( click for full size )

The Tavimbians continue to be welcoming to their guests, and while Foreigners are still required to carry their issued pass stamps while in Hatal, they are starting to become recognized. The stamps are made of a brassy metal, a little larger than a credit card, and inscribed with their information, their date of arrival, and whether they've had any run-ins with the laws in Tavimbi (it will be stamped accordingly by the authorities if such happens.)

OOC: There are starters in the comments for various areas of Hatal, or you can use the rest of the post for anything on Tavimbi which doesn't fit under those headings. All city descriptions, as well as NPC contacts for threading, can be found in the Tavimbi OOC post, which is currently stickied in the OOC comm.

Be sure to also check the March Itinerary for up to date happenings in Hatal, and to tag this entry with your character tag when you join in.

Anakin himself went through the area trying to help others as the earthquake hit, though one of his first priorities when it stopped was to locate Obi-Wan. He did stop to help who he could before he finally made it to the other Jedi's side.

"What caused all of this?"

So much death and destruction that hit Anakin like a crushing blow. The people Anakin couldn't save weighed very heavily on him. What good were a couple of Jedi if they couldn't keep things like this from happening?

A dusty and disheveled Obi-Wan was moving a cluster of smaller boulders into a pile when Anakin showed up.

"What took you so long?"

This asked as he sat the rocks down.

"The earthquake broke some supports and caused a rock slide. It seems the structural work here isn't as sound as the other levels."

The living conditions for the Kin'nal was shoddy at best and downright deplorable at worst. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor people. Being victims of a society that devalued them.

"You know me, Master. I had to stop and look at some speeders along the way."

Anakin said with a small smirk as he went to move some of the debris around as well. He even made an effort to move a great deal more than Obi-Wan. Just to show off. But only a little bit.

He did feel for all these people who if they had not lost their lives, lost their homes. Growing up a slave, he can certainly relate. Especially to the conditions. It was terrible how people treated each other.

"Oh, of course. I should have guessed travel by Varactyl wasn't good enough. You might hurt Boga's feelings."

Hopefully some joking would keep things light so that neither of them would dwell too much on the severity of the situation. Said Varactyl actually isn't too far away. The shrieking creature able to be heard from where they were. Though the Kin'nal were quite interested in her, some crowding around her to look at or even pet the giant lizard.

Obi-Wan though rolls his eyes a little at Anakin showing off, while he just kept moving his smaller loads of rocks.

"No more than all those times you've hurt Artoo's feelings. He's sensitive you know."

And something he's really missed. With everything he knows that happens, he hopes R2 is all right back home. It pains him to think something bad might have happened to him.

While they are clearing the debris Anakin wonders if there is an end to it, there should be a way they could stop something like this from happening again. Or someone they can make pay for letting this happen to begin with. Though as his mind drifts to those thoughts he quickly glances at Obi-Wan and then back at the rocks again.

"Yes, yes of course," he says dismissively. They've had this conversation/argument before. Obi-Wan is still not convinced that R2 actually has feelings. He's just a droid after all.

As they continue to move rubble, Obi-Wan catches the glance.

"Something bothering you?"

"... No." A lie. "It's just upsetting how people can think so little of others and allow this to happen is all. I'm still getting used to this place and then all this destruction happens. I'm sorry I'm not more focused, Master." A partial lie.

He wanted to make the people who allowed this happen all suffer for their discretion. Make them feel the same pain the people they failed felt.

But he couldn't do that. He wouldn't fall down that path. He still swore he would cling to the right path and not slip into the fate of his dark future.

Obi-Wan paused to consider Anakin's words, feeling the turmoil in his former apprentice. This situation was upsetting, there was no doubt of that. But after what Anakin had shared with him before, and what he knew of Anakin's future, he knew where his thoughts could lead.

"We can't right all the wrongs in this world Anakin, nor can we prevent them."

There was a pause, but he quickly continued as he knew there would probably be a protest to that.

"But we can help them, as we are now. This may be why we were brought here. Take comfort in that. Focus on what you can do, and not what is beyond your control."
