OOC Post | Approved Items | Special Gifts
Aihsohlow | Phorezton | Markutte | Countryside
The commerce town of the tried. Temperatures within the dome are kept at a lofty 18C (62F) year round and the population of Markutte dresses less in furs and more in linens obtained through trade. Their long hair is frequently shorn short in the current fashion and they are, on the whole, less hardy than their kin in Phorezton and Aihsohlow, but even more friendly as they are currently in the throes of the Harvest Haul, a festival that concludes their rare growing seasons and agricultural bounties.
Trade. That's the foundation of Markutte and there are three town squares that are home to transient stalls and merchandise from the country and all surviving areas of Konryu. Many kedan have made their way here and occupy the occasional stall space, selling their wares and exchanging gifts with the citizens as they grasp the nature of the festival underway. Once again, visitors that make the trek here are expected to donate a gift that will be regifted at random, earning access and a stamp of their tin visa that resembles the oblong crystal coin used as currency in this realm.
Police are on the lookout for financial crimes here and will demand visas of any they suspect to be committed fraud, short-selling merchants, or thieving in any way, shape, or form. There are three vistas, one in each market square, upon which heralds stand and announce the crimes and punishments noted of the previous day. Minor theft is common and the punishment is a brand upon the criminal's neck; major theft results in a loss of a finger for each item stolen; fraud here is punishable by death, but only twice will there be an announcement of an execution during the landfall.
The auctions here are quite lively and characters can expect a minor bidding war to obtain their items, but each item is in pristine condition and provided to them wrapped within a thin set of furs as a thanks for their purchase.

[A beat.]
So you gonna make that soup a yours with those? Or you got somethin' else in mind?

[ He's going to guard them so. Intently. Might even put them under his bed in a box to keep them safe. ]
Will you join me in a meal?

[How depressing!]
I'd bloody lowe to.

I could attempt to create a food synthesizer much like those we use on the Enterprise, but with limited technology here it would be ... problematic, at best. I have been experiencing some deficiencies in my dietary requirements, I admit.
no subject
Oh shit, nothin' too serious I hope. Can't hawe you dyin' on me because you ain't got the plant matter to digest proper.
[Is that concern in his voice? Say it isn't so.]

[ Half-Vulcan, he doesn't know. ]
Do not worry.

[an awkward beat...]
...Aaanyway, whatcha think a this place? A bit too wintery for my tastes, that's for damn sure.

[ So cold, how does anything enjoy this on a permanent basis. Brr. ]
no subject
Somewhat? Pfft, if it weren't for the fire stones you gawe me, I'd be frozen solid.

I also got me some board game thing. Dunno exactly why they gawe me it, perhaps somethin' to do with their traditions? Who flippin' knows. But, I ain't complainin'. It's pretty fuckin' awesome, I must admit. Left it back at the hiwe, though.
You should play a round a it with me sometime, unless strategy games ain't your thing, and I can respect that. Won't hold it against you none.
[Except he will. A little bit. He'd probably get over it. Maybe.]

[ Strategy games for the win, tbh. Spock takes one last look over the seahorse, then steps aside. ]
I will meet you there this evening.

It's got some sorta manual with it, we can look it ower before we play. [He watches Spock as he looks over
seahorse dadhis lususu judgin spock?and steps aside.]But alright, I'll see ya then. [It works out anyways, as much as he likes chatting with Spock, he has his lusus to spend time with again!! It's been far too long, ok?]
