Promise me that you'll leave the light on [Open]
Characters: Wan & Zuko & and friends that want to stop by and say hello
Date: Early May (backdated log)
Location: Midnight Hotel with Zuko + Sky Sector
Situation: Wan returns from his much needed time to himself
Warnings/Rating: None
Wan's return to the city was a quiet one. He came back in the afternoon and headed straight for the construction site to check on the gardens. It was landmark he knew well and one he assumed Zuko would eventually head to. He didn't hide his approach, though he did go quickly enough that it was pretty much only natives that saw him before he was gone from an area.
He'd found the Sky Sector completely different than when he left. House and buildings were actually finished or near enough to completion that they were waiting only for the final touches and people to move in. The wild and overgrown gardens were, thankfully, left alone. And there was a small house on the edge of it that Wan suspected was for him and Zuko. It had been a month since he was there and the start of such construction hadn't really been started. Not on their house, anyway.
He puttered about in the campsite he and Zuko had shared, checking on the gardens and making sure there was nothing left as signs of their minor occupation. Valdis ended up finding him there. But after she left, Wan realized it was getting late enough that Zuko was probably at the room they'd been renting in the Midnight Hotel.
So he headed that way for the evening.
But in the morning and for the next several days, he could be seen actively working and trying to help out with any final constructions needed in the Sky Sector. Checking in on friends that he saw around and greeting new people with a friendly wave.

For Zuko (midnight hotel)

He tried very hard to do so without waking Zuko up, his arms slipping around the other man and his head tucking in to rest at the back of his neck. He shifted slightly to press a soft kiss there before shutting his eyes and whispering, "Good night."

"Wan?"
So much for staying asleep.

He was teasing, of course.

"I was getting worried. You were gone a long time. Did you find what you were looking for?"

Cause really, being left here kinda sucked.
"I kept them from touching the gardens. You owe me."

Another kiss, this time higher, closer to his ear. Still light, though. Teasing.
"And I saw. I went there first. The house nearby was nice. Is that ours?"
no subject
The kiss near his ear renewed his smile though.
"Yeah, it is. Do you like it?"
no subject
"I do. It's a little big, but not too big. I'm glad it's not as big as the places we had to sleep because of the lanterns. And it has a nice courtyard."
He went quite for a second, then murmured, "I've never had a house that I could call mine before."
no subject
"Now you do. It will be our home. Just ours."
And personally he thinks its the best one in the Sky Sector.
"I was thinking maybe Uncle could stay with us too."

/friend stopping by to say hello?
"Hello again. It is good to see you."
always!

She replied with her usual even tone. Not a single hint of emphasis on the word, humorous twinkle in her eye, or upward twitch of the lips. No indication one way or the other if her words were meant to be an attempt at a joke.
"There is an 87.9 percent chance that the spores affecting many of us in the past have since been taken care of, which was our primary concern after the initial rush of illnesses."

A wide smile breaks across his face, as he makes a fast break in the direction of the tug.
If Wan's really lucky, Aang might even slow down before he glomps the other Avatar in a hug.

Which...you know, is the grandpappy of all lies.
"Me? I've been..."
Well, aside from getting robbed of his soul gem and nearly dying...
"Great! I've been great. How're you? Did you have a nice wander?"
no subject
"I'm good. And yes. I did," he said as he loosened his grip to set the other Avatar down. Or let him slide down. Aang was taller than he remembered, but still not as tall as Wan was. "It was good to get away from things for a while. I wanted to try and get a new perspective, among other things, and I think I did. I missed you, though. And everyone else."

Aang doesn't so much slide or jump down from his hug, as he does drift down on a slight breeze.
"Traveling is good for that. I could always tell when Gyatso and I were going to wander next by the look on his face. He just got this..." Aang mugs for Wan. It's a very serene sort of mug, but a mug none-the-less.
