February Catch All
Characters: Valdis and you!
Date: The Month of February
Location: Noted in the starters
Situation: Various
Warnings/Rating: None yet
A) Before the 5th, Keeliai's Markets: After acquiring the angelic sword, Revelations, Valdis has found herself in need of some supplies in order to make a sheath worthy of the blade. She has enough coin to obtain what she needs and it helps that the Kedan are currently trying to put on a good face for the Ambassadors. She is quickly evaluating the attitude of the store owners and either purchasing or moving on, aware that this window of niceties might be quite narrow.
B) Midnight Hotel: When she isn't out in the city or exploring the surrounding areas, Valdis can be found in the common area, reading up on the history of Keeliai or going over her extensive, hand-written notes on the current issues the foreigners are facing in the city. If one is lucky, they may catch her in the lobby of the hotel, or if someone is ambitious and unafraid, they may find her in her room, though if she is sleeping, wake her at your own risk
C) Before the 5th, Turtle's Head: The cold didn't bother her much and she sat near the turtles head, looking out over the water at Khatronma, marveling at the dome from a distance. Revelations is at her hip, glowing softly in the early morning light. The last time she had been here it had been to possess the turtle in an attempt to help Wan oust Malicant from the ancient entity. It had also been where she had used the Void to kill four of the cultists attacking her and her friends. So many memories and none of the peace that had once been attached to this place.
D) Start your Own: Please give a location and a setup.

"First I must tell you that I am not human. I was the Queen of a proud and soulless race, a hellhound. Feared by angels and demons alike, my kind are few, but fierce." Her eyes glazed over as she began to relate the tale, reliving it even as she spoke. "My people had just achieved a victory over the army of the archdemon Lord Amos, driving him back into the depths of his territory. But while we were occupied with the demons, the Angels struck at our heart.
Michael, one of the archangels, issued a direct challenge and I answered him. We met on the slopes of Cabeço Gordo, equals in both power and will. Our battle shook the earth, the mountain quivered and exploded, raining fire and brimstone down upon the land and the humans cowered in fear. The destruction we wrought molded the island as neither of us gave the other an inch. But the Archangel did not have my endurance and I was outlasting him.
I was on the edge of victory when the Archangel summoned a second blade. The edge flashed, it's light temporarily blinding and then the tide of battle turned. His strength returned and my own seemed to fade and then I was on the retreat, the flashing blade eating away at my power. Angered by his recovery, I called to my pack, but in that moment, the Archangel threw the accursed sword.
I had never experienced such pain as that when Revelations pierced my heart and I probably never will again."
The glaze faded from her eyes and she suddenly felt drained, as if she actually had relived the battle.

"Such power you hold." He replied watching her. Speaking such strength she looked tired to him. It was a strange thing. "Why have you not over thrown this world?" He inquired of her.

"I do not understand that. Power -is- everything." Namely where he is from and a feeling, a burning feeling deep within. "I need more power." he spoke in a bit of a shaken tone. "I never would have been defeated had I had the power I needed. I would not be here if I was not weak. I can not understand the concept of having power and not using it."

"If I needed to use my power," she replied, "Then I wouldn't hesitate, but no one has shown me a good reason to release it. Part of possessing power is knowing when to use it and as I said, I have no desire to rule this world or destroy it." But she looked at him sympathetically, "When I was inside your soul, I faced Mundus' power. He is strong, and while his rank would have been below that of Amos, few could stand against him. Losing to that kind of power doesn't make you weak."

Sadly, he doesn't know that was likely the end of his line anyway. And he is ashamed of losing to Dante, despite being thankful for Dante. "losing to a man as kind as Dante, it feels shameful, kindness is weakness in my masters eyes. And though you say you have the power to destroy Mundus even if not in so many words I can not myself believe that unless I saw it. I have seen him kill many of those in his ranks for failure. Many much stronger then your average demon."

"Kindness requires its own sort of strength," she replied slowly, thinking of Anton and Dante, "A strength that is more difficult to come by."

He pushed up now, running his hand through his hair to push it back again. "Perhaps you are right. Either way I have over stayed my welcome, thus I shall take my leave."
