I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite
Characters: May Parker, AKA Spider-girl, and you!
Date: All of November!
Location: All of Keeliai!
Situation: May's decided to get used to the city the best way she knows how- by going shopping in her civvies during the day, and, after enough time's passed by that it won't be entirely obvious that Spider-girl and May Parker are one and the same, exploring the city from the rooftops
Warnings/Rating: None yet, but if they happen I'll add them in!

"I broke out of jail after I heard rumors of the brotherhood of Scriers holding a May hostage... Eventually I got a name. Alison Mongrain. I never caught up to her, but it didn't matter, because Peter got her back in the end anyway." He sighs. Kaine had tried to do something good, and all he got in return was solitary confinement in an unnamed prison. "Except the May in question was your Great Aunt."

She can't help but think back to when she began to see Kaine as someone who could be possibly trusted and given a chance. ' It's true I'm as bad as you heard and worse.'
If he was such a terrible person, someone who lived to give her dad and Uncle Ben hell, at what point did he decide to change? What happened to make this Kaine and the one she knew realize that that behavior wasn't right and decide to make amends?
He hadn't denied what little she knew of his past- far from it.
"Why?"
Why would he- either version of him- save someone who was so important to people he antagonized? Being Peter Parker's clone hadn't stopped him from being horrible to her father, so why would it stop at his family members?

"...I had my reasons." Kaine didn't look her in the eye when he said that. He felt like he had already said too much about breaking out of prison. He didn't like to think about his past life, much less talk about it.

She doesn't know the whole story. No one's ever told her it, whether to protect her from it or because they wanted to keep it all buried or because they're trying to forget it themselves. Her parents' reactions whenever the subject of Kaine came up were never positive- anything but!- but her dad had been the same way about Normie even after he managed to break away from the shadow of the Osborn legacy.
If Kaine really was so terrible, he wouldn't've changed. She's spent enough time in her webs to learn that while not everyone wanted to change for the better, or were necessarily trustworthy, the ones who did want to be better people, the ones who could be trusted, would take the opportunity if it was given to them.

...Other him. Jesus this was confusing.
And speaking of "other him's"...
"...There's probably something you should see back at my suite."
Wow that sounded creepy, but there was no better way to say it. He can't exactly haul Peter up here--he's too injured--and having this sort of meeting out in the open wasn't exactly a good idea anyway.

"I- okay?" For better or worse, she's trusting him like she would the other Kaine- something he'd probably call foolish. Or ask if she's insane. Same with Darkdevil, for that matter. And her dad. It's definitely a good thing none of them are here.
She pulls her mask back on.
"Want to tell me why, or are you going to keep it cryptic?"
no subject
"I think it's something you're just going to have to see for yourself."
Because really, why spoil the surprise?
