Nobody's tried to attack me, if that's what you're asking. It's all glares and demands for me to fix it, at worst. Nothing I can't handle myself.
no subject
All right. I still don't know why I have to get a bathing suit I'm probably never going to use again.
no subject
Because it's either that, or we go skinny dipping.
Which might be a little awkward, even for us.
[Or, you know, especially for them.]
no subject
All right. But let's not make it too... open.
no subject
...I know this is going to come as a shock to you, but you do have final say in what you're going to wear.
I'm just here to offer suggestions.
no subject
All right, I'm just saying. Lead the way and we'll pick something out so we can get to the actual fun part of today.
no subject
[gdi, Jack, stop being so pretty.]
[Lead the way she did, bringing the two of them to a large department store-esque building. A blast of AC hit them both as they entered, sending a wave of goosebumps across her skin. She rubbed at them absently, looking around in search of the women's department.]
This way.
[There were a lot of shoppers that day. Zatanna could only imagine how many people might be searching for temporary new wardrobes in the wake of everything that had happened.]
Here we go. Women's suits. Browse around and see what you like.
no subject
Is this something you do with your friends at home?
no subject
[Zatanna, meanwhile, was browsing through a selection of one-pieces. A lot of them had cutouts that...well, maybe in a few years, when she really was this age, she might consider. Maybe. But not for a day out with Jack, girl or boy.]
Hmm? [She glanced up from a selection of dark red suits.] Is what to do with them?
no subject
He pulled a red suit, regarded it for a moment, then shook his head and put it back. "They sure saved on material costs on some of these, huh..."
no subject
Sometimes, yeah. Not so much with the guys, I guess, but I'd never say no to a day out with Artemis or M'gann or some of my friends from school.
[The line of questioning, she found curious. Wondering if there was more to it than just making conversation.]
That's the point of bathing suits, Jack. They're meant to only cover up as much as is considered publicly decent.
no subject
[ It's said musingly, then he shrugs it off, pulls out another bathing suit and then puts it back when he realized little triangles really were all there was to it. ]
Okay, this is an area where I wish the kedan had gotten themselves a little less progressive...
no subject
[Finally taking pity on the poor boy...girl...on Jack, she puts back the selections she'd been glancing over and weaves her way through the clothing racks. Grabbing him by one hand, she guides him over to another section of the department.]
Try over here.
Maybe a one-piece will suit you better.
no subject
Oh, this one's not bad...
no subject
Hmm? Which one?
[She came up partially behind him, lightly placing her chin against his shoulder to get a better view of what he was looking at. It was nice being of similar heights, for once. Usually, Jack towered over her as much as most of the people she knew on the Turtle.]
no subject
What do you think?
no subject
Cute.
A little too 1950s for my taste, but cute.
no subject
[ Besides he liked the '50s, they were all about family. ]
So we're good?
[ He wanted to get out of the store. ]
no subject
They still do, actually. They're called boy shorts.
[She grabs the last suit she'd been looking at--a stylish, black one-piece--and heads for the register.]
We're good.
Come on. I can hear the ocean calling to us now.
no subject
no subject
[While Jack was pulling his shirt over his head, Zatanna was off to one side, also stripping down to the suit she'd changed into underneath. Smiling when she caught a good look at him.]
You know what? I didn't think at first, but it really does suit you.
no subject
Yeah... thanks.
no subject
[Zatanna, meanwhile...had very obvious endowments that became even more obvious once her outfit was restricted to a single, skin-tight piece of thin material. She seemed to pay this fact little heed, however, as she approached Jack with a smile that geared less towards teasing and more towards reassuring.]
You look nervous.
Relax, Jack. It's just the two of us. We're here to have fun, remember?
no subject
I know! We are. Will, I mean. Yes, we're here to have fun.
no subject
[A fact which she somehow remained oblivious to, ironically focused on getting him to relax already.]
Then let's make with the fun, already.
Ready for a dip, or should we get the floaties first?
