Situation: The population of Keeliai could use a little warmth. So Chekov set stuff on fire and invited everyone over.

On Wednesday, everyone received the following audio message (and text attachments in English and Russian) from (1) Pavel Chekov in their inboxes:

“Hello. I would like to invite you to a bonfire in Earth sector on Friday at sundown. Please feel free to bring friends.”

Situation: Bart has used the power of stubbornness to come up with a possible solution to The Hot Dog Problem Part 1: How to make the casing. Also, in a world without a costume shop, zombie makeup: what do?
Warnings/Rating: None so far!

[It's a nice day in the Metal Sector. The weather is beautiful, and the air is so crisp that, when the wind hits just right, it feels like apple cider tastes. Everyone's outside, enjoying autumn.

Almost everyone, that is. Bart Allen has been holed up indoors for most of his free time this week. He's got a lot of stuff to do right now. For one thing, he's trying to isolate cellulose from plant materials in an effort to make viscose, which he's read can be used to make artificial casings for sausages and franks. The cellulose is mundane, but the chemicals used in the process are caustic. Some are even explosive. The real problem is that he doesn't have all the necessary chemicals and equipment, so he's trying to make do.

Those who drop by ME-3A while he's working on it might be treated to, uh, interesting smells and bangs. Several pots have already been sacrificed.

But he's not only playing mad scientist as the days to Halloween tick down. Bart's also working on makeshift costume makeup - namely, to get himself looking as close to a zombie without resorting to actual blood. Clark told him that Invincible's partial to them and practically dared him to try and scare the guy. Challenge accepted. He's agreeable to help with the getup, and he's looking for unsuspecting people to try it out on.]

Location: The City of Keeliai
Situation: The rationing is officially lifted and the kedan are celebrating by conducting one citywide yard sale! Think big! Think small! Think tribbles! Think all!
Warnings/Rating: Tribbles. Lots of tribbles. Please indicate content warnings in subject headers as applicable.

The morning of the 21st kicks off with heralds roving about the city of Keeliai to declare that the rationing edict has been lifted and that citizens no longer have to contribute one-fifth of their productions (juulan or physical goods) to the communal stores maintained by the police force. These announcements trigger a state of celebration across the city as kedan drag months worth of hoarded items to the street to sell, steal, or trade in a wave of mercantile goodness that stretches for nearly a week. Not even the rising tide of tribbles seems to dampen their spirit, with kedan citywide finding new and inventive uses for the fuzzy paperweights.

Characters are free to do as they will during this event, with police oversight relaxed in the aftermath of the long rationing and strained relations. Impromptu sales out of suites will rarely be inspected and purchase made elsewhere are no longer monitored. Everyone is taking a breath of fresh air, so to speak, and most do not want their first fun in months to be ruined.
