SIEGE TO THE PALACE
Characters: Everyone involved in the player missions
Date: 18th May
Location: The Palace
Situation: It's been too long since Malicant took over the palace, and it's time the foreigners did whatever they could to take it back. They might find out more than they had expected to find in the process.
Warnings/Rating: Fighting and shit? Please poke me if this needs to be changed.
Maybe you heard Superman suggesting they met up on the radio, trying to get as many people possible together for an attack that might prove unsuccessful, but would at least distract Malicant enough to get some information. Maybe you agreed to meet up and were talked into an open attack. Maybe you were talked into it by someone, dragged into a fight you wouldn't normally be part of otherwise Maybe your friends and you decided to take matters into your own hands, get together to try to attack the palace yourself and get something out of it.
Whichever the reason, there is no going back now. There's a yell, and suddenly... the attack begins.
[OOC: An open thread for the initial attack and threads for each mission will be added to this log. The idea is for a big battle to start with, and the teams to be divided naturally. Like I said, everyone gets a chance to fight! I added a questions thread just in case, if you aren't sure about something one of us will do our best to answer.]

Relax, guy. Hopefully we're not facing death here. You hit it for all you're worth, you create a diversion, and then you run. There's no shame in that.
[He withdrew the Sig Sauer and clicked the safety off.] Let's go.
no subject
There's another power ring here and there shouldn't be one.]
Distracting is easy, but that's a civilian with a power ring and I'd feel a lot more comfortable with someone who knows what they're doing at my back.
no subject
I know what I'm doing!
[To Mako:] See you when this is over. [There wasn't a doubt in her mind that he could handle himself.]
Alright, let's buy the other teams some time. [And maybe break through the barrier. She swung her arm around and a giant, green hammer flew out of her ring to slam into the barrier.]
no subject
Your technique's awful, I bet yellow still affects you.
[And to show off, Hal constructs the Green Lantern Corps and they all simultaneously charge at the barrier.]
no subject
I’ll show you technique! [The hammer vanishes and Korra forms an air funnel between her arms. Green bombs continuously pop out of her ring and into the funnel while she aims it, firing a string of explosions on the barrier.]
no subject
That's one way to get around not having a Flash...
[Wait, he's not supposed to encourage this.]
I guess this means you can't use it to it's full potential by itself and have to compensate.
no subject
You just watch! [The funnel fades and Korra whirls in place, letting out a kick and then a punch, on each revolution. A blade of air speeds towards the barrier after her feet, the slashing gust goes clean through the smoke from the earlier explosions and the blast of air that forces her back from her punches plows through the smoke and lets out a resounding ‘thoom’ when it hits the barrier.
But the damn thing’s still there.
She lets out a snort and looks back to Hal.]
...Well you’re not doing any better! [She may be eighteen, but that doesn’t stop her from being immature.]
no subject
He forms a high speed train with the right amount of will to be effective and not leak it like Guy would of. The moment it hits the barrier, he drops it to hammer it in with a giant fist. Of course, it doesn't work.]
That's just the barrier. Doesn't change the fact that I know how to use the ring and you don't.
no subject
I bet you were the worst rookie when you started! [Then she makes a line of catapults loaded with explosives and manned by traditionally garbed earthbenders that fire boulders at the barrier.]
Or are you scared I might become better than you at this Lantern stuff?!
[Mouthing off isn't the best trait to have either...]
no subject
[Enjolras nods at the comment, steadying himself for now. It is not, after all, that he wishes for death. It is more that, well, he is not afraid, should it come to that.]
Hitting and running. That I can do. And no, of course I could take no shame in it. It does make sense.
[And he is activating the charm, nodding and ready to let it go.]
Of course.
no subject
Korra doesn't need the ring-- she's plenty capable with or without it.
[there was only a slight defensiveness in his tone. But then he looked back at Costigan]
So let's focus on the hit and run part.
no subject
[He wasn't exactly the leader type, but he was learning to play one when it was needed. He trusted Hal - as a Green Lantern - to keep an eye on the others and, of all of them, Mako seemed the one most intuitive for him to work with. It was the best he could think to try to make something happen.
Costigan began jogging in the direction he intended for them to go.]
I can fight and I can shoot, but I don't have any magic. That's on you.
no subject
Alright. Creating a diversion should be easy enough between the two of us. [all it took was a well aimed fireball on his end, and that would get plenty of attention.]
[he nodded at the guards]
Guns are loud, and fire gets attention pretty quick. You ready?
no subject
Instead, he aims up into the sky, ready to fire off a couple shots in conjunction with Mako's flames. Then he can level the weapon out to use as a defensive tool.]
no subject
[Enjolras is indicating his charm and nodding at the others.]
It should produce quite a bit of lightning. I've tried it, well, the once and it worked then. Shall we time this all at once, then?
