Event | Sinbrilee | Bacchanal
Characters: Any and all!
Date: August 24 - 30th
Location: Sinbrilee
Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!
Warnings/Rating: Please label threads as appropriate.
Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.
This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.
Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).
Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

[She spoke over her shoulder as she leaned to the side, digging through Naga’s saddlebags.]
Here we go. [Sitting back upright, she held a camera in between her hands.] These are so much smaller than the ones back home. I was hoping to catch one of you Wayne boys here. Think the family would be willing to have a picture or two taken?
[She held it up in one hand with a simple smile.] Has film and everything, just needs you and your family.
thinking of making a seperate thread for picture getting, or something? not right now I'm tired
Taking the camera in his hands, he inspects it slowly.] This is like what we have at home... where did you get this?
[That was his first question, followed by a slow, almost maniacal grin.]
A picture of all the Waynes? In one picture? That would be great! [He pauses.] We'd have to find them all and get it done quick. Think you can help me round them up?
Sure, no worries~
[It's said as a completely honest question.]
Yeah, I know the other you, Damian, and I met Mr. Wayne recently. Should be easy enough to find.
[At the words "find", Naga's ears perk up and her head lifts off the floor.]
<333
[An honest answer. He doesn't need to say he's seen it, or that he's never heard of it before. But magic was everywhere.]
I think so! But you're forgetting some, there. My younger brothers, Tim and Jason.
no subject
Nothing.]
I've never run across either of them. [Not knowingly anyway.] Any other brothers I should know of? [Said with a smile. Half-joking, half-serious. Possible sisters hadn't even crossed her mind yet.]
no subject
All of his family.] No? They're both here, though... good luck with Jason. He's not a big people person.
[Not even a little. He shakes his head.] No other brothers, just a sister. Two sisters. It's complicated with one of those.
no subject
[She tilted her head and furrowed her brow.]
Wow, no shortage on the Wayne family, huh? I can find Dick and Damian, but you’re going to find Jason, Tim and your sisters. I have no idea what they look like.
[A beat.]
Um, Mr. Wayne too. I only talked to him once so… yeah. [Dropping off that somnacin at his office in the Metal Sector and talking to him on the network isn’t really what she would call being acquainted with him.]
no subject
But Dick laughs.] There's a lot of adoptions in our family. Wouldn't have it any other way. But both sisters aren't here... if they ever show up, we'll take another.
[He was about to say: Well, it's not really that hard to find them. They all have black hair and blue eyes. Seems like someone has a type. He's silent, though, and then gives her a nod.]
Don't worry, I've got Bruce. I'm not worried about him saying no. He's really the one who needs a picture of all of us together. Might do him some good.
no subject
Thanks for helping, I think a big family like yours could really use something like this, you know? [Adopted or not.]
no subject
We could all use something like this. I've got some photos in my wallet, but it's not the whole family... [He shifts forward, pulling his wallet out from his back pocket.]
It's a little useless, now, but I don't want to leave it in the apartment.
no subject
[Moving her neck so she angle her head to see the wallet properly, her eyes go over the pictures. Some faces she didn’t recognize, but there were a couple she did.]
If I had pictures of my mom and dad, I’d share them too. But I think I know what you mean. Too many of you to get together all at once like this, so this’ll help.
no subject
But he looks at her softly, a little sad. There were a few pictures, of him and Tim, him with Clark, the formal picture they'd done with Bruce, Dick, and Alfred, when he was young (god, he looked so young), and there were a few more, of friends that were just as close as family. Babs. Kori. Wally. Roy. Donna. Looking over the pictures again, he felt the old familiar sadness of not having them around.] Do you guys have pictures and things like this back home? But just don't carry them around in your pocket?
no subject
[Seeing Dick’s expression made her give a small, supportive smile and she put her hand on his shoulder.] Hey, those pictures are supposed to make you happy, and you need to look it for the photo.
[She stood up, slightly wobbling on her heels and straightened out her dress. If she could have just gotten away with wearing her boots…]
Come on. [She puts her hand out to help him to his feet.] We have to catch them before they decide to leave.
no subject
Oh no, no way. Now is not a good time for that, trust me. No one is ready for a picture, and I'm pretty sure there are a few that aren't even here.
[He takes her hand, though he doesn't really use her to get to his feet.] Can you stand in those heels? Now that we're up, I'd ask you to dance. [He grins.] But I don't want you breaking an ankle or something.
no subject
Oh fine. [She says with a smile.] Whenever you get the picture taken, show me a copy then.
[A slight flush about the heels comment comes across Korra’s cheeks, but she keeps her balance steady.]
Good thing our hosts want us to take off our shoes on the dance carpet. Now would be a good time to tell you I don’t know how to dance, wouldn’t it?
no subject
You will be the first, you've got my promise on that. [He waits a moment and then offers her his hand.]
I'm constantly amazed by how you girls can wear those things. So how about we both kick off our shoes, and I can teach you how to dance? [He smiles, kicking off his own.]
And more incentive: I can tell you about the time I wore heels.
no subject
[She grins at that. Ever since she met Damian and they spoke about Asami, Korra has been eager to see the Wayne family be a family. Vicariously being with her family by watching it.]
I’m ready to kick these shoes off forever honestly. [But she does raise an eyebrow.]
You didn’t…? [Not trying to laugh, she’s trying not to laugh at the mental image of Dick in some kind of dress and heels.]
no subject
It's a time honored tradition that everyone leaves a party with their shoes off. You should see a Gotham wedding. [He grins at her, raising his other hand in a shrug.]
I'm a better storyteller when I'm dancing.
no subject
[Not that he had too much choice in the matter seeing as how she’s already leading him over to the red carpet, where she can finally take off her heels.]
And in case that’s not enough of a challenge, there’s also the whole learning to dance thing. [She’s a quick learner if it’s something physical like fighting or dancing; as long is it doesn’t require a whole lot of patience.]
no subject
But he waits patiently for her to get those heels off (god, heels, why), and when they're on the dance floor he grins at her.]
Please, that's not even a challenge. You need to really come up with something harder then teaching someone how to dance. [He laughs.] Okay. Super easy. You put one hand on my shoulder, and the other one I hold.
no subject
Now I just have to not step on your feet, right? [Sometimes the hardest thing to do is ask for guidance with a straight face. At least she isn’t wearing heels anymore, her balance is so much better now.]
