[EVENT] Bonfire Night
Characters: ALL!
Date: February 21st
Location: Various.
Situation: It’s cold. Time to cuddle up and make bonfires for the warmth.
Warnings/Rating: Add warnings as needed.
As night falls the city’s lights take something of a unique turn. Instead of being lit by millions of paper lanterns, Keeliai is tonight lit by the flames and warmth of dozens if not hundreds of fires. Some of them are small, not much more than warming hearths in a barrel on a street, but others encompass squares and boulevards.
The fire lighting procession winds through the city’s streets, beginning at the first bonfire in Fire Sector. By the time full night has arrived, that procession is a snake illuminated by dozens of torches, parting from the main parade to light smaller fires in smaller streets. It ends, finally, in Central, in the Courtyard of Public Opinion, whose bonfire is second only to the initiating one in Fire Sector.
In some areas an exchange of goods arises, mostly in terms of woollens and other warm clothes and blankets. Though food is considered a public resource on this occasion, bartering small knickknacks, songs, stories and even other woollen items is not uncommon an exchange.
Meals are shared among kedan and Foreigners, commoners and emissaries--primarily stews, soups and other foods easily baked in the coals of the fires. Everyone brings food, and what isn’t contributed to the pot is nevertheless shared around after preparation. Although some bonfires are markedly wealthier than others, food and shelter is spread around to make sure everyone is safe and warm. No one goes cold and alone on this night.

Fire Sector (main bonfire) | Water Sector | Metal Sector | Earth Sector | Wood Sector | Central Keeliai
OOC Notes
The five Bresilykian emissary NPC can be found moving from Sector to Sector and partaking in the various traditions of each, and so can be engaged anywhere, while the Keeliai NPCs generally are staying in their respective areas as detailed below. Please put the name of the NPC you're requesting in the subject line of your tag if you want to interact with them. Thank you!

"I used my crown to enter the Shangpar race. Wan got it back for me," he explained.
But the dragon... well. Yeah, he can understand Aang's surprise over that.
"And uh... this is Druk. I found him during the landfall."
The little dragon cried its own little 'hello' at Aang.
no subject
And the reason that he has it....is Wan.
Aang bites the inside of both lips in an effort to contain the cute.
But then Druk makes that noise, and it's all over.
Somewhere hidden in the sound of his squee exist the words: BABY DRAGON!
no subject
It's there he perches, looking rather proud of himself and making a noise back at Zuko to make sure he sees what he just did. LOOK WHAT HE DID.
"... I think he likes you."
no subject
There's a dragon on his head! ZUKO LOOK! THERE'S A DRAGON ON HIS HEAD!
"Of course he does, I have a way with animals."
He looks up in an effort to try and see the top of his own head.
no subject
"Yeah, I see that," Zuko replied.
Though a thought then came to him. "Dragons were still around when... uh... before...you know. Right"
no subject
"Before.....?"
You're going to have to be a bit more specific, Zuko.
no subject
You know... before your people were slaughtered by his nation and you had to freeze yourself in an iceberg. That before.
no subject
Aang's smile turns sheepish. That...that was something he should have known Zuko was referring to without...yeah, sorry.
"The mountains around the Fire Nation were lousy with dragons. But like rooster pigeons, you never really saw the babies."
It's here that Aang tilts his head some, to try and catch a better glimpse of the wee dragonlet above him.
"Kuzon and I used to try and sneak up on nests, but you could only really do that when the adults were away. We even saved some eggs from poachers once."
no subject
Druk looked back down at Aang, then launched himself off his head and landed back on Zuko's shoulder. He likes you Aang, but Zuko is his mama.
no subject
"Yeah, sorry. I know they used to eat sky bison, when they could catch them, but I don't know that's all that helpful. Hmmm. OH! Roku had a dragon, maybe I ...oh, no...nevermind."
You broke off your connection to Roku, Aang. Remember?
no subject
"Sorry," he said, though really he knew it wasn't his fault. Yet in a way it kind of was.
no subject
no subject
Maybe not directly but the circumstances had surrounded them. The both of them in fact. It had been a mess that Zuko would rather forget, even though he had been right in the end. But it's not something he likely ever would forget.
no subject
"I wonder if it'd be possible for me to reach him here."
no subject
If Aang was having trouble speaking with his other past lives then maybe he needed to amend things with Roku. Zuko almost wished he could speak to Roku himself. It was still a little strange to think that he was actually related to the Avatar before Aang.

Cryptic is as cryptic does.

You Avatar guys have a weird obsession with turtle heads.

You are making no sense, Aang.
