Location: Sinbrilee
Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!
Warnings/Rating: Please label threads as appropriate.
Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.
This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.
Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).
Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

Now, he hadn't spoke with Wanda but he knew she was here, a different one to the one back home. Not that it mattered either way. He spotted her in what could only be described as a gorgeous gown and made his way over to her. He bowed slightly when he reached her and smiled as he held out a hand for her.]

So with her hand in his, he led her onto the dance floor, being careful and avoiding bumping into other people, keeping the way clear for Wanda herself.
After getting to a spot less busy he turns to her, keeping his hand turned up to cradle hers and takes a step in to place his other hand just above the small of her back.]
I haven't danced in a while, so I'll try my best to avoid any toes.

Kurt, please. Nightcrawler is my work name so it's not really needed here. I take it you know of, or know a version of me?

Yes, but only in passing. We've never played for the same team.
[She gives a tight smile, but her tone is such that it seems she's merely stating a fact. Wanda has no intention of talking about her Brotherhood days, or the capture and treatment of mutants, including Kurt, in her world. It's just assumed he will likely understand.]

So he continues to dance, sweeping across the dancefloor, still mindful of other couples dancing around them.]
I do, like you, we were never on the same team and I only had a few interactions. [One event in particular was memorable and yet he was sure this woman in front of him had heard all about it. That was one he had no intention of mentioning as it was a different person so there was no point.]
Though I always wished I could have spoken to her more. She always seemed like such a wonderful lady. I'm sure that's something that's shared with you.

[Letting him turn them about the floor, she decides to change the subject.]

Back home they're my family. I owe them everything. And you, are you with a team?

The Ultimates. I believe in other worlds they're known as the Avengers? My brother and I have been with them for a few years now.
[And through a few crises in the process. Things were slightly dysfunctional in ways, certainly no one on the team could be considered a wholly good person, but they got the job done and she felt like she fit with them in some ways more than she ever had with the Brotherhood.]
None of the team is here, unfortunately.

It's a difficult thing to make a decision on, is it good that they aren't here, having to go through the same hardships, or is it bad because having friends is always easier and a team is more likely to get things done.
[He felt like that. Like he missed his friends and selfishly wanted them to be here. But then there's remembering that things haven't always been fun and games on the turtle.]
Maybe some of them might show up.
