Rikki flinches a little as the gun goes off, but she hears the zombie trip behind her, and puts on an extra burst of speed to reach Peggy. She slides to a stop a little too late, catching herself on the wall and keeping one hand there to keep herself upright while she gasps for breath.

"I'm fine. Just been... running... for a little while..."

She draws a deep breath and pushes herself away from the wall, raising her shield and bringing her sword to the ready.

"Sorry for leading them right to you. Not the plan."

Glad Rikki's not injured, she shakes her head. "Don't worry about it. We'll find somewhere to rest, for a moment."

Just not at this moment, because the jiangshi are still coming towards them. Peggy pulls out the torch and lights it up, coming to stand beside Rikki. Without losing her focus on the hoard, she continues looking up and down the street - there, a reasonable distance away. A small, interestingly shaped building that if gotten to, appears like it could function as a temporary barricade and bunker.

But taking care of the zombies becomes more urgent. One of the hoard breaks ahead of the rest, with clear aim for Rikki above Peggy with the flames, and a second trails behind it.

"Are you good to take care of a few?" she asks, not out of doubt for Rikki's skill so much as her fatigue.

She feels a little better having Peggy next to her. It's not the familiar solidity of Steve at her side, but the calm competence Peggy exudes, even in the face of this insanity, is comforting in its own way. Rikki smiles, nodding firmly with her eyes on the approaching pack.

"Yeah, sure. No problem."

"There's a small building over there, to the left," she doesn't gesture towards it, because the jiangshi are smart, and Peggy doesn't want to give them a clue as to what she's planning. "Don't try to take out the whole hoard. Just enough so we can get there."

And then it's close enough that Peggy fires at the one in the lead, once in the head, once in the leg, and it topples over. The second trips over it on the ground, but regains itself soon enough and continues towards them.

She leaves that to Rikki, turning her attention on lighting up the jiangshi on the ground, before it gets back up.
