Event | Sinbrilee | Bacchanal

Characters: Any and all!
Date: August 24 - 30th
Location: Sinbrilee
Situation: An ancient festival of an ancient city, all are welcome at the Bacchanal!
Warnings/Rating: Please label threads as appropriate.

Death and destruction cannot curtail the single most important festival celebrated by the denizens of Sinbrilee: The Bacchanal! The ghosts in and about the city have begun to gossip about high fashion and festivities, sending any that inquire to the Amphitheatre -- a grand, circular structure nestled in the west side of the city.

This structure bore the fall of Sinbrilee and the wear of time with dignity, having lost handfuls of archways and one long stretch of wall to crumbling decay. Despite this, it is obvious that the amphitheatre once hosted many a display and every more festivities than the mind can grasp. This was their solace and safety; here is where the people of Sinbrilee came to find the mind's escape from all that threatened them and their great turtle.

Ghosts have been busy throughout the week, clearing paths through debris and hanging great cloth banners of soft blues and greens to disguise the more blatant signs of its decline. Many hundreds of them shimmer and slid through the area, providing for tables upon tables of food, offering drink, and overseeing competition of sport and skill (some even denying death's non-corporeal curse to enter).

Here, well... Here is where the party begins!

When I started to tune her out. I think things she said stuck more when I was trying to ignore them.

[Billy eventually smiles back, albeit a small one.]

Don't worry, I'm not going to go around and tell everyone or anything like that. If you had powers, she wouldn't have been able to. [He's not gonna tell anyone. He won't. Still, he sort of hesitates a moment and then hugs Tommy.]

Seriously, if you need to talk, even not about that, you know you can talk to me, right? I haven't been here as long as you, but I don't mind.

[The hug catches him off guard and he squirms uncomfortably in Billy's grip.]

Yeah, yeah, I know, thanks. Just stop with the hugging-touchy-feely crap, okay?

[Now was not the time or place to be getting emotional. He does have a reputation to uphold, after all. Still, even if Billy might not know it, the gesture is appreciated. He's been needing one of these since he got out of that place.]

[Yeah, yeah, he knows you don't like this kind of thing. But there weren't too many people to hug around here, and you know what? He's allowed to hug his brother. His supposed brother, but Billy had no doubt whatsoever that he really was his brother. And anyone who said otherwise could go fuck off.]

Okay, okay. [He lets go with a smile.] Sorry for touching the sacred personage that is Tommy Shepherd.

[He backs a little but away as he teases.] So what now? Do you tell everyone that you beat the crap out of someone, or do you ignore it and eat all the food?
crotcharrow: (smug; grin; orly)

[He relaxes when Billy lets go and makes a point of dusting himself off before going for another skewer.]

Yeah, you better be sorry. Nobody gets all up on this.

[He pops the end of the skewer in his mouth.] I'm thinking for going for 'You should see the other guy' or 'I was being heroic and saving lives and all I got was this lousy shiner'. What d'you think?

Except Rikki, apparently. [Says wryly as he grabs a skewer himself. He totally meant the bruise. Not the other thing. Just the bruise.]

The 'you should see the other guy' is outdated and cliche. [He eats a piece slowly, before grinning at Tommy.] Also, everyone knows that if you say that you need to look at the other guy, that means you didn't win.

The other one is kind of stupid, but if it's between the two, I'd go with the second.
