"You have me at a disadvantage." This is a thinly veiled request for a name. She doesn't bother introducing herself, though, reasoning that if he saw her network post, he would likely have also caught her name. "Don't let me stop you. An idea?"

"I should be able to make the time." There's a slight tone to her voice- the sort she usually uses on Jaime and Milagro when she's trying to figure out what they're trying to hide- but not completely evident in her voice.
"Raine, this is Sep, he also works here and is one of my main partners in trying to keep all of this running, along with Dr. McCoy."

Even he knows he sort of has, in an obscure way. He won't say that, though. Some things are private.
Besides, something about Raine feels distinctly odd. He can't quite put is finger on what it is, exactly, but he's cautious about focusing too much. Keeping his watercrafting senses a little more open than usual--if nothing else, he needs as much warning for any potential threat as he can get--he gives Bianca faint smile. Though Septimus wishes he could ignore Raine's question, it would be impolite--and so far out of character Bianca might actually ask. "A thought about the spike in injuries lately and, if not some measure of prevention, at least managing them even when people are in the field on missions. Might as well keep them from exacerbating everything by leaving them untended."
He knows that too well from experience.

She'd guess that Sep is probably short for something, but linguistic probabilities are really neither here nor there. Here, in fact, is what sounds like it's about to be a sensible proposition. "Certain sorts of people can't be stopped from charging ahead. It sounds like you intend to compensate for that by sending healers, medics, along with them when danger is certain? If there's enough people with the skills to make that feasible, that'd be a smart plan."
Even if she can't pass on her artes, she can certainly volunteer to use them.

His idea takes priority for now.
"We already do classes for basic first aid, so having something more thorough wouldn't be a bad idea."

"I'd like to talk to Doctor McCoy about it, I think. Things get a little different in the field, and he and I probably have different experiences with that, too. Besides training, I was thinking--"
And here he pauses a moment before sighing. This was so much easier when he was actually in command of things; it's been endlessly frustrating. "How many people do you think would decide against someone capable of field support simply because they didn't know who could, didn't make arrangements ahead of time, or thought no one would be available at that moment, and didn't do the work of asking?"
no subject
She stops there, waiting for him to explain rather than speculate further.

"The important thing would be to make sure people are educated about their options. If they don't know, it's on us. If they know and don't care, it's on them. The most we can do is prepare people for that, which is why we've been pushing the first aid classes in the first place."

As for Raine, well, his glance is a lot more measuring and thoughtful. She definitely thinks a lot more like an Aleran than his brain wants to insist she should, given her features--so he'll roll with this. "That's the thought, yes," he agrees. "A secondary class for those who have been learning first aid, about working in the field. Both more stop-gap measures and a little of how to approach the role in combat.
"Then from those volunteers, keep a duty roster of field-medic-on-call if any groups are going out and want the support."

As an aside: "When are the first aid classes, by the way?" She has an interest in picking up techniques usable without magic. Just in case.
