Location: Alcuin's clothing threads
Situation: Open catch-all for anyone who wanted to comission clothing from Cinna. Prediscussed comissions and new comissions welcome; let me know if you want a specific starter and I'll toss one up!
Warnings/Rating: None so far!

During business hours, Cinna likes to keep the shop open, bright. Having the windows open doesn't bother him, although the walk to work everymorning is still a challenge. But once he's inside, he doesn't have a problem pulling open the curtains and letting the room fill with natural light. It looks best on the fabric, after all.

He keeps his workspace tidy. It's hard to make a room look inviting, when it's filled with work tables and dress forms and bolts of fabric, but he does his best. It will never look like a place for anything other than work, for dressmaking, but at least it's neat and airy. Pleasant. He likes it.

Naugus sets aside the freshly crystallized thread to lean forward and study the examples given. He frowns and squints, looking over each example, before finally tapping the tip of his claw and the second example. He grins.

"This. This is a fine direction, I think. Very regal, very authoritative. I like it." He taps the butt of his staff onto the floor for emphasis on that word. "Something more like a uniform, wouldn't you say?"

"I'm very glad." It's his job, after all, to create things people like.

"We can certainly give it that feel." A blur of his pencil and he's added epaulettes and a clasp at the collar.

"Will you want more than one?"

"Likely, yes. I suppose you have proven yourself competent enough that I could even leave in your trust to come up with what you will. As, erm, yes." He looks down at himself again and taps his claw thoughtfully on the table a few times. "...I've only got this one change of clothes and finding more is proving to be a hassle."

Naugus clears his throat and finds his usual boisterous tone once more. "BUT YES! Name your price and I will procure the amount posthaste."

"Just a moment, please."

Cinna isn't the final word on pricing, Alcuin is. He excuses himself to speak to his boss, conferring in quiet terms with the blond young man. When he returns, taking his seat across from Naugus, he holds a small slip of paper in his hands.

"This would be the amount, per suit." The price written on the paper is a reasonable amount in Juulan -- certainly comperable to other high-end custom made clothing available in Keelial.

The paper is snatched up and squinted at. Naugus soon grins upon reading it.

"Easily done. Will the payment be required up front, or upon completion of each outfit?" His tail swishes a few times before wrapping lazily around one of his chair's legs.

”Twenty percent to cover materials, and the balance upon delivery,” Cinna says promptly. This, at least, is the something he's completely comfortable with. ”And of course I'll need your measurements before you go.”

On most people, he's more than able to work by eye. Naugus is a complete unknown, however, with his unusual form.

"Absolutely. Yes, of course." He nods to both of these statements. He's already got a good chunk of change made up from his magical favours; he has no concerns about covering the cost both now and later.

That tail unwinds again as the mage stands up, ready for whatever measuring takes place! And Cinna's right, he does cut an unusual form. A bit on the short side, standing a few inches past five feet. Broad chest and shoulders, extremely well-muscled both there and in his arms. Hips are narrow, legs are stout and sturdy, the tail about as long as his own torso and quite big around at the base, tapering off into a dull point after a few feet's length.

His parents must be very proud, making something unique as Naugus.

Cinna just assumed his parents were the same.

He stands, with his take measure, and carefully begins. Not just his regular measurements, but anything he might need. Naugus's proportions are completely unlike what he's used to.

”It should be no more than a week.”

But can you imagine a whole race of Nauguses? How harrowing.

Naugus does get a little antsy with measurements below the waist but behaves like an adult for the most part. Just a stiffening of posture and a nervous hiss at things like the base of the tail and the inseam. Once it's all over with, he relaxes considerably and plucks a coinbag from his belt. Counting out the required percentage and stacks the coins on the table.

"I will be back in a week, then, to see how things are progressing! I have high hopes and expectations, Cinna."

A whole race of Nauguses does sound exhausting.

Cinna is the consummate professional as he takes the measurements. Nothing to make him uncomfortable at all.

”I hope to exceed them. Have a good week.”

"And you! Farewell, sir, until next time!"

A swish of the cape and Naugus is out the door, staff in hand and carrying himself with a prideful stride. Leaving Cinna with his partial payment, some nice new jewel thread and a fresh story of the weirdos he has to put up with in this place.
