Aihsohlow | Phorezton | Markutte | Countryside

The commerce town of the tried. Temperatures within the dome are kept at a lofty 18C (62F) year round and the population of Markutte dresses less in furs and more in linens obtained through trade. Their long hair is frequently shorn short in the current fashion and they are, on the whole, less hardy than their kin in Phorezton and Aihsohlow, but even more friendly as they are currently in the throes of the Harvest Haul, a festival that concludes their rare growing seasons and agricultural bounties.

Trade. That's the foundation of Markutte and there are three town squares that are home to transient stalls and merchandise from the country and all surviving areas of Konryu. Many kedan have made their way here and occupy the occasional stall space, selling their wares and exchanging gifts with the citizens as they grasp the nature of the festival underway. Once again, visitors that make the trek here are expected to donate a gift that will be regifted at random, earning access and a stamp of their tin visa that resembles the oblong crystal coin used as currency in this realm.

Police are on the lookout for financial crimes here and will demand visas of any they suspect to be committed fraud, short-selling merchants, or thieving in any way, shape, or form. There are three vistas, one in each market square, upon which heralds stand and announce the crimes and punishments noted of the previous day. Minor theft is common and the punishment is a brand upon the criminal's neck; major theft results in a loss of a finger for each item stolen; fraud here is punishable by death, but only twice will there be an announcement of an execution during the landfall.

The auctions here are quite lively and characters can expect a minor bidding war to obtain their items, but each item is in pristine condition and provided to them wrapped within a thin set of furs as a thanks for their purchase.

I have no argument. Are you sharing quarters?
unconchonable: (so dicks you say)

[Good Spock. Eridan would be upset if his lusus couldn't stay :(]

Yeah we will be. There's plenty a room for the two a us. He ain't too rambunctious or suchlike.

[A beat.]

So you gonna make that soup a yours with those? Or you got somethin' else in mind?

[personal profile] dow 2013-12-06 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I will, perhaps ... sparingly. They are an extinct species, to the best of my knowledge, and off-planet colonies have had encountered trouble in growing more. It would be illogical to allow them to spoil, but if they are real then I believe I have several months before that happens.

[ He's going to guard them so. Intently. Might even put them under his bed in a box to keep them safe. ]

Will you join me in a meal?
unconchonable: (lookin fly)

That makes sense, don't wanna eat 'em all in one go. That's too bad about them hawin' issues growin' off your planet though. Ain't like we really got the means to ewen attempt to replicate the enwiornment for you to try an' grow 'em none, either.

[How depressing!]

I'd bloody lowe to.

[ He'll make them a nice meal in the coming week. ]

I could attempt to create a food synthesizer much like those we use on the Enterprise, but with limited technology here it would be ... problematic, at best. I have been experiencing some deficiencies in my dietary requirements, I admit.
unconchonable: (sounds hopeful)

[How fancy. Lets get CULTURAL.]

Oh shit, nothin' too serious I hope. Can't hawe you dyin' on me because you ain't got the plant matter to digest proper.

[Is that concern in his voice? Say it isn't so.]

[personal profile] dow 2013-12-10 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Not as of yet. I believe the plomeek will assist my body's recovery. I am accustomed to Terran fare and will not die from it unless explicitly poisoned, but it is notably difficult to do as much to a Vulcan.

[ Half-Vulcan, he doesn't know. ]

Do not worry.
unconchonable: (go alphabetize your DICK)

[personal profile] unconchonable 2013-12-10 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well that's a relief. Either way, can't say I'm particularly fond a hearin' that you're sufferin' in some way.

[an awkward beat...]

...Aaanyway, whatcha think a this place? A bit too wintery for my tastes, that's for damn sure.

[personal profile] dow 2013-12-10 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Likewise, I would not welcome knowledge of you contracting an ailment. [ He raises a brow and glances around once. ] The temperature is somewhat uncomfortable.

[ So cold, how does anything enjoy this on a permanent basis. Brr. ]
unconchonable: (i got swwag)

[personal profile] unconchonable 2013-12-10 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Well that's nice to know that Spock cares!]

Somewhat? Pfft, if it weren't for the fire stones you gawe me, I'd be frozen solid.

[personal profile] dow 2013-12-10 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
It is preferable to staying inside and not coming ashore, though. Do you agree?
unconchonable: (yeah i guess)

[personal profile] unconchonable 2013-12-10 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Alright, yeah, I think stayin' cooped up would hawe sucked. I mean, if I did, I'd had missed him. [A nod to his lusus.]

I also got me some board game thing. Dunno exactly why they gawe me it, perhaps somethin' to do with their traditions? Who flippin' knows. But, I ain't complainin'. It's pretty fuckin' awesome, I must admit. Left it back at the hiwe, though.

You should play a round a it with me sometime, unless strategy games ain't your thing, and I can respect that. Won't hold it against you none.

[Except he will. A little bit. He'd probably get over it. Maybe.]

Back on the ship I kept a three-dimensional chess-set, a game which requires great forethought of strategy. If your purchase is anything like that, I will assuredly play.

[ Strategy games for the win, tbh. Spock takes one last look over the seahorse, then steps aside. ]

I will meet you there this evening.
unconchonable: (but oh wwhat provvidence)

[personal profile] unconchonable 2013-12-10 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Wasn't so much a purchase as a gift from these people, but it's all the same. Three-dimensional chess-set, huh? Sounds interestin'. [Not that he's really sure what chess is, but it sounds complicated.]

It's got some sorta manual with it, we can look it ower before we play. [He watches Spock as he looks over seahorse dad his lusus u judgin spock? and steps aside.]

But alright, I'll see ya then. [It works out anyways, as much as he likes chatting with Spock, he has his lusus to spend time with again!! It's been far too long, ok?]
