Location: various
Situation: Catchall log for late July with both Miles as himself and as Spidey
Warnings/Rating: N/A, will edit as appropriate

Uh, yeah. Thanks. New Spidey, new suit.

[Is he even allowed to ask that or is he going to break time doing so...]

[--Wow. The news is enough of a shocker that Scott almost slips off his ant before yelping and yanking himself back up. Spidey? Dead? He doesn't even know the guy well but he'd always seemed like the kind of guy that would always be around, making dumb stupid jokes.
And he'd seen him just last week, so unless this is some kind of future thing....]
How old was he? Uh, if you know.
no subject
[Miles shrugs.] Not that old. Not as old as some universes, but older than others. [Man this alternate universe thing is going to make him go crazy.]
no subject
Maybe not, but Spidey was - is a friend no matter what universe. [Scott makes a face, not that it's visible underneath the Ant-Man helmet.] It's like finding out some different version of me died. It's weird is what it is, and I've already died once.
[That's not the point though.]
So...you been doing this whole spandex thing for long?
no subject
A few months. Ever since... you know.
no subject
Once. I'd really like to not repeat it, if that's okay. It's not--hang on.
[While he's gotten quite used to riding flying ants, Maggie the not-quite-ant hasn't gotten used to staying in one place for long and is getting quite anxious. Clearly, it's time for Scott to resize himself and let her on her merry way.
Hopping off the ant onto whatever surface Miles happens to be, Scott does a little roll to soften the landing before releasing the Pym particle gas and expanding up to a normal size.]
Sorry about that - Maggie was getting antsy.
[HAHA SEE WHAT HE DID THERE. Anyway. Scott's frowning underneath his helmet, not that Miles can see it well.]
But that's not very long. And you don't look very old. No offense.
no subject
And Miles is getting pretty sick of people pointing out his age.]
No offense, but some taken. I'm fine. I can handle myself.
no subject
Yeah, that's what they all say until they get themselves blown up and killed.
[The words come out a little more sharply than he intends for them to, a fact he realizes shortly after he utters the sentence. He sighs and droops a little, a silent partial apology for his words.]
Sorry but--I've seen it happen. And not just with kids. Occupational risk, I know....but you guys have your whole life ahead of you. More than us old geezers do.
no subject
I know the risk. You can't make me quit.
no subject
Hey, hey, no pressure for you to quit from this end.
[Even if there's nothing more that Scott would like for all people under the age of 21 to stop being superheroes. He knows it'll never happen though (and he thinks he'd lose some respect for anyone who didn't try to fight against that) so he doesn't push.]
Just....making sure you know, okay? Your parents [assuming they're even here] are the ones who get a say anyway, not me.
no subject
Well, they're not here, and... anyway, I know how dangerous this is. I get it. [He watched his uncle die.]
no subject
Hopefully it'll be less dangerous here than back home. [Someone hasn't really heard about Malicant yet.] Plus you've got a lot of great role models here.
no subject
[He gives him a Look.]
Would you be counting yourself in those role models, Mister Bug Dude?
no subject
[The question is legitimately surprising and there's a long moment of silence as Scott tries to wrap his head around what he considers to be an almost ludicrous question.
Him as a role model? Ahahahahaha he couldn't even get eight-year-olds to listen to him, he would be the world's worst role model. Once a time, he might have considered himself halfway decent but with recent events? Forget it.
But it's not exactly flattering to be self-deprecating in front of a 13-year-old kid so Scott shoves all of that to the side and opts for something a little more reasonable.]
Nah, I think there are way better here than me. Like Captain America or Ms. Marvel. Also it's Ant-Man, not Mister Bug Dude. Which is probably another reason why I would not be a good role model.
[Because who wants to say that their role model is a guy named Ant-Man, seriously?]
no subject
Well anyway. Nice to meet you, I guess. From one Bug Dude to another.
no subject
Cap's a good guy. One of the best.
[Even though Scott's never gotten to know Captain America well - one of the downfalls of being a small guy on a big team - he knows that Steve Rogers is one of the best there ever was. His own preferences are biased towards those he knows better but even he can admit that Cap is something else.]
You can't ask him to train you here? There might be stuff going on but I wouldn've thought that sort of stuff is important to him.
no subject
Maybe I will. Thanks.
no subject
No problem.
[Scott stretches, gently looks from side to side.]
But I should probably get going now. Have some stuff at home I need to finish up.
no subject
See you 'round.
