Wan had sent the messages from his console after spending a few hours mediating under his lantern. It was all the time he was going to spare for that consideration while he still felt that Zuko needed him there. Not all the time, since he was getting better and obviously so, but enough that he wanted to stay with him in the building that had been secured from further intrusions by violent kedan.

He wasn't going to wait for messages back, just hope that the people he contacted would come.

[[As Wan is staying with Zuko still, he's asked that meetings happen there. If you don't want Zuko to tag in occasionally, let us know.]]

For those who've heard about this indirectly and want in

Wan had gotten the word out mostly through Dante and Michelangelo, and had high hopes that whomever they contacted would get in touch with him. Since they knew so many more people than he did. He was nervous, but he'd given both firm answers about where he could be found. And maybe, just maybe, they could get organized enough to pull this off. Without Wan's soul being ripped apart or swallowed by the vastness of Asti's own personality and lifeforce.

Korra’s arms dropped, but she gave a tight lipped smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “I’ve had a deluded psychic bloodbender take my bending away and give me nightmares for the rest of my life and had to fight Vaatu who fused with my uncle when Harmonic Convergence happened.” She said it in as rich of a tone as she could muster.

“I’ll be fine, I can handle myself.”

[raavashing]

His face fell and he looked away, dropping his hands to take hers. He shut his eyes and sighed, "I wasn't trying to say you couldn't handle yourself. Just that if you don't want to, you don't have to."

[alphatar]

Korra knitted her brow and opened her mouth to say something, but her teeth closed followed by her lips.

"I know." She closed her eyes for a second and then gave Wan a focused look. "What do you need me to do?" Avatar stuff, she could always do that. It was ingrained into her.

[raavashing]

"I just needed to know what you knew about possessions," he answered. It was actually all he'd called her to come over for. "Since you don't know more than I do, we can talk about other things. Spend some time together."

[alphatar]

"I wish there was other things than what I’m dealing with right now." All that had been plaguing her was Eshai’s death, Katara recuperating, and Tonraq returning home. But Wan, she felt comfortable enough to tell him that instead of brushing it off like she had with others who have asked.

"I’m sorry I can’t help Asti."

As she said the turtle’s name, Korra’s words drawled out and her lips pursed. Her mind went back to what she had seen in the palace, her future. The combination of remembering what she saw of possession there, talking to Wan now, and water rising up in streams before glowing a golden-

"Maybe I can!" She practically startled herself. For the past few months she had felt useless, but now. Now she might have something. "Emperor Eshai once told me that he’s a spirit. Not a traditional one, but a spirit anyway. I don’t know if I can purge him from Tu Vishan, but maybe I can do just enough to give Asti a fighting chance."

[raavashing]

"Really?" Because that sounds awesome. "Could you show me how? Have you done it before?"

If they both knew how that might actually be useful in purging anyone who got infected by the poison of the bad spirits within them. Right? Right!

[alphatar]

"I’ve- well, I’ve don’t it a little. I’ve been teaching myself. It’s something I learned when Emperor Eshai showed me my future." She said the last bit a little sadly. "That was the last time I spoke to her. I never got to give her that Christmas present. Evandau received it in her stead."

That wasn’t what she wanted to focus on at all. Korra shook her head minimally to get herself back on track.

"It’s a waterbending technique that my uncle teaches me later. It converts the energy in spirits to purge them of negative energy. Doing it on a big scale like that isn’t going to be easy, I know, but if you can learn it too. Then maybe we’ve got a chance?"

She wanted to believe it would be, but Malicant not being a spirit in the traditional sense lingered in the back of her minds, Eshai’s voice still clear as the day she heard it.

[raavashing]

Wan's smile grew into a grin and he took her hands in his, "I think that's one of the best ideas I've ever heard! How long will it take for you to teach me?"

[alphatar]

She squeezed his hand.

"I don't know, I'm still learning it from my memory and there's not really any dark spirits to practice it on. But I think we can work it out together." A wan smile came on her face, but it was a genuine smile. Wan was already pretty incredible to her and she looked up to him a bit, but now she had the chance to teach him something. Teaching bending wasn't something she'd ever done, but she was ready to try it out.

[raavashing]

"Then we'll learn together," he said back, not at all phased by the fact that she had yet to figure it all out. He pretty much flew by the seat of his pants anyway. "You said it uses waterbending?"

[alphatar]

Korra nodded, focusing on the new possibility instead of the recent event ins her life.

"Yup, and we got plenty of that. There's an open area just outside Water Sector I use to practice all four elements. We can practice there."

[raavashing]

"Great! We're going to have to get a lot of practice in before I try possessing the Great Turtle," he said back, forgetting that he hadn't actually mentioned that part of his plan to her yet. "If that doesn't work, trying to purify Tu Vishan is a good back up plan."

Korra stilled and stared at Wan as if he had just sprouted out of the floor.

"Wait, you’re what?" She shook her head because she heard what he said, she just didn’t understand it. "No, you- you don’t have any idea what that could do to you. Asti’s a lot more powerful than the Avatar, you could end up dead."

Korra wasn’t generally one for caution, but she knew when something was far out of her league; and by proxy: Wan’s.

Wan looked away, shoulders hunching a little as he suddenly felt very guilty. He was prepared for the possible results. Softly, he replied, "I know he is. But the goal is to force the Great Darkness out. If I can take his place within Tu Vishan for even a moment, then it's enough. He's not physically vulnerable right now and that makes getting to him impossible. Forcing him out... it's the only thing I can think of."

[alphatar]

"This won’t work! M-" Korra bit down on her lips, her eyes wide with anger looking at the back of Wan’s head. "HE could probably absorb your spirit if you tried. Corrupting things is what this thing does, there has to be some other way to push him out; or boost Asti’s strength to fight him off." She had her hands gesturing at almost every word. Korra had no idea how to even do any of what she was saying, but Wan was one of the few people she considered an anchor in her forced life in Konryu and she didn’t want to lose him.

[raavashing]

"I'm doing this," he said softly into the silence that followed her words. He was firm, his determination obvious. Wan looked up again and met her eyes. "I don't believe he can corrupt Raava, even if he could corrupt me. And I don't know any other way to give her power to Asti, even if my goal was to do more than just push Malicant out. And I have to do something."

He took a breath, "Raava thinks it should work."

She knew that feeling. That need to do something instead of sitting around, and for the first time; she hated it. Korra had the same feeling, but she hadn't been able to do anything to Malicant. Nothing had worked and she was sure this was the same thing.

Crossing her arms, Korra gave Wan a hard look.

That he could communicate with Raava and she never could unless the spirit was actually outside her body nettled her slightly. She was still a bit of a spiritual failure even after being on the turtle for more than a year.

"You shouldn't do it alone." And that he only called her for her possible knowledge on the subject and not outright help stung. "Maybe Aang can help with that."

[raavashing]

He shook his head, "It can only be done alone. It's already going to be hard enough to try and possess the Great Turtle, trying it with more than one person - more than one piece of our soul - when I don't know for sure how to do it on my own will only make it more complicated. I'm not going to ask Aang to help with it, either. Just if he knows how to possess another creature."

He wasn't going to risk his future lives more than he already was just by doing this.

[alphatar]

She tightly tucked her arms under her chest.

"Just don't die. I don't think I could handle you seeing me again for the first time." Losing people was hard enough, but memories after dying wasn't the greatest either.
