailed them, both in and out of costume, and hasn't seen anyone threatening the sick kedan.

The younger Robin looked it his makeshift team, eyes safely hidden behind whiteout lenses.

"So. What do we have, so far?"
