Ellie ➭ open ➭ arrival
Characters: Ellie ➭ open
Date: 9/16/15
Location: Central Sector
Situation: Ellie arrived four hours ago and is on her way to either the Welcome Center or The Midnight Hotel when she thinks she spies a familiar face!
Warnings/Rating: Swearing/R
Juulans, Ellie thought as she made through a busy street named something she had no idea what. It was important to be alert and aware of her surroundings, that was for damn sure, but she was significantly overwhelmed.
She woke up about three or four hours ago, she couldn't be entirely sure, but what she did know was that she had a lot to keep in mind. She had been told about a consoles that were available in some hotel and at the welcome center that would be beneficial to check out either of those two locations first before she wandered off too far and too deep into this place.
Something more about these beneficial computer-biological anatomic features veined into the buildings was that there were handsets that were a part of this network if she had interest in picking one up.
Either she could communicate widely through the consoles featured throughout the city or she could use her own headset which she likened to walky-talkies of her own world. My own world.. Ellie still didn't feel comfortable wrapping her mind around the fact that she was on a different world, on the back of a turtle, and already walking in a 120+% increase of population she's ever been around in her whole entire life. It was common to see people, sure, see people back on Earth in groups, in communities, but their numbers were barely on the scale to how many people she's already seen!
It helped to soften the blow about the variations of style the kedans came in to have one with scale-green skin, big oval eyes, and feathered hair explain all this to her. It took about an hour before she was receptive to the native's helpful endeavors, however, on the account the novelty of everything was still freaking her quite the fuck out.
Even still she walked with a numb feeling in her stomach and held her arms close to her body in a fold over her chest. Her goal was to get to the center or the hotel, whichever one came first.
"What––?" Ellie narrowed her eyes and looked ahead. There she could have sworn she saw someone she knew, someone familiar. But was that possible? Would they be here?!
"Hey! Hey! Wait!" She started to shove her way through the crowd to try and catch up with them. "Hey! Wait!"

Once she looked back to him and finished his thought, he had a nod for her and straightened himself. "We are in the same boat then, as the saying would go, or more aptly 'on the same turtle.' Would you like me to help you find whom you were looking for?"

"I'm not sure if it really was someone I know but I have to see, I need to know.." She turned and went forward, with or without this guy.

After some time and many twists and turns through the city he spoke up again. "I fear we may have lost your friend. Do you know where he might have gone? I understand there are different districts in the city."

It was his hair, even that jean jacket with stains on it. The more she walked, looked, and watched for him, the more she became less enthused that this person was actually Tommy.
She looked over her shoulder to the man's sudden voice and for some reason she had expected him to wander off in lost interest. After all what investment did he have in her, what investment did anyone have in anyone? When and where she came from, people were measured for use and it was not too common for people to just gather people for the sake of it. Friends of necessity rather than anything else.
Right?
She thought about Tommy, he seemed to be the type that would help the fellow last of us. But he was few in between. Out in the wilderness, out in the world, outside quarantine zones, it was every man for themselves.
Bill came to mind.
"I don't know." She shook her head and brought a hand up to pull her palm over the top of her head and squeezed her ponytail. "I have no idea where they went. I don't know about this.. place or why people would choose one district over the other! This is so fucked!" Now, in the face of defeat, frustration boiled over and brought an irate tantrum from her. "Why the hell am I here! Why are there so many goddamn people here! What's a turtle even doing this big! I can't believe it!"

He thought of losing Claudia and that fear came back strong to him, and Louis felt strongly for this child then. He frowned softly as he watched her, and he let her vent her frustrations. When it seemed she was done talking, he tried to offer some kind of encouragement.
"I can scarcely believe it myself. The city is quite busy, but that also means there could be much support for you here. There is a hotel, mentioned at the welcome center, which you are able to stay at for the time being. I could lead you there if you like?"

She sure as shit still had the mark of the infected on her arm, but she wasn't crazed and she was still aware of herself. She had her memories and future ambitions––
well she had future ambitions for her world but she would have to know new ones here. Finding the hotel or the center was a good one to start with she figured.
