Situation: Open catch-all for anyone who wanted to comission clothing from Cinna. Prediscussed comissions and new comissions welcome; let me know if you want a specific starter and I'll toss one up!

During business hours, Cinna likes to keep the shop open, bright. Having the windows open doesn't bother him, although the walk to work everymorning is still a challenge. But once he's inside, he doesn't have a problem pulling open the curtains and letting the room fill with natural light. It looks best on the fabric, after all.

He keeps his workspace tidy. It's hard to make a room look inviting, when it's filled with work tables and dress forms and bolts of fabric, but he does his best. It will never look like a place for anything other than work, for dressmaking, but at least it's neat and airy. Pleasant. He likes it.

Tazendra theoretically once had to live on a soldier's salary for a year, but she mostly managed that by giving the money for expenses to a roommate or the housekeeper, and gambling/drinking with the rest. So she can at least manage day to day expenses, but has only just gotten the hang of medium-term expenses like clothing (and the fact that she needs savings for things like this).

"Well, let us review your regular designs, if you think they would be suitable," Tazendra said.

”I'm happy to make some small alterations, of course, since they'll have to be custom made anyway.” Cinna doesn't mind helping her out, quite honestly. It's a hard situation to be in.

He pulled down a binder of some of the completed, easily replicated projects, menswear and some modern women's wear that might also suit. clothing from Alcuin and Rapunzel’s eras would match the most closely.

Tazendra asked a few questions about cut and fabric, indicating that even if she was from a pre-industrial world, she knew something about fabric. "It is interesting. I have never been in a foreign country before. There is something to say about fashion, but I find I am a bit of an iconoclast." She is gravitating towards the older fashions, ones more like what she wears. "What of colors? I confess, I normally wear black, as it is the color of my House."

"I think a lot of the foreigners feel the same way. It's why we're here." Some were willing to find new fashions, but many were extremely set in what they already had -- with no intention of branching out any further. And they make quite a lot of money, charging them for perfect reproductions of what they're used to.

"Black is always a classic, so you don't have to worry there. Though it will look very severe with your coloring, if you don't mind my saying so."

"Do you think so? Well, perhaps some color as an accent, if it is not silver or gray." Tazendra considered.

I'm so sorry, I lost this somehow.

"Not silver or gray."

Cinna makes a note of it, considering. It's too bad, as both go well with black. "May I ask why?"

It's all right!

"Black and silver are the heraldic colors of the House of the Dragon, while black and gray are the colors of the Jhereg. I am neither a Dragon nor a Jhereg. While a few individuals will choose colors for their aesthetics, rather than their heraldry, the Jhereg are..."

Man, how to explain.

"They are often criminals, and will ennoble any who can add to their treasury, including those who have been outcast from the Houses of their birth."

In other words, someone is a bit of a snob.

"I understand."

He does. At least, he understands the general idea, if not exactly the specifics.

"It's easy enough to avoid gray or silver. I'll see what I can come up with."

Cinna flagged a few of the designs that had caught her eye, nodding.

"My pleasure. I'll contact you for a fitting in a week or so?"

"I will await your notice, then," Tazendra said, standing.

"It won't take long." He walked her out politely, still smiling. "Within the week. Is there anything else I should know?"

"If there is, I do not recall it." Tazendra said.
