Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!

Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.

This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.

Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).

Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

[There's a moment of brief scrutiny, and then Jim looks away. He always has been good at reading people.]

No forgiveness necessary. Judging by the people here it's definitely a little out there.

I'd kind of thought I was used to out there. [And he laughs to go along with it, because he kind of thinks he himself counts.

Didn't I just tell you you needed to get out more?

[leviathaned]

[You're just making him laugh more, Jim.]

Not all of us can go out into space. Some of us have to settle for a different continent than their hometown.

[Hands in the air in a gesture of surrender.]

Seriously, though, I think 'getting out' part of my agenda's pretty well covered by 'giant turtle city'.

[He snorts.]

[Did he just tip his hat at Jim and wink? Yes he did.]

[He makes a face.]

I don't know your name, kid, I'm going to have to start making one up.

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm older than you.

[A slight grin.]

Kirk. Jim Kirk, Starfleet. Captain of the USS Enterprise. Whatever that's worth here.

[He offers a hand!]

And seriously? Let me guess. Immortal? You're not a vampire, are you?

[leviathaned]

Sei. [He laughs, and doesn't bother to give his full name but he does return the handshake.]

Vampire? Oh god, no, I don't look that pale, do I?

[jirk]

[Handshake over, Jim raises his hand, fingers a tiny bit apart, universal sign for just a bit. You're pretty pale, bro.]

[leviathaned]

I'm appalled. I'll have to go tan.

[He presses the back of his hand to his forehead in mock despair, and then grins.] But no, not a vampire, I promise. Blood is nasty and I don't have any problem with crucifixes or churches.

[jirk]

See, I never really saw the point of tanning to begin with.

[But then he raises an eyebrow.]

Really? I thought it was supposed to be any religious iconography.
