Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!

Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.

This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.

Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).

Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

[Seriously what the hell is up with all these redheads of the underage persuasion!?!??! Never let it be said that there isn't a type involved here. But moreso, it's because between the two of them, everyone should be dancing!

Everyone.] I think my feet are up to the challenge. I've been told I have toes like steel. [Dick grins.]

Besides, everyone should have the chance to dance tonight.

[Kyle's not sure, but even he's noticing the pattern. Maybe he just has a type. That's not a bad thing.]

We'll teach you. Couple of simple moves, and you can make up the rest. C'mon! It'll be fun.

[LOOK, REDHEADS ARE MUCH MORE EASILY SPOTTED. And with all that hair, Merida is hard to miss!

But now she's looking between the both of them nervously, but fitting in. That would be good, right? Right. Besides, it's not like anything more serious was being implied]

Nothing too complicated, don't worry. Question, though: do you like spinning? [Dick echoes Kyle for half of it. But the big question is definitely the spinning part. Because the best part of a dance is the spinning, isn't it?

He holds out his hand for her to take.]

I'm Dick, by the way, and this is Kyle.

I'm fine with spinnin'. [She curtsies a bit before taking Dick's hand.]

I'm Merida. It's nice t'meet y'both.

[imaginate]

[Spinning is very important, unlike that disagreement they all had about backflips. Kyle nods along, glad Dick's here. This has been a lot easier with him.]

It's nice to meet you too, Merida.

[He smiles at her. It strikes him that something about her voice is extremely familiar, but he shrugs. Must be the drink he had earlier.]

[He gestures to the dance floor.]

Shall we?

Aye, th'lady gives her permission t'dance.

[It's a bit teasing. She can't even imagine the look her mother would give her now.

Granted her mother would probably freak out to see her interact with so many people so freely. Oh well. Her loss.]

[Dick did ever mention he likes Irish accents, too? No? That should be stated. This girl was adorable! She was just really cute, maybe she would want to draw trees with Victoria, too. Or take her out to see trees, Dick got the feeling that this girl was a bold soul.

Which he respected, absolutely.] So, Merida, are you new here? I'm sure I would have remembered seeing you before.

[Dick grins.]

[Excuse you Dick. Kyle's Irish, and he knows Merida's speaking.. well not precisely English. He thinks it's Gaelic, which is maybe why it's not completely translating for him - he understands it.]

That, and how're you adjusting to y'know. Turtletopia?

I just got in t'day. Been tryin' t'take in everythin'. [There's a nervous laugh as she does her best to keep up.]

I've been told I'm one of th'--erm-- "earliest" people around here. Soooo, I've got a lot t'get used to.

[Oranges, electricity, toilets, OH MY!]

[Excuse you, Kyle, but it doesn't matter what she's saying, it's how she's saying it. And he's always loved that kind of accent. And he can understand her. Excuse you twice.]

There's a lot to take in, especially on your first day! But this is great, it's like we're having a party for your arrival. [He grins.]

Well, if you ever need help with anything, let me or Kyle know. We will help out in any way we can! Even if that means unclogging the toilet.

[Excuse you forever, bro, Kyle's just having a moment of nostalgia. His mother would probably love Merida, which is a bad sign. A very bad sign. It means she's the type of girl who'd have Kyle wrapped around her little finger, given the chance.]

Well, a very large party that's not specifically themed for you, but that's not a big deal.

[He winks at her.]

Or changing the lightbulb, or.. using the microwave. It takes a little getting used to but you'll be there in no time at all.
