Closed(ish) Investigation team tinies

Situation: The tiniest self-organized investigation team in action?

Damian had seen Evandau's message, of course. He had reported - as Robin - for at assignment work, but there was nothing for him. Then he waited around for the assignments to be completed.

Neither Bean (or Ender) nor Grayson were put into teams.

Well, then. At least this way he was going to keep an eye on them. And he was sure they could find something odd to investigate. If there were, what, two dozen and more things wrong? There would be one more, he was sure.

"You'll need a lookout-- someone to make sure nobody happens upon your ambush. We don't want to draw too much attention."

Putting them on alert would be very, very bad for their plan.

"That'd work better."

He might have, possibly, assumed that Dick would be up for something like this course of action.

"On the other hand, I'm not sure how much attention they would like to draw."

"Depends on how stupid they are. Causing a scene won't help them either. Not that that's stopped people before."

He speaks from a lot of experience.

"What if their goal is disruption and confusion? Then it wouldn't be stupidity, would it?"

It's a random example.

As far as Damian knows.

"I'm not sure they want to draw Evandau's attention. The police breathing down their necks would put a kink in their operation."

The front door to the building opens, and three kedan walk out. Two stand near the door, trying to look casual, but they're clearly lookouts. The other is walking around back. Another lookout, probably.

[demon_brat]

"If there are no charges to hold them on... Hhn." But the sound is quiet, and cuts off as soon as the door opens.

Damian's attention snaps to the kedan down on the street, and he lowers himself closer to the roof, watching.

He doesn't look over at Dick, but he knows that, if there is any motion, they'll do what needs to be done. It's how they have been trained, after all.

Dick crouches down lower on the roof, watching intently. So far, nothing's happening. But there are definitely lights on in the warehouse when, theoretically, no one would be in there.

"How do you want to play this?"

He's gotten better at working with other people since the Team was founded. Even if Damian knew him well and had similar training, it didn't hurt to communicate.

Damian tilts his head, slightly.

"With or without the house searched?"

... what. They could totally do the search as well as tracking... or taking down.

"Search before, take them out after. That way they won't get a chance to 'clean up' before we go in."

If they cause a ruckus, the kedan are likely to know something's up and start hiding the evidence.

[demon_brat]

"Affirmative."

He's quiet as a shadow when he hops across to the rooftop of the house in question. Maybe he had less flair, but he is efficient.

Dick can't exactly turn off his swag flair. But he stays in the shadows and follows Damian silently. Fortunately or unfortunately, there's no skylight, but there is a door to access a stairwell. That's one possible entry point.

Damian nods, moving ahead, to look over the edge on the other side of the building, just in case. Then he steps again, guarding Grayson's back, batarangs at the ready.

Dick checks to make sure the coast is clear before quietly descending the steps. He could rappel down the stairwell, but that would make him a target, if there were a bunch of guys at the bottom. No, he'd play it smart. Proceed patiently.

About halfway down, they hear voices.

"I told you not to go flashing it around! You're gonna get us noticed."
