The commerce town of the tried. Temperatures within the dome are kept at a lofty 18C (62F) year round and the population of Markutte dresses less in furs and more in linens obtained through trade. Their long hair is frequently shorn short in the current fashion and they are, on the whole, less hardy than their kin in Phorezton and Aihsohlow, but even more friendly as they are currently in the throes of the Harvest Haul, a festival that concludes their rare growing seasons and agricultural bounties.

Trade. That's the foundation of Markutte and there are three town squares that are home to transient stalls and merchandise from the country and all surviving areas of Konryu. Many kedan have made their way here and occupy the occasional stall space, selling their wares and exchanging gifts with the citizens as they grasp the nature of the festival underway. Once again, visitors that make the trek here are expected to donate a gift that will be regifted at random, earning access and a stamp of their tin visa that resembles the oblong crystal coin used as currency in this realm.

Police are on the lookout for financial crimes here and will demand visas of any they suspect to be committed fraud, short-selling merchants, or thieving in any way, shape, or form. There are three vistas, one in each market square, upon which heralds stand and announce the crimes and punishments noted of the previous day. Minor theft is common and the punishment is a brand upon the criminal's neck; major theft results in a loss of a finger for each item stolen; fraud here is punishable by death, but only twice will there be an announcement of an execution during the landfall.

The auctions here are quite lively and characters can expect a minor bidding war to obtain their items, but each item is in pristine condition and provided to them wrapped within a thin set of furs as a thanks for their purchase.

He dropped her hand, still smiling. It was then that he realized that maybe she didn't know.

"We're taking care of an egg together. I think we've passed by each other, but never taken time to actually get to know each other."

"Oh right!" Holiday was very excited to meet him, but embarrassed that she hadn't done so already. "I'm sorry. If I were myself, I would've gotten to know you ages ago."

The whole nanite purge thing hadn't done her any favors.

Dick laughed, shaking his head. "No, don't worry. I should have come to get to know you too, I think we're both excused on that part."

There was just so much going on everywhere that certain things had taken a backseat. Like actually talking to people he should have talked to awhile ago.

"But we're doing the get to know you part right now, so we're doing okay, I'd say!"

Holiday gives him a big smile and looks around. "Were you headed somewhere in particular? We could go for a walk."

"I am all yours." Dick laughs. "I wasn't planning on anywhere specific. Maybe hit up a few more auctions, but since those seem round the clock, I think I can skip a ton."

Someone else would have to do the buying of other people's things. Plus, he's starting to run out of money on that end. He waits a moment, deciding where to go, before he decides, hey, they can just start walking in whatever direction they want.

"So how are you liking this place so far? The snow is a nice touch for this time of year."

"Snow was something that I least expected in this place," she chuckled, following alongside him. "It's a very nice change in scenery, though, and the locals are very accommodating. Seeing their technology is also pretty exciting."

Keeliai didn't have things like this. Or, if they did, she hadn't seen any of it.

"What about you? The auctions have been pretty interesting."

"Really, you weren't expecting snow?" Dick grinned, shaking his head and sticking his hands into his jacket pockets. "I think I was hoping for it, so that might be why I wasn't surprised. Really, I was hoping for anything but going underwater again. I'm not very good living under a bubble at the bottom of the sea."

Though Sinbrilee had a lot more cool buildings to climb then this place. The buildings weren't very tall, and you needed to be in the right mood to brave a snow covered roof.

"Haven't they? There's been a lot of tech going up for auction, if you want me to let you know if I've seen anything." He glanced around. "But I've been going for the more... I want to say personal? Not in a bad way, but things that someone might want, and wouldn't want to have it go into the wrong hands. There's been a few things from people's homes, showing up here."

"Not out here. Snow seemed too normal of a chance considering last time." She chuckled a little. "Sinbrilee was nice, but I'll be the first to admit that it seemed hard to breathe under there sometimes."

Holiday nodded. "I noticed that as well. Better than last time, honestly. At least there seems to be an explanation here rather than just finding stuff lying around." It was creepy, honestly.

"Well, if it was ghosts and snow, then it might be different." Dick laughs. "Can you imagine that? Let's just combine Sinbrilee and this place. We'll never see them coming. Literally." Badum-tish.

He nods along with her. "I agree. It makes sense to find things at auction, instead of last time... last time I found a crate of soda lying on the ground. I didn't have to pay for it, though."
