She nodded, glad that Lin would take her up on her offer. The thought of asking Aang to teach her airbending had never crossed Korra’s mind, not even once. It had been completely sideswipe by the fact that both he and her existed at the same time, along with all that came with that.

“With the way it’s going, he’ll be probably be fully recovered by the end of the month if not sooner. I don’t know how long it took for him when Katara did it, but the water isn’t exactly the same.” She let out a low, dry laugh. It never occurred to her until just then why Aang had mistaken her for Katara at first.

Last time his life was save by a girl from the Southern Water Tribe, just like now.

“He really misses her.” She said off-handedly before she drank the last dregs of tea. It was something she felt when she first got here and didn’t have Mako.

Lin inclined her head slightly in acknowledgment. Truth be told, she'd thought it might take even longer, what with the less-than-ideal setting and the unfamiliar resources at hand. A month was a long time to spend in a hospital--especially for Aang, whom she knew would be going stir-crazy within the week--but to expect any less would be unreasonable.

As for Katara--

It was the little things here that got to you in the end. Not that Katara's not being here was insignificant--not by a long shot. But for some reason the absence of people you'd grown used to was harder to deal with than the other, greater inconveniences of living in a city on a turtle.

"Yes, well." A light huff, a wry, humorless twist of the lips. "I imagine he does."

Since the only incarnation of Aang Korra ever encountered had been his older self, a wise a patient man, she didn’t see him having too much trouble now that today seemed to be the worst of it.

Until he learned what she was anyway.

"So I’ve got to worry about explaining things to Aang and you have to worry about smoothing things over with Toph." She mused as she set the empty mug back on the desk. Whatever Korra and the young earthbender were at odds with would be easy to work out compared to Lin’s dilemma. She wasn’t even going to mention the police work she was burying herself under, probably on purpose.

"Never gets boring around here, huh?"

A corner of Lin's lip quirked upward for the briefest of moments. "Ha. I'd offer to trade, but it wouldn't be fair for either of us."

It was just as well Korra hadn't voiced her thoughts about the paperwork; she wasn't half wrong, as little as Lin would have liked to admit it. Tedious as the paperwork was, it was at least predictable. This business with Toph...wasn't.

"It's the lion turtle vacation of my dreams," she said dryly, straightening. "Don't let me keep you, Avatar. We've got a lot of work to do."

If there's one thing Korra can appreciate, it’s the ability to have some sarcasm during a rainy day. A metaphorical rainy day anyway. They did manage to get along some before the whole turtle cruise happened, it was good to know that some of it carried over.

"Yeah, I’ve got a full plate too." She’s going to need all the rest she can get now that the clinic is going to have need of her every day. "Thanks for the tea, Chief." Even though she doesn’t hold that position here, Korra couldn’t see her being anything but. Leaving her to that paper work, Korra headed for the door so she could get some shut-eye.
