[He's waving frantically at the ghost.]

Barry, I swear I am going to kill you the next time we meet. I don't care if this isn't really you.

[And then he points at Mark.] I said don't say anything. As far as I'm concerned, that last conversation never happened. We're ignoring it and moving on.

[shorttempered]

[Dude you're really not helping your "not a couple" thing.]

Speaking of moving on... Have you witnessed anything... freaky? [Summoning the image of the dude you are not dating doesn't count.]

Freaky by what standards? This is the location of my super villain origin story and my best friend's ghost won't go away, but I've definitely seen weirder.

[shorttempered]

Like.... tree people and secret wars freaky.

Hang on--You were a super villain? [You seem like such a nice guy.]

[When you hang out in space as much as he does, your perspective gets warped. Mark's examples aren't very good ones in his opinion.

However instead of pointing that out, he rubs the back of his head.]

Technically? I was possessed by the embodiment of fear at the time.

[Truth be told, they'd be awful examples for Mark too if the roles were reversed. As it is, he's still trying to make out what he saw and that sounded liket he best synopsis at the time.]

Um, this is going to sound like a random question, but... when you were possessed.... did you like, know what was going on and just sort of felt trapped? Or did you know what was going on but it seemed like a good idea at the time?

[As Mark talks, an astronaut blinks into view, standing on a mountain of what looks like small, pink brains with tendrils coming out beneath them like legs. Several are stuck to his body, and one is stuck to the side of his face.

Mark closes his eyes at the sight of him.]

I-I'm really sorry, I just realized how personal that is. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I was just... nevermind. [Go away, Rus, go away.]

It's fine, really.

[It's obvious that his past situation has some sort of parallel significance and if there's anything he can do to help, he's going to go for it. The astronaut only encourages that thought because that's space related and he is all about space.]

Before I go any further you have to understand that I was under the influence of two incredibly powerful entities for years, the kind that can alter reality. Humans can't comprehend that level of power so I think after I got back my mind sort of just tried to bury that because it couldn't cope.

So I can't remember much of it, it's like a half remembered dream. But it doesn't matter if you remember or not, you've still got the same regrets, the same guilt and the same what ifs.

[shorttempered]

[Mark sighs, and the dream brains with legs start spreading out, attaching themselves to other dream people.]

I was never possessed, but... There was this guy, this astronaut, who got possessed by these alien parasites called Sequids. It was my fault. We thought we saved him... That was my fault too. And then the guy, when he came back to Earth, he got re-possessed by the Sequids. And the Sequids, they wanted to take over Earth because humans made good hosts for them to control. I was angry, about the Sequids coming back, about... about a lot of things. And I...

[Dream Rus' head falls off his body and rolls down the Sequid mountain.]

I don't know why I'm even telling you this. I'm sorry.

[Hal doesn't know the full context, but it does look like Mark had been backed into a corner and he really was in no position to judge. His hands were far from clean.]

Our line of work makes it difficult to talk about and sometimes we just need someone who'll listen and understand. It's fine.

[Even mister emotionally constipated over here had learned to occasionally talk about things with his fellow corps-men or leaguers.

But even then, he felt like he was being more talkative than he normally would be.]

I think this place might have something to do with it.

[Mak takes a deep breath, wipes his face with the back of his hand, and looks over at Hal. As he composes himself the sequids and their now headless host blink out of existence.]

I thought it just took things from your head and broadcasted it for everyone to see.

[Going to completely destroy the serious atmosphere here.]

I'm not in love with Barry Allen!

I... didn't say you were.

Okay, I did, but that was before.

Then what the hell was that about? 'Took things from your head', I don't have Barry on my mind all the time!

Wait, are you seriously asking me to figure out how your head works? Because I barely understand what I'm doing most of the time...
