I'm almost a hundred percent sure it's his default state.

They only seem to get ticked off if we do something to give them a reason. Other than that, they tolerate us, so I'm not about to do anything stupid to change that.

Not everyone shares that philosophy, but then again I think they spend more time trying to annoy each other than the locals.
