[ It was so easy to do everything with magic. Travel long distances? Magic over there. Forget something at home? Magic it over. Deal with major crises? Magic his way outside of their path.

All great strategies, except for the time a human mage accidentally kicked reality in the balls and distorted everyone's everything. Except for this time, where Loki dared not fool with anything that might put him in a precarious position. He has a small green glass bauble on a thin ribbon when he finds himself up on Zatanna's rooftop, rolling it in the fingers of his left hand. Dressed in loose mortal fashions and alarmingly petite as he is, he's a singularly unimpressive godling. Even so, he was one that had moved with a certain alarming silence and stealth.

Hey, he wasn't coming up here without some sort of warding available to him.
]

Enjoying your fresh air, magician?

[ Loki shoves his hands in his pockets as he strolls over, inclining his head faintly. ]

Zatanna then. I suppose I should introduce myself better than I had the other day. I am Loki, son of the house of Odin and the blood of Laufey. I am a prince of Asgard, and the god of mischief and lies.

[ He says all of this with a practiced cadence as he walks over to her, and it carries an odd formality. Names had their own kinds of power, after all. He clearly intends to sit by his new magician friend that he only somewhat wanted to strangle. He wouldn't, couldn't, but he certainly did wish he could. ]

Nice to meet you formally and all that.
bacondivination: (excited; almost definitely lying)

[ Loki wants to harm a lot of people, though he hasn't done anything of the sort so far. He's been wanting to burn the city to the ground since he got here, and there was nary a fire started by him. ]

Really, it's more of a resume than anything else.

[ He shrugs his shoulders as he settles by her. ]
bacondivination: (concern; well you see)

I'm a very honest liar.

Now, tell me, are we making a deal or are you just going to share what you know freely? Either works for me.
bacondivination: (frown; so that's a no?)

Decent enough terms, though you really shouldn't blame me for beIng optimistic.

Alright, you picked up the local magic for a reason. You needed something. Gripping reality by its most gentlemanly of parts was to what originally desired end?

[ Loki whistles lowly, clearly visibly impressed. It's not a good sort of impressed. ]

All this to try to break some charms? You are the 'go big or go home' sort, aren't you?
bacondivination: (chatty; to be convincing)

Go big, then. I can actually respect that, oddly enough.

[ He casually shifts into her personal space to read what she'd been looking over. ]

So what was the spell, anyway? And do you read spells backwards often in your homeland?

[ That last bit had been sticking with him since she'd first taken credit for the spell-tastrophe. ]
