Event | Sinbrilee | Bacchanal

Characters: Any and all!
Date: August 24 - 30th
Location: Sinbrilee
Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!
Warnings/Rating: Please label threads as appropriate.

Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.

This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.

Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).

Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

[Krypton had its moments of celebration, but they were fairly austere, both by it being the manner of Kryptonian culture and being the product of a resource scarce world. What extravagance there were to them came from the clothing worn to such events. To that end, when Jor-El approaches Shockwave watching the dancers, he's wearing fairly ornate and embroidered robes in blue hues. Decorated, but not gaudy.]

Shockwave. I hope I find you well?

[The dancing is certainly something new to him, which is why he had approached to look closer. Finding Shockwave nearby is happy coincidence.]

( the robes catch shockwave's eye first, mostly because shockwave had taken to organic fashion in a way that would have concerned most cybertronians who weren't aware of shockwave's own predilection towards being perceived as 'beautiful' by others. the design, the color, the way the fabric moves - all committed to memory for use in the future. )

Jor-El, hello. ( shockwave smiles brightly at him, no different from normal. ) Quite well, and yourself?

I am doing well. [To an extent. Not that there are very many, if any, tells in the first place that this is not the entire truth.]

Have you had any success regarding the consoles?

[Shockwave's ideas with regards to modifying and improving the consoles had been quite interesting at the time and would be quite useful, if the primary limitation was able to be overcome.]

( none that shockwave can tell, and there's a brief flash of a smile at hearing that jor-el's been well. )

No, I've found myself occupied with ( shockwave's expression falls, for subtlety has never been a trait associated with the senator. ) other things of late.

That is unfortunate.

[Really, it is. It is always a shame when personal projects that could lead to new and interesting things have to be put aside for one reason or another.]

With any luck you will find the time to return to it in the near future.

I was hoping to get in contact with you earlier. I have some news you might find interesting.

Earlier this month, I spoke to Bruce Wayne, who runs one of the foreigner-run businesses. I will be working with his business with the goal of developing more advanced technology than what is present here. Work space and funding would be provided.

[A budget for funding is important, if for nothing else but to purchase materials. Having to work on smaller items not directly related to his goals in order to provide money for his own needs and for materials for later things is limiting.]

I certainly hope so - there's a rather significant amount of progress to be made.

( shockwave pauses at that, a frown flickering over the face of the holoform for a second or two.

for someone used to having an incredibly large amount of money to spend however one pleases and all the tools required at one's fingertips, the offer is tempting. shockwave could use that - and for helping those here on the turtle no less. it didn't mean that shockwave's own projects would be put on hold - those could still be worked on privately. as if there was anything to be secret about to begin with!

well, perhaps the holoform generator. )

Is he open to others contributing their knowledge and talents as well?
lookedtothestars: (Straight on.)

There is.

And yes, he is open to it. Furthermore, he is also allowing me to be in charge of finding others who would be willing to accept employment for this.

Would you be interested in joining me in this endeavor?

[He's fairly certain that Shockwave is used to technology that is similarly advanced, if not more so, if the encryptions offered on the network before were any indication.]

I would, yes.

( how could shockwave possibly say no? the lab half constructed in the upper floor of the suit assigned only goes so far, and while shockwave would continue to use it for all projects of a more... personal nature, there's nothing wrong with accepting the chance to have access to money and supplies. )

I'd like that very much.
