You're going to hear me roar
Characters: Wan and OTA for anyone wanting to help him with his attempt to possess Asti
Date: between 10/15 and 10/24
Location: Zuko's
Situation: lots of talking and planning and trying to coordinate things in secret
Warnings/Rating: none
10/16 & 10-17 For those who've been contacted directly via Inboxes/Turtles
Wan had sent the messages from his console after spending a few hours mediating under his lantern. It was all the time he was going to spare for that consideration while he still felt that Zuko needed him there. Not all the time, since he was getting better and obviously so, but enough that he wanted to stay with him in the building that had been secured from further intrusions by violent kedan.
He wasn't going to wait for messages back, just hope that the people he contacted would come.
[[As Wan is staying with Zuko still, he's asked that meetings happen there. If you don't want Zuko to tag in occasionally, let us know.]]
For those who've heard about this indirectly and want in
Wan had gotten the word out mostly through Dante and Michelangelo, and had high hopes that whomever they contacted would get in touch with him. Since they knew so many more people than he did. He was nervous, but he'd given both firm answers about where he could be found. And maybe, just maybe, they could get organized enough to pull this off. Without Wan's soul being ripped apart or swallowed by the vastness of Asti's own personality and lifeforce.

"Not a lot. I just know it happens sometimes. Like when the Spirit of the Ocean possessed me during the Siege of the North. Why?"

No. It's not over.
"I could hear the words coming out of my mouth, and feel myself sinking into the water but...it was like being in the Avatar State. I was there, but I wasn't."

Said very softly, like the calm before the storm: "The Moon Spirit died?"
no subject
"We thought they were just looking for me, but then Zhao went after Tui"

"Yue brought me to the Spirit Oasis in the Northern Water Tribe so that I could cross into the Spirit World and look for the Tui and La and ask them for help to defeat the Fire Nation armada that was attacking the city. While I was there a spirit named Koh told me that someone was coming to kill the Moon and Ocean. They weren't in the Spirit World at all, but were actually the mortal koi fish in the pond of the Oasis."
Aang conveniently leaves out the part where Zuko had kidnapped his body.
"Zhao already had Tui out of the water in a bag by the time we reached him. He said it was his destiny to destroy the Moon and the Water Tribes. I tried to reason with him, but it was General Iroh who convinced him to put Tui back in the water."
Aang swallows hard.
"Then he used firebending, and killed Tui where they swam. I turned to look and the moon was gone from the sky and...and then things go fuzzy. The last thing I remember thinking before I woke up on the city's wall, was: No, it's not over."

"I...I don't know what happened to Zhao, only that I never saw him again. And...and the Moon came back. Sokka told me that Yue sacrificed herself so that Tui could live."
Aang didn't know her for long, but he will always consider her a good friend.

"Zhao was killed by the ocean spirit. I saw it myself. From what Uncle told me, the water tribe princess had a part of the moon spirit in her and she became the spirit herself."
Hopefully that explanation would calm things down.

"Sorry," he murmured, feeling like he had to apologize for the outburst. "I thought mankind had moved on from such audacity in the ten thousand years between us. The way Korra spoke of it... But to lose the Moon Spirit like that..."

"I'm sorry," he said quietly.
"My nation is at fault for that."
no subject
"It... I'm glad to know that someone was able to help. That that balance was able to be maintained. Even if the balance of the world is still not where it should be."
He looked at Zuko and shook his head weakly, "The fault lays at the feet of the single human that took those actions. He has paid for them with his life. Justice has been done."
no subject
A lot.
no subject
"The world will have balance again. I know it will."
Zuko said this with the little bits of confidence he could muster up, for the sake of his friends.
"But right now I think we need to be focusing on this one."
no subject
At Zuko's words, though, Wan attempted a small smile, "Yeah. You're right. It's not the point."
His attention turned back to Aang, "How you possessed the Ocean Spirit is. You can't remember anything else? How it felt when you did it, maybe? The energy in your body?"
no subject
"Only that it was really easy for me to slip into the Avatar State because of how strong the Spirit Energy was in the Oasis. Everything else was all La."
