[Closed] Live free or die; and all I can ask is why
Characters: North and York
Date: Now
Location: York's residence
Situation: North has just arrived and is feeling lost and lonely since he's arrived without his AI, and doesn't quite remember what happened in his final moments before he was transported to Tu Vishan.
Warnings/Rating: None
[He wasn't familiar with the city, but luckily once he'd found his way out of his sector, he found that York's apartment wasn't far. This was definitely a different sort of area than the area where he'd been placed. He had kept an eye out for shops, since it seemed weird to arrive as a guest empty-handed, but then realized he'd left his juulan at home. He really was still suffering from the effects of waking up in the sea.
He had to content himself, in the end, with the fact that he'd arrived in a fairly timely manner, and he knocked on the door of what he hoped was the correct place.]

[ He doesn't regret it. North needed to be in, needed to be given an option to get her out, because who was he to say South didn't deserve to get out? ]
I'm glad. You two deserved it.

[ He says it easily, because he's got siblings, too. He'd bend over backwards for them. ]
no subject
She used to hate when I'd call her that.
no subject
[ That's to say the least. ]
no subject
I hope she's coping with it. With me ending up--
With her ending up alone.
[ And North is well on his way to finishing his drink. He'll probably have that food York's set aside for him first, though. If he drinks at the rate he'd in the mood for, he'll be smashed before too long. ]
sleep now
She's strong. I bet she'll be just fine, man. She's able to hold her own.
I fell asleep just then, no worries!
[ He's not able to put his concerns into words; he's not even willing to let those thought come, really, so he shakes his head to clear it and sets his glass down. ]
What about that lunch?
no subject
York rolls to his feet with a yawn, and grabs his drink to take it with him, heading for the kitchen. ]
Preference 'side from not an MRE? Thrace, you want anything?

[ It's fairly quick, after all, and it sounds good to him. York slips into the fridge and snags what he needs, starting up on some, humming idly. ]
How's your drink?
no subject
[ she's just being nosy and listening; Kara doesn't have to actively take part in all conversations all the time - every so often, she's fantastic at focusing on something, especially if she's interested in the subject. ]
no subject
The drink was fine. Might like a beer for the next one, if I could.

[ York flops in between them with a bite of his sandwich, humming in contentment. ]
no subject
I wasn't actually referring to who made it.
no subject
[ just ignore Kara over here drinking booze and smirking. ]
no subject
[ He kicks his feet up, and since his drink is gone, he snags Kara's. ]
So your armor in one piece, North?
no subject
[ He shifts to put his beer bottle on the coffee table before answering the question about his armor. ] Nothing's missing. It let some saltwater in, so I guess it's not airtight anymore. [ which wasn't that much of a surprise, actually, considering how long it had been since his armor had had proper maintenance run on it. ]
no subject
Meh. Oh well.
She'll just lean against him and steal the remains of his sandwich. ]
no subject
[ His has too, though he's started doing basic repairs here and there. ]
I've got some tools that could help, that I've been gathering since I got here.
no subject
[ Yup, even North is capable of teasing. Just loosen him up with a little beer and watch him go. ]
no subject
[ York grins, letting Kara take his sandwich as he sips at her drink. ]
